New Westcliff Hotel

stayed 1 night good helpful reception staff. rooms clean and nicely decorated. located in a quiet residential road. short taxi ride to town railway station or university (5mins £7) poor room only had a shower, no bath. no internet or wifi access. few tv channels available breakfast service slow and selection small. a long walk to any of the bars and resturants in town. overall excellent value for money when comapared to nearby hotels. it seemed to be full of couples 55+... more

We were expecting good things from this hotel given the positive reviews that we had seen on this site but they failed to deliver. My wife and I went to the hotel for our first wedding anniversary for 3 nights. On arrival (about 3pm on Friday) we checked in and went to our room (no. 36). I found a problem with the toilet (it wouldn't flush at all) and phoned reception. They promised to send someone to look at it as soon as possible. Been here 3 times now still as friendly and welcoming as first time. Would recommend this hotel to everyone. Spotless rooms, good food and excellant leisure facilities. Just overall an easy going hotel.

This hotel has been refurbished to a very high standard. Our room had new soft furnishings, furniture, carpet and en-suite. An iron and trouser press were also installed in the room. The other detail that really stands out about the New Westcliffe is how clean it is. The swimming pool changing rooms were absolutely spotless. We only stayed for two nights but would certainly recommend the standard and comfort of this hotel. It is also situated in a nice quiet road.

I would have classed this hotel as Above Average had the breakfast not let it down. We arrived for a one night break on Bank Holiday weekend. All rooms were booked for the weekend, and despite this the reception staff were incredibly friendly with checking in. The outside is clean and tidy and this carried on into the bedrooms. Had a brilliant time here with friends and family, and every one had a fantastic time - even my aunt who can usually find something to moan about! Rooms are large and beautifully decorated and we were able to all have rooms near each other which was great for pyjama parties! The staff were great - all very helpful and friendly; the food was excellent and the bar and lounge areas welcoming. It truly is an all rounder of an Hotel and was super value for money.

Had a 4 day break at the New Westcliff on one of their fantastic value for money breaks, we both where a bit worried as the offer was so value for money we did not know what to expect! When got to hotel we where welcomed with the biggest smile and the staff made us feel very comfortable, the rooms where fantastic not the mention the excellent facilities and not forgetting the best food I have ever tated. We spent our honeymoon in this hotel after a previous visit and have visited again since, Excellent hotel fantastic food, entertainment 6 nights a week, its own cinema, suana, jacuzzi and pool and even its own bowling green. The rooms are tastefully decorated, the staff very friendly and helpful. and we must echo previous comments that this hotel should be higher rated than two star.
