We love the Eastbury Hotel
from summer08Yeovil
We spent our wedding anniversary at the Eastbury because last year we chose the Easbury Hotel as the venue for our wedding and wedding reception and we loved the venue so much we had to go back! The venue had everything we wanted, needed and desired. The management and staff are always happy to assist. The food at the wedding was tailor made for our event and the chefs creativity was amazing. We have eaten here a number of times and the food always exceeds our expectations. The gardens at this hotel are always 'blooming' lovely, with...

Nice hotel
from penky
Lovely welcome, nice staff. Lovely room, the bed was like sleeping on a cloud! the bathroom was a little tired, but this was acknowledged by the owners in their newsletter, it was spotless and functional none the less. A woman alone on business, I preferred room service, and had the most gorgeous mushroom linguine, hot and tasty, the best pasta dish Ive had for ages. The sweet girl on reception came and took my plate away when Id finished. Breakfast was tasty and nicely served, overlooking the gorgeous gardens. Overall, I...

Very small rooms, poor ventilation and slightly pretentious
from Nossi
Called the hotel from the road, saying I was 5 minutes' drive away, but needed every trick in the book to persuade them to hold the room for 5 minutes without a credit card guarantee. Very small room - cramped and poorly ventilated. Opening the window was not really an option - too much road noise. Restaurant somewhat pretentious for the glorified pub grub that I got. Breakfast too slow, too many people involved; would have preferred a buffet.
Pleasant
from Isla72
Well placed near the centre of Sherborne. This is a small hotel with good sized gardens in the back. Good venue for receptions. The room was tiered but adequately furnished. Breakfast was excellent. Friendly staff. Rather pricey even with an off season discount but still a good place to stay.
Nice Location shame about the room!
from Neighbour60
Eastbury Hotel, Sherborne, Dorset June 2007 Just returned from a disappointing visit to this hotel which had promised much but delivered little. The room was on the top floor just under the roof with a low ceiling (too low for anyone over six feet tall) and had a large step in the ensuite which was disconcerting as you had to always remember to step down as you moved out into the bedroom. Because the room was on the main road it was very noisy. At £120 per night this was not good value. We had afternoon tea when we...

Loved the Hotel, but not the restaurant
from Alanduttonsmith
We booked via Laterooms, with no problems, and with a good discount, and stayed the next night, June 2nd, 2007. Check-in was great, with a very friendly and helpful receptionist and porter, who took us to a comfortable room on the second floor. We loved the look, ambience and comfort of the hotel, and enjoyed a (quick) wander round the town and the beautiful Abbey. The big problem with the hotel was the restaurant. We booked a table for 7.00pm, as we like to eat early, but were still in the bar (having ordered food and wine), at 7.45....

Beautiful Garden Room
from tweetypie17101964
we arrived on the doorstep of the Eastbury looking for a one night stay. i have worked in some of the top rated hotels in London, and i have to say this was a most delightful and professional establishment. we stayed in a delightful garden room with its own private patio, huge bed, wide screen tv and jacuzzi bath! it dosent get much better than that! and the following morning a very enjoyable breakfast with a vast array of fresh produce fruit and yogurts. i would def stay here again and recommend. many thanks for our stay.
Pleasant hotel - on the whole
from JM49
I think our experience here can be summed up by our breakfast table. The hotel had gone to the trouble of reserving it for us with a specially printed name card - a lovely touch. Until we discovered that our name was misspelt... Our room (Bluebell) was the last available and probably not the best. It's at the top of some quite steep steps with a tricky bend, which might cause problems for some - but we were warned about this before booking. The room itself was smallish but very comfortable. It lacked a fridge but had the other...

Perfect English country town hotel
from TimeToTravelAgain
What a find! The hotel is privately owned, and it shows. The staff are all friendly and helpful. The standard of the room furnishings is high, and the rooms are very clean. Unusually in a hotel of this type, bath robes are provided in all rooms. There are welcoming public areas, with magazines and newspapers to read. The food and service in the restaurant are both excellent. A bonus is that the hotel is only about 100 yards from the main street of Sherborne, a real traditional English town, where most of the shops still...

What a nice hotel!
from A TripAdvisor Member
This is a super hotel in a great town. The staff are very friendly yet supremly professional at all times and the Chef is excellent with generous cuisine that is succulently cooked and tantalisingly presented. Restaurant prices are average rather than cheap but the wine list is superb and well listed. Don't miss the market on Saturday in Sherbourne - a proper market.. and the Antiques Fair just down the road from the Hotel is not to be missed - unlike the Hotel carpark and if you are unfamiliar with Sherbourne don't expect the signage to...
