The arsinoe hotel was in a brillant location with the beach across the road. Also you could travel into limassol on the number 30 bus which we played 1.50 to go anywhere on the bus ride in limassol, once you got into limassol there is a sculture park and streets filled with great shops more for surnevirs but some offered clothes and lots of shoes .You could also vistit the sponge factory which was quite big and also you could visit a castle which was quite good.Right the hotel itself had brillant choice of food with soup for starters and then a main meal with lots of chice e.g salads, meat. Then you could have dessert and for breakfast you could have cooked or ceral or toast AND FRUIT.the hotel rooms werent the best but it doesn't really matter if your not in the hotel all day they also have 2 pools which are big and great for kids and the hotel offers and great selection of activities to keep you and your kids occupied. The hotel also has great staff that are very polite. The hotel has a range of users from french, german, spanish but mainly english and russians.Thomas cook are the best to go with they arange trips for you and you know you can trust them i would never trust the ones on the street even if there less money who cares its better to be safe then sorry.....The hotel is great but if you would like a more upbeat hoilday like nightclubs i would suggest ayia napa if you are young but if you have a family or you are by yourself or are older i would suggest the arsinoe hotel Its Great..........

When i read the reviews for the Arsinoe, i began to dread my holiday!
Upon my arrival, i was pleasantly suprised, it was 2o'clock in the morning and alll the staff were still bright and welcoming.
I was able to go straight to my room.
No the hotel isn't cleaned and decorated to a high standard but it is acceptable, considering it's a three star hotel.
It seems that a lot of people expect 4 or 5 star quality when they are only paying 3 star prices.
Overall i thoroughly enjoyed my holiday, wonderful customer service delivered by all staff.
The hotels location was also a good point as everything was on the doorstep.
The only real downsides, were the noise levels from the road outside, didnt bother me though!
When it woke me up, i just went and watched from my balcony! Also the food was not to my tastes but there were so many lovely resteraunts just a short walk away, i recommend the Ni Hao chinese resteraunt to the left of the hotel.

We read all the comments on this hotel so had a balanced view before we went.
Overall we had a good holiday, although this was mainly due to the glorious weather.
The hotel is without doubt starting to get shabby in places, including the bedroom and bathroom which amongst other defects had a cracked sink and peeling mouldy paintwork. Our room was overlooking the roof of the bar and smaller outside pool which was rarely used and was close to the road. The balcony was tiny and insecure and open to the adjoining other balconies and was not used as we did not want to sit back to back with smokers who were unfortunately on both sides..
The patio doors were rarely locked over the two weeks after the cleaners had finished. The noise was very bad from the road at times not due to the traffic which in itself was heavy but by the noisy exhausts, stereos and driving habits of the boy racers up to around 4am. If you are able to specify a hotel room location go for the newer part at the back as the hotel was extended and these rooms area a lot better and quieter.
We had a bad start in any event as the key card to our room would not operate and we had two visits to the reception to sort it out at midnight on late arrival. That said the reception staff and all bar staff were all very friendly and everyone speaks english. I also picked up an ear infection which the GP I saw said was almost certainly caused by swimming in a pool. I had to see him twice for treatment. This was also efficiently dealt with at 40 euros a visit.
The evening entertainment at the hotel was at best reasonable although ruined by euro 2008 as this was left on the large tvs when other events were planned. Karaoke is big in Limossol including the hotel where it is on twice a week. This however is reflected in most venues so not a lot different elsewhere.
We hired a car for six days over the two weeks locally at half price of the major recommended company as we wanted Limossol as a base to explore for which it was ideal. We found the hotel food to be very good overall although there was never ice cream offered. There is little if anything for children at the hotel and if you are in your 20's you would get bored with whats on offer, although there is a night club underneath which was free entrance to guests. The drinks however were very expensive at 8 euro for a small bottle of beer !
The Hotel tries hard although we feel the 3 star rating to be slipping very close to 2 really. At the end of the day you get what you pay for and we got a good deal for 14 nights by booking online several months ago. We would pay a bit more to get something better if we went back. If it is entertainemt you are looking for and really good beaches as most did not seem that good to us in Cyprus go to spain.

