It's the little extras that made it special.
We took my mother away for a few days and spent two of them at The Ayrlington in Bath. It was spotlessly clean and the little extras made all the difference. We appreciated the best quality bedding, toiletries and refreshments in our rooms and the garden was beautiful. The breakfasts were of a VERY high standard and, although evening meals were not available at the hotel, Audrey kindly provided sandwiches for us, which she set out in the dining room both nights. Nothing was too much trouble and we intend to make a return visit when we are... more
Retreat that is a treat
From the initial contact to the day of departure, our trip to celebrate our silver wedding was faultless. The staff are all so friendly and nothing was too much trouble, The garden is blissful with many areas to sit and relax. The cats are cute and very friendly. We stayed in Empire with the view of the Abbey and Empire. The little touch of sherry and mints was greatly appreciated. Bath itself is a great place to visit. We visited the spa which is fabulous and I would thoroughly recommend it. We ate at the Bistro No5, the... more
Far exceeded our expectations.
From the first initial phone call direct to the hotel until the time we checked out we were treated kindly, professionally and respectfully. The room we chose to stay in was the Pulteney which boasted a rather grand four poster bed with views out of the windows of Bath abbey and the beautiful hotel gardens. We couldn't have hoped for more breath taking views. We were extremely impressed with all the little extras and specials touches that added to the whole experience. Designated parking in hotel grounds and use of the garden.<br... more
Lovely stay
Wonderful town to explore and this B&B was within walking distance of quite a lot. Clean, great bath facilities, lovely gardens and yummy breakfast. Very nice reception.
Lovely Hotel, great location
We have just returned from a mid week stay at the Ayrlington in Bath and my husband and I were delighted with the accommodation in every way. This was our first visit to Bath, so we had no idea of the layout of the town or the location of any of the Hotels. This Hotel is ideal - it is approx 5-7 mins walk down one of the nicest streets in Bath to Pultney Bridge ( flat walk, no hills). Our room (Siena) was large with lovely furniture and very clean, as is reflected throughout the whole Hotel. The staff and owners are very friendly... more
Comfortable and convenient
Have just returned from a 2 night stay at The Ayrlington and it would be hard to find a more ideally located place to stay. Just a short walk along North Parade Road (excellent views of the Pulteney Bridge!) and you're in the heart of Bath. We stayed in the Empire Room which is at the back on the ground floor with lovely views of the graden and the Abbey beyond - be warned though, if you stay in this room when the trees are in leaf your view of the Abbey will be totally obscured by an inconviently located tree! Room was more than comfortable... more
Excellent small hotel
We thoroughly enjoyed our midweek stay (2 nights). The hotel is conveniently located just a short walk away from the centre of Bath. It has a small carpark, which is very good for a Hotel so near to the centre. Very helpful and friendly staff and nothing was too much trouble, sadly missing at some hotels. All rooms were very clean, very well presented with high quality furniture and fabrics. It was warm and homely and the victorian house retains many beautiful period features. We can highly recommend the Hotel and intend to... more
A gem of a Hotel
The Ayrlington was recommended by a friend who had stayed there on two previous occasions and she was impressed by the service, decor and location. She was right. The service is very good, the staff are friendly & helpful. The rooms are very well decorated. I stayed in a superior double room which was very large, with excellent facilities. The location is very convenient being just a few minutes walk from the main historical sites and the shops! I would definitely stay there again.
Keep it quiet!!
My husband and I have just returned from another stay at The Ayrlington Hotel, this time we stayed in the Abbey Room. The hotel has long been a favourite of ours, so much so that when my husband proposed he chose to do so in the romatic surroundings of the Pulteney Room with it's four poster bed. The hotel is beautifully decorated with lots of personal touches and the staff are attentive and helpful but always discreet. Being regular visitors to Bath we have stayed at a number of local hotels, from the individual bed and... more
v.good
Booked for one nights stay in November, some problem in getting an acknowledgement email to confirm booking, but glad we persevered as its a lovely place. Not cheap but when the quality is good that is acceptable.
