Lovely
from Maje
My husband and I stayed in the "honeymoon suite" (the owner said it was mostly used for honeymooners) for one night when we visited Bath in early November. A very good place to stay! The owners were very serviceminded and made dinner reservations for us upon request. The room was beautiful with a four poster bed and large bathroom. The bathroom was tastefully decorated and even held an enormous, old-fashined tub. The breakfast was one of the best hotel breakfasts I`ve ever seen: fresh fruit, including sweet strawberrys and pineapple, broad...

Loved Apsley house
from arthur_itis
My wife and I spent 4 nights at the Apsley hotel in Bath during the second week of October and we were expecting something special, but nothing prepared us for the treat which lay in store for us. We were greeted on our arrival and our cases carried upstairs for us. Everything was explained to us including recommendations on where to eat. The breakfasts were out of this world with anything and everything on the menu, our only disappointment was that we were only there 4 days and did not have time to sample all the delights. We had a large...

apsley house superb
from firemanvinnie
My wife and i have just had the most relaxing long weekend ever thanks mainly to the excellent hospitality offered by Apsley house and its staff. As soon as your car pulls into the car park someone is out to greet you and take your luggage to your room. Upon entering the house we were made to feel very much at home with the member of staff on the reception desk giving us guidelines on what was on offer at apsley house ie, breakfasts, room service, honesty bar etc, and even a map highlighting local places to visitand where to eat. We were...

Great Family Visit to Apsley House
from BerkshireBound
Our family stayed at Apsley House in Early August 2007 and had a wonderful visit. The house is in a a walled compound in a residential neighborhood. Apart from the historical stone house, the property features a private but large backyard that offers splendid views due to its elevation. It has a very Tuscan or country French feel actually with gardens and light decoration. Apsley House is a very nice size. Our family took two adjacent lower rooms with an outer door we could shut to give us our own suite. We were very comfortable....

Great experience!
from 4Travellers1
The four of us were very lucky to have found the Apsley House Hotel, its a wonderfully restored house. Well decorated, with a great deal of attention to detail. The breakfast was excellent and the dining room is great, fabulous view. The men really enjoyed the help yourself bar, leave a chit, and pay when you check out. The living-room was elegant and very comfortable to relax in after a busy day. The owners were very helpful. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone travelling to Bath. Enjoy. L. Lovely house and garden, delicious breakfast but
from Essexrosabel
The house and garden are beautiful and the breakfast was exceptional. We received a very warm welcome and the owners were extremely helpful. As mentioned by some other reviewers we were put in one of the basement rooms which was extremely damp and had no natural light. The smell of damp in the room was very strong and all our clothes smelled of damp when we returned home. If you visit Apsley House ensure that you are not put in this room as it is very unpleasant.
A great experience
from ProfessorBob
We expected to be pleased based on reviews by Frommer and on this site, but the experience exceeded our expectations. From the time we were greeted by the friendly, helpful staff until we bade a reluctant farewell, the visit was top-rate. The rooms were beautifully decorated and appointed, the staff was always available for our every question or need, the breakfasts were outstanding with the added benefit of a beautiful garden and country-side view, and after a hard day of "touristing" the lounge with a well-stocked honor bar was a treat....

We loved it here!
from World-Traveller-one
Stayed here based on reviews provided by other travellers and information gleaned from the property's web site; we were not disappointed. Booked the family suite in the basement with its own door to the glorious backyard - the four of us had ample room in the suite. The beds were quite comfortable and our bathroom provided plenty of space and a great hot shower. The breakfast was excellent in both selection and quality of items. A most pleasing experience wholeheartedly recommended.
Loved the hotel, staff and Coco
from ClarkesWales
The hotel is situated just outside the city but the bus stops just outside the gates and taxi's are easy to get to take you into the centre of bath. It is a beautiful building with a welcoming atmosphere, the staff cant do enough to help you and to make your stay comfortable. I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a relaxing break away.
Really Lovely Old House and great atmosphere
from JScott69
My partner and I had a really lovel stay at Apsley House in June. The Managers who were young were so helful and upbeat . We stayed on the first floor in a huge four poster bed a great room with massive window and olf french armoir and it had a large light bathroom with two sinks. Breakfast was excellent - I had the homemade pancakes (you can tell they are homemade) which were very good and my partner had poached eggs on crispy bacon on a muffin stack - also very good and perfect poached eggs. We walked into town which was about 25...
