" Dont go if you're expecting a beach holiday.... "
Submitted By: cocobobThe one main let down for us was the fact that the beach was a shingle beach with absolutely no ameneties at all. We were gutted as we had hoped to spend at least a couple of days at the beach rather than the whole week at the pool. There was also lots of building work going on right outside the hotel - the view from the restaurant was one of diggers and trucks transporting bolders to extend the port. It was very noisy and made the sea very dirty. It was very very disapointing for our little boy who was hoping to swim in the sea and build some sandcastles.... In all the reports it says part shingle part sandy beach but do not believe this. It is not a child friendly beach at all. There is also absolutely nothing at all in the surrounding area so if you want to explore you will definately need a car. The village is very small and almost like a ghost town.
All in all we had a fantastic time in Cyprus but we got a little bored of the swimming pool every day and would have much preferred to have had the choice of a beach to go to.
Advice: Good hotel facilities - not a very nice beach as it is all shingle

" Elia latchi village! "
Submitted By: RWPTBThe reception staff were hardly welcoming but maybe that was just because there wasnt a smile on any of our 7 faces! After walking up a very steep hill to our apartment we got into our rooms, which smelt a little on the outside but were nicely layed out and were clean. Some days we didnt know the cleaner had even been as there was no difference apart from the bed being made!
The pool was lovely and one good thing i can say about the village was that there was quite a proportion of british there which made a great seventh night before we left, althought it still didnt stop me from wanting to leave as i couldn't wait to get home and eat some food apart from chips, fish fingers and chicken nuggets (if they were chicken!).
The picture in the brochure showed a sandy beach across the road from the village. Well, not quite. After a road, a row of boulders and then the sea was hard to make out. So we were fairly pinned to the village. We did however, manage to have a lovely boat trip which was quite cheap which took us around the coast and we also swam in the sea.
After visiting Royal Wings hotel this year, a 5 star hotel which cost the same for a week in All Inclusive, i have now realised the entertainment at elia latchi village was VERY poor! A tiny stage with very limited funds but the entertainment team were friendly.
Overall a dissapointing holiday which looked alot better in the brochure. I wouldnt not recommend this to anyone unless it has a vast improvement!
Advice: Dissapointing!
Activities: Boat trips across the coast are lovely!
" Cyprus holiday two years ago "
Submitted By: sjefferiesTwo years later we have just booked to go again and I will take my own matress protector this time (for my bed!). My young daughter wet the bed and we discovered lots of other stains on the matress on changing the sheets. It was disgusting and I didn't sleep well for the rest of the week!
The food was a bit repetitive but not too bad. Lots of pasta and chips and ice-cream for the children!
Advice: Don't expect luxury. It's about a two star.

Submitted By: Mrs R SladeThe site itself was lovely, great pools and no problem getting a sunbed. The only problem with the holiday was that one week wasn't long enough. Musn't forget to mention the weather, beautiful sunshine all week in the thirties.

Submitted By: Mrs L M RalphThe staff, from arriving at reception, catering staff, maids, animation team, were wonderful and did their best to provide an excellent service. Our room was spotlessly clean, sheets and towels changed every 2-3 day. The landscaped complex itself is beautiful.
It was the first holiday we have had where we were happy to stay on the complex - there was enough going on for everyone, ranging from sports throughout the day, to aqua gym, a 'quiet pool' for those who wanted a bit more relaxation, and entertainment laid on during the evening for for both children and adults. All in all - something for everyone!
Latchi itself is a fairly quiet little resort with some lovely fish restaurants (steak available!) in the harbour, from where you can take advantage of all kinds of water sports. Unfortunately, the beach leaves a lot to be desired if you like a beach holiday - it is sand/shingle and has to be left in a natural state for the turtles to lay their eggs. However, this did not detract from our holiday in anyway. It was a pleasure to stay on the complex.

Submitted By: Miss H ArmstrongThe pool at the main bar is great but can get very busy, there are other pool areas which are quieter but equally as good.
We chose All Inclusive and this did get a bit repetitive and we were only there for a week and only had breakfast and dinner as we were out exploring the island most days. The Childrens choice was particulary poor. At the main bar on a evening it was taking at least 10 minutes to get served, there is a table service but if you order from him you will be lucky to receive a drink within a hour if at all. Also as the night goes on less alcohol is added to the cocktails and the service deteorates even further.
The entertainment is something else, it mostly consisted of the animation team holding bingo, a quiz, karaoke or games. The Childrens mini disco consisted of the same music in the same order every night, but the Kids didn't seem to mind.
If your thinking of going to Cyprus do not travel to or from Paphos Airport on a Wednesday. Our return journey was a nightmare, when we arrived at the airport we were made to que outside in direct sunshine for over a hour before we reached any shade then another 20 minutes before we reached the entrance, in total it took nearly 3 hours to check in resulting in our flight been delayed by 2 hours. Apparently this happens every Wednesday.

Submitted By: Miss SS StuartThe staff were very friendly and included everyone in the daytime activities. They did things such as water volleyball, football, swimming races etc.
The rooms were satisfactory but that didn't matter because you don't go on holiday to stay inside your room!!!
The food was very good and the waiters were very quick and friendly.
The entertainment was good quizzes, dancers etc. It was a good laugh!
Would definietly go back although I would recommend that you hire a car otherwise you will not get very far outside of the village!

Submitted By: Mr J SaundersThe rooms were comfortable. A bit small but the balcony gave it a lot more space. The room facilities were OK with TV, air con, and kitchenette area.
The activities on site were really good fun. The pool was good with water slide for kids and separate kid’s pool etc. The play park was really well equipped.
The evening shows were well planned and presented. We had a really good time and met a few British couples with kids. Friendly atmosphere and great weather!

Submitted By: Mrs J EatonThe apartments are in need of updating and are very shabby (at least ours was) and the cleaning left a lot to be desired. The grounds are spacious and well laid out, but again in need of some attention especially around the pool areas which needed a good clean up! Security at the site needs to be better as anyone can (and did) walk on site and I would recommend you rent a safety deposit box.
We didn’t use the entertainment facilities much - as it was the end of season I think they'd wound down a bit so we got film nights, a couple of quizzes, a magician and some Cypriot dancers!
Latchi is a nice quiet resort with some good places to eat, and had we paid 2 star money for this holiday then we would have been much happier, however, as it was we paid 4 star prices for 2 star accommodation.

The Elia was brilliant.
The accommodation was spacious, clean and set in quiet surroundings. We had great views from our balcony.
The food was of a high standard and there was plenty of variety. Being non meat-eaters we found head chef John, helpful and obliging in ensuring we always had a fish or veg option.
Restaurant staff were all friendly, polite and helpful, in particular Michelle and Colin.
Dawn the rep was available daily and was also extremely helpful. Her welcome meeting was informative and nicely presented.
The Animation Team (Mario, Danny and Nadya) was the best we have encountered. The grandsons loved Nadya and the guys made the daily activities a focus of fun and enjoyment.
The pool and surrounds were immaculately kept and the pool-bar staff were friendly and helpful.
All in all a great holiday for us all and one we will remember for a long time.
Thanks to all at Elia Lachi Village.