Have just got back from a week at this hotel.
Hotel was really nice and clean, a lot better than expected. Pool woz lovely and there were always plenty of sunbeds. Breakfast and dinner was quite varied, with different themes every night.
Bar staff were really friendly and a good laugh, especially George, Lil Yiannis n Big Yiannis!
The only downside to this hotel is the location. Great for if you are a older as it is far away from the main town and nightlife with just a few quieter bars around. But as we are a group of 20 year old girls it was not so good for us. Thomas Cook told us that we would be in the middle of everything (which really wasn't true). If we wanted to go into the main tourist town we had to get a bus which took about 20 mins, but ran regularly and only cost 1.35 euros so wasn't too bad. And then had to get a taxi back which cost around 10-12 euros.
If you want a good night out Step Inn Irish Bar is the place to go (expensive drinks though). It has a club underneath it which opens later on in the night, not sure what it was called, something Triangle i think.
Drinks at the hotel bar were a very resonable price though and entertainment was quite good, such as karaoke and bingo, and the staff always made it a good night for us.
If you are looking for trips to do you deffinately have to go to Fasouri Waterpark (about 30 mins bus journey from Arsinoe). Admission is 28 euros and 3 euros bus fair, which you can book at the hotel. Had such a good day there, plenty of slides and a big wave pool.
Wasn't very impressed with the beaches in Limassol, water was clear but the sand was very grey which made the water look a lot darker.
Weather was always really really nice and hot, didn't have a bad day.
Overall had such a good holiday, just wish the hotel was a bit closer to the main nightlife. But still glad we stayed there.

I honestly don't know what some people expect? We read some pretty awful reviews of this hotel before our holiday, which to be honest, couldn't be further from the truth. I guess it boils down to a value-for-money thing and people's expectations.
That said, I'll be as honest as possible.
Flight was delayed, and as such we arrived at the hotel after the evening meal service. The hotel had kept the restaurant open especially for us, and not only that, processed our paperwork whilst we ate.
The rooms aren't massive - They're functional. Containing twin beds, fitted wadrobe and a desk/chair. Usual mixture of mainly foreign, with some English TV chanels so no surprises there. The decor could do with an update and the ensuite isn't massive. But it works. With half board accommodation do you honestly do anything else in there other than sleep?
Although we weren't affected, I believe road noise is an issue with the Arsinoe. We were in a room toward the back of the hotel, view over the pool, so no road noise. We did speak to a couple who's 'sea view' room was at the very front of the hotel. They looked drawn after what they claimed was two days without sleep, but did concede that they had been moved immediately after they complained. What else could the hotel have done?
It's hard to criticise the food, least of all call it bland. Breakfast was everything you wanted - continental and full english. I can understand the criticism of the toast machine, but to be fair it's nothing more than trivial whining. As what the contributor failed to disclose, was that there were allways several rounds freshly toasted by the staff in the warmer.
Dinner was a fabulous mix each night. Staff, are a fantastic bunch.
Limassol's an odd sort of place. Really spread out, so it's hard to comment on location but I'll try. Rebecca's is great for a relaxed beer/meal etc, whilst Hamlets seems to be the choice of the young locals. I recommend both, but as said, not much else really desipte the hotel being in the tourist area.
Too cold to use the pool when we went, but warm enough to sunbathe. Main pool was kept very clean, but there were a couple of smaller pool area's close to the bridge that needed attention. Maybe because it was out of season?
There's a disco under the hotel. We never heard it in the room, though I suppose it could be an issue in the summer months.

We have just returned from the Arsinoe - Feb 2008. Got a really good deal or probably would not have picked this resort or hotel. First impressions, we arrived early evening, was rather dimly lit. Went straight to the dining room for evening meal. Plenty of variety, if a little boring sometimes, they tried to please everyone, there was always meat or fish, and a pasta dish, some evenings they really seemed to excel and you would be spoilt for choice, but then other evenings everything was very bland and boring. Always a good choice of soup or salads for starters though, and very good range of desserts and fresh fruit. Breakfast was the usual mediterranean or english, they could do with a new toaster though. It didn't seem to matter what time you went for your meals, even if you were last minute, they always restocked if something was getting low, that was very good, there was no rushing to get your food. Rooms are needing updating, as is the indoor swimming pool area, but as most of the surrounding hotels seem to be shut and being turned into apartments, we wondered how long it would be before this one went the same way. Evening entertainment was very disappointing, bingo, bingo and football, football, if you didn't like either of these you were a bit stuck really as surrounding bars etc were very quiet. Just wonder what Limassol will be like in a couple of years, far too much building going on and as said earlier, all hotels being turned into apartments - not good. The Arsinoe was good value for money overall, rooms cleaned and towels changed daily, plenty to eat if it suits you, and lovely staff - minus side, the entertainment and the distance from centre of town - extremely long way to walk.

First impression on arriving the reception area was dingy and dimly lit and in need of refurbishment, the reception staff were very helpful and friendly as were the bar staff and waiters, rooms were again in need of a refurb, the dining and breakfast rooms were clean and spacious, the food was basic but you could always find something to your liking. Christine our Thomas Cook rep was excellent and was always available when needed, and very good at organising trips and competitions etc.
Would definitely use this Hotel again espcially for long stay.

