Room for improvement
from Rose50
Stayed for one night during a mini tour of Cornwall. The best thing about the Hotel is the location and our room had a wonderful view over the harbour. This is not really a Hotel but a pub/restaurant with rooms. The only facility is a sitting room which is unwelcoming and probably never used. Our room was tiny and the en-suite was far too small for normal sized people. The decor was pretty basic and we would have expected more for the high price paid for the room. Breakfast was excellent however. We did not eat in the restaurant in the...

Slipaway from the Slipway
from Marthasaunty
We recently booked a two night stay at The Slipway as we wanted to be in Port Isaac and they were offering a room with a balcony and harbour view. Before we even got to the hotel it was a nightmare as it is so difficult to park - you have to park outside the village and then walk in, which takes about 10 minutes. if you can actually get a space. When we got to the hotel, we were shown to our room by a very nice girl, who then left us to settle in. When we looked round we realised that the room was very small, as was the bathroom,...

A Real Gem
from PrincessCardiff
We booked the last room available on the day we travelled, we were keen to see the location 'Doc Martin' had been filmed....and we weren't disappointed. The Hotel is situated, as its name says, on the slipway of the harbour, nestled next to and above the lifeboat station. Port Isaac is restricted to cars, unless dropping off to the hotel or for the businesses and residents. We had to park in the car park outside the hamlet and walk to the hotel along the coastal path about 10 to 15 mins away, this just added to the uniqueness of the place....

Great stay
from crispy23
If you want to stay in the heart of Port Isaac a very pretty Cornish fishing village then in our opinion you will not go far wrong with the Slipway Hotel. We have just returned from a really nice long weekend celebrating a birthday. Our room had a great view overlooking the harbour, it was a little compact but was clean, modern, light and airy, anyone that may enjoy a little too many cornish pasties or cream teas might struggle to get in the shower though! There is no car parking at the hotel but you can drive down through the...

Beautiful View
from eprVancouver
I really enjoyed this hotel. It was everything I had expected. The staff was cheerful and friendly and the breakfast was excellent. The past reviews really helped and were very accurate. The walk down was quite a hike, but the town is so quaint, it was quite fun. One complaint was that the second day our room was not cleaned. In fact I had to get toilet paper from the restroom in the restaurant next door. I thought this was a little much considering the price we paid. I would definately stay there again, as overall it was...

Fantastic hotel!
from canarywharf77
My husband and I spent a night here shortly after we got married. We had been recommended the hotel by a friend, and lets just say it more than lived up to it's reputation. The rooms are clean and light, we were in the suite over the lifeboat station which had a heavenly view out onto the port. There were lovely touches like local herbal products in the bathroom and local art work in the room. The breakfast was superb and set us up for the day. Being Doc Martin fans my husband and I really enjoyed seeing the setting for the tv series and...

Slipway superb
from magden
Stayed 3 nights at The Slipway- very comfortable room and like previous comment quite expensive at £110 per room per night (B&B)- when it isn't really an hotel - more of a restaurant with rooms, however, the staff are very welcoming and try to make your stay as good as possible. We ate in the restaurant on 2 of the 3 evenings and wished we had eaten on all 3, because the other place we tried fell well short of The Slipway's standards- the menu was well thought out and varied and with the fish merchant just across the narrow street- you...

Fantastic location
from PaulineT
Chose this place from the Good Pub Guide especially for its location right on the slipway in the heart of Port Isaac. At £110 per night for a twin room with no special view it is not cheap but the room was comfortable, spotlessly clean and nice extras. The way the place is presented and run very much complements the fishing village - not stuffy but clearly everthing is very well organised and the owners could be seen to work really hard to ensure the place is comfortable and welcoming. We ate there in the evening and the food was some of...

Not really a hotel; more of a pub
from A_TAdvisor_Member
The name 'hotel' is not truly accurate but this pub/eatery/B&B is in an excellent location - right in the heart of Port Isaac and as the name suggests, situated almost on the slipway down to the tiny working harbour. The prices for this B&B are higher than average so one expects a little extra luxury. On the whole, the complete package was very good, but I wouldn't say anything was "luxurious". Due to the price perhaps this review is a little more critical than usual. The view from our front facing room was a little obscured by...

Great little hotel!
from Almatt
This is a little gem of a hotel. It is right on the harbour front at Port Isaac. It's small and well kept. Our room overlooked the harbour and, although not especially large, it was mote than adequate and was well furnished with TV, phone, kettle etc. The bathroom was small (shower but no bath) and, again, this was well equpped. The food was absloutley excellent - especially for fish and seafood lovers. The staff were all helpful and friendly. There is no parking at the hotel and you need to park up the hill. Also, the hotel itself has no...
