Cristina Hotel

Myslef and My husband chooses Italy for our wedding and selected this hotel for our reception, we spent the week before the wedding in the hotel and I must say it was a very enjoyable stay. The hotel is very clean, spacious and well taken care of. The Managment and Staff were wonderful and very helpful throughout our stay and they couldn't do enough for us on our wedding day and throughout our stay, our guests thoroughly enjoyed their stay in the hotel. We stayed at Hotel Cristina in Sant' Agnello (near Sorrento) in June. We booked 5 rooms - one each for 2 couples, for 2 sets of kids, and for my elderly mother (family vacation). The rooms are decent sized - not too tiny as typical in Europe - big enough for a queen bed or two doubles, plus a desk, space for luggage, and a decent sized bathroom (but not a bathroom big enough for 2 people to be in at once). Hotel Cristina was, without a doubt, the best hotel we stayed in in Italy. The staff were friendly, courteous and helpful. They booked a day tour to Almalfi for us and gave us directions to our shuttle etc. It is a little walk from the centre of Sorrento (maybe 15mins?) but the hotel also has a shuttle into town every couple of hours so it was no hassle at all to get to and from the centre. We have stayed at this hotel 3 of the 5 times we have been to Sorrento, and because the staff changes very little over the years, we have gotten to know them pretty well. They are all very helpful and friendly, knowledgable of the area, and most speak more than a couple of languages. They constantly go out of their way to meet their guests' needs. I've just spent a week at this hotel and I must say it was a very enjoyable stay. The hotel is very clean, spacious and well taken care of. Maids check the rooms twice a day, the staff at the reception is very professional, the food at the restaurant is great (buffet of appetizers + choice of starters and main course) and the view from the hotel over the bay and the Vesuvius is awesome! We stayed at the Hotel Cristina for the last two nights of our tour of Italy. The rooms were large and exceptionally clean. The beds were firm, but very comfortable. The bathroom was the largest one we had of all of the hotels we stayed in during our tour, although the shower was a bit small. I found that throughout our tour most of the bathrooms had small showers, so I have a feeling this is rather the norm in European hotels. Our room opened on to a lovely terrace and had a view of Mt. Sorrento is a favorite destination for many en route to Capri or Amalfi, and the Cristina Hotel is an excellent base for such excursions. Situated on the side of a cliff overlooking Sorrento and the Bay, the hotel's rooms all have private balconies with panoramic views. The staff is very personable, and the rooms immaculate as well as large. Their breakfast buffet is very nice, both for the quality of the food and for the views from the hotel restaurant in which it is served. We stayed at the Cristina as part of a whirlwind tour of Italy. Everyone in our group loved this hotel. The rooms were clean and nicely furnished, if a bit simply. The bathroom in our room was a bit awkwardly laid out, but the overwhelming impression of the room was very good. Some in our group had huge bathrooms. We ended up at the Hotel Cristina by default really - the place we had reserved was overbooked so they managed to get us a room here. I was determined, on that basis (as I was really looking forward to staying at the other place) nt to like the Cristina too much as I was disappointed to move, but I have to say it was a great hotel. We stayed at this hotel as part of our tour and found it to be very clean and friendly. It is situated on the side of a hill so it is off the road which makes it not very convenient to walk to town. The room had a spectacular view of the Bay of Naples and the city of Sorrento. The room was comfortable and clean. The pool area was beautiful and also had the same view. The restaurant was better then the norm. They even served fresh fruit at breakfast!