The Arsinoe Beach Hotel was a very nice and friendly hotel. The rooms were spotless clean and we had fresh towels everyday throughout our 7 night stay. There was a wide selection of food at breakfast time and dinner time. The food was not the best, however we have had alot worse. We didn't feel the need togo out to eat, although some of the other guests did. There are plenty of bars etc nearby. There is free parking opposite the hotel just incase you hire a car. The hotel is situated on the main road into Limassol although Limassol is around 4 miles away. This main road becomes very busy at night time with what seemed to be boy racers. On a couple of nights this loud traffic noise went on to around 5am. We did have a couple of nights with broken sleep. Our room had satelite tv with 3 english channels, we also had a nice sea view. The indoor swimming pool was nice but requires updating etc. We would recommend the Arsinoe beach Hotel to anyone who wants a no frills holiday. We paid £200 each for half board including flights and transfers for 1 week. Across the main road there is a path down to a very nice beach. There is a regular bus service into Limassol.

I visited this hotel in October. I thought that the tea was lovely, but the breakfast was vile. We ate at Rebecca’s every morning, but the first.
The rooms never got cleaned until midday, the waiters were very friendly and the bar staff were amazing.
The entertainment was appalling and there was nothing to do for the younger generation.
If it wasn’t for the bar staff and the lovely people we met over there I don’t know what we would do - it was atrocious!

The hotel was clean and comfortable. The decor is a bit tired and rather bizarre for a Mediterranean hotel. Wallpaper and carpets in the two rooms we had.
We were on a half board basis but only ate dinner in the hotel twice in seven days, the food was school dinners minus.
Breakfast at times was like a Rugby scrum, unless you were prepared to push and shove you could end up getting nothing.
Would I go back? No!

Just got back from this hotel in Limassol. It was very disappointing. I picked the hotel for having 3 swimming pools, sky TV and evening entertainment.
The pools were nothing like the brochure and too small in peak season I would imagine. The sky TV only had world news in English. The evening entertainment was almost non existent even outside of the hotel. It relied on a singer who actually made the words up to some songs and they were unrecognisable.
The food was very bland and the only saving grace for this hotel was the staff that went out of their way to be polite and friendly. This hotel has a very old clientele and this should be made clear in the brochure as anyone under the age of 65 was bored out of their minds by the hotel and the area surrounding.

Recently returned from a 2 week holiday staying at the Arsinoe Beach Hotel, Limassol, Cyprus and would not recommend this hotel to anyone. I've been to Cyprus before and also stayed in the Limassol area. I was a little anxious after reading the write ups of this hotel where some people had said it was terrible whilst others said it was good. I decided that the only way to find out was to see for myself !
I arrived at 12.30am on 03.09.07 to be met by a cigarette smoke filled reception with loud Karaoke going on in the bar. I wasn't too impressed to say the least especially as none of the lifts were working (as read in previous reports). The hotel room was small by modern standards and basically furnished. The wardrobe doors could only be opened by kneeling on one of the beds and the safe was located in the bottom of this. Not very convenient for opening and closing. Thankfully the air conditioning was working which was a big bonus, and was a real positive.
Although the hotel breakfast (7am - 9am) were somewhat repetitive with cold meats, beans, salad and cereals available, however, there was always something you could find to eat. Although if you went down after 8.30 there would only be scraps left - which the hotel saw no point in replenishing for other guests. This also happened during the evening meals - if you didn't go down early, there wasn't much food left over. Having said that the food was extremely bland and could do with improvement.
Whilst there, we had a hotel barbecue night which was more like the remnants of a bonfire. The food was appalling and a good deal of hotel guests were complaining about it to the maitre'd. The evening entertainment is also dire, with a choice of either middle aged men "trying to sing" and maybe hitting the right note once in a while, or Cypriot dancing- which is nice the first time you see it, but night after night becomes a bit stale.
The pool areas and bedrooms are all kept quite clean, but I found only a few of the staff friendly and not as welcoming as I had been lead to believe. Although the description of this hotel is that it is located on a coastal road, all I can say is that the road was more like a drag racing strip - especially at night where young local lads race their souped up cars up and down the road at ridiculous speeds trying to out race one another. This noise also spoils things when you go for a quiet drink at night as most bars are located along the coast road.
All I can say is that this hotel was once probably quite nice in it's day, but is now past it's sell-by date with the preformed concrete cracking severely in places. If I return to Cyprus, I wouldn't stay at this hotel again as the money we spent on eating out I would rather put towards a better hotel. They say that you get what you pay for at nearly £760 for 2 weeks each I was expecting a lot more from this hotel. If you like noise, cigarette smoke, small rooms and poor food, this is certainly the hotel for you - If not avoid it like the plague.
