The hotel was clean and comfortable. The decor is a bit tired and rather bizarre for a Mediterranean hotel. Wallpaper and carpets in the two rooms we had.
We were on a half board basis but only ate dinner in the hotel twice in seven days, the food was school dinners minus.
Breakfast at times was like a Rugby scrum, unless you were prepared to push and shove you could end up getting nothing.
Would I go back? No!

Just got back from this hotel in Limassol. It was very disappointing. I picked the hotel for having 3 swimming pools, sky TV and evening entertainment.
The pools were nothing like the brochure and too small in peak season I would imagine. The sky TV only had world news in English. The evening entertainment was almost non existent even outside of the hotel. It relied on a singer who actually made the words up to some songs and they were unrecognisable.
The food was very bland and the only saving grace for this hotel was the staff that went out of their way to be polite and friendly. This hotel has a very old clientele and this should be made clear in the brochure as anyone under the age of 65 was bored out of their minds by the hotel and the area surrounding.

Recently returned from a 2 week holiday staying at the Arsinoe Beach Hotel, Limassol, Cyprus and would not recommend this hotel to anyone. I've been to Cyprus before and also stayed in the Limassol area. I was a little anxious after reading the write ups of this hotel where some people had said it was terrible whilst others said it was good. I decided that the only way to find out was to see for myself !
I arrived at 12.30am on 03.09.07 to be met by a cigarette smoke filled reception with loud Karaoke going on in the bar. I wasn't too impressed to say the least especially as none of the lifts were working (as read in previous reports). The hotel room was small by modern standards and basically furnished. The wardrobe doors could only be opened by kneeling on one of the beds and the safe was located in the bottom of this. Not very convenient for opening and closing. Thankfully the air conditioning was working which was a big bonus, and was a real positive.
Although the hotel breakfast (7am - 9am) were somewhat repetitive with cold meats, beans, salad and cereals available, however, there was always something you could find to eat. Although if you went down after 8.30 there would only be scraps left - which the hotel saw no point in replenishing for other guests. This also happened during the evening meals - if you didn't go down early, there wasn't much food left over. Having said that the food was extremely bland and could do with improvement.
Whilst there, we had a hotel barbecue night which was more like the remnants of a bonfire. The food was appalling and a good deal of hotel guests were complaining about it to the maitre'd. The evening entertainment is also dire, with a choice of either middle aged men "trying to sing" and maybe hitting the right note once in a while, or Cypriot dancing- which is nice the first time you see it, but night after night becomes a bit stale.
The pool areas and bedrooms are all kept quite clean, but I found only a few of the staff friendly and not as welcoming as I had been lead to believe. Although the description of this hotel is that it is located on a coastal road, all I can say is that the road was more like a drag racing strip - especially at night where young local lads race their souped up cars up and down the road at ridiculous speeds trying to out race one another. This noise also spoils things when you go for a quiet drink at night as most bars are located along the coast road.
All I can say is that this hotel was once probably quite nice in it's day, but is now past it's sell-by date with the preformed concrete cracking severely in places. If I return to Cyprus, I wouldn't stay at this hotel again as the money we spent on eating out I would rather put towards a better hotel. They say that you get what you pay for at nearly £760 for 2 weeks each I was expecting a lot more from this hotel. If you like noise, cigarette smoke, small rooms and poor food, this is certainly the hotel for you - If not avoid it like the plague.

This hotel was fantastic, I cant believe it only has a 3 star rating! The rooms were so clean and they had plenty of space with a class view from the balcony. There are plenty of facilities in the hotel to keep you entertained.
The variety of food for breakfast and dinner was unbelievable. I would be one of the fussiest eaters around but was never stuck for something to eat as there was a bbq night, Italian night, Greek night etc.
I cant put into words how friendly, funny and generous the staff were, especially the bar staff! Them guys had me laughing from morning to evening and I cant remember seeing one of them without a smile on their face. Thanks lads for the best holiday ever!!!
I will be returning to the Arsinoe Hotel in the near future.

Having just returned from 2 weeks at the Arsinoe Hotel, my son and I were disappointed to say the least, apart from the staff who work very hard it must be said, there's not a lot of good things to say.
The pools were dirty, rooms not to good either, very basic and outdated. Not a lot going on during the daytime, a bit of music round the pool would be a good idea!
The food was ok, nothing to write home about if you like salad and more salad then more salad.
Now the best bit!!! the ENTERTAINMENT, ok if you like the same thing over and over again, not really!!! It was VERY VERY POOR to say the least.
The Arsinoe Hotel is ok if you want to be bored during the daytime and feel even more bored at night watching the entertainment. Not suitable for family's with young children as they will be bored all day and night as well.
Would not go back to the Arsinoe to stay but would call in for a drink with George and Yannis. Overall I would rate it 6 out of 10.

Fantastic is all I can say. The staff were amazingly friendly.
I wanted my bed moved into my friend’s room from my parents, and they happily did it, and moved it back when I asked them to. There were lots to do in the Hotel its self, not one minute was I bored.
Shops, bars, car rental places, beach was all near. The food was great especially them puddings, hmmm yum yum. Am definitely staying there again. Thanks Arsinoe for the best holiday ever!

Stayed at the Arsinoe in April as was going to a friend’s wedding at the Elias Beach Hotel. The reception area and surrounding bar area are immaculate.
There is a happy hour which was on from 9.30 to 10.30 - the drinks instead of being two for one are half price. I could not believe how cheap they were, as hotels are normally rip off joints!
They have some entertainment on in the hotel but unless you are over 65 I would give it a miss, bingo, Play Your Cards Right, Deal or No Deal etc etc. I think this could have been because it was out of season and there were quite a lot of elderly people there (all of whom were very nice!).
The rooms are very basic, clean but could do with a lick of paint, quite spacious in comparison to some rooms I have stayed in.
The pool area is kept very clean and as out of season always plenty of sun beds, can't imagine it will be the same in season though - so get there early.
The breakfasts are quite monotonous, although if you like fresh fruit salad and muesli you will be ok. It was delicious, the omelettes leave a bit to be desired.
The evening meals are great, only going for a week you did not get bored of the selection, lovely fresh salads and a choice of hot meals i.e.: chicken wings, beef stroganoff and rice.
The deserts (so I’m told my by husband) are delicious too and always quite a good selection along with fresh fruit.
The beach is dire, did not venture into the sea as was scared of catching something.
The hotel is a little way out of the centre about a 20 minute walk - there is a bus stop opposite the hotel with a bus every half hour (out of season).
There is also a 24 hour bakery about a 15 minute walk up the road on the same side as hotel -- you have never seen a selection of cakes and sandwiches like it in your life!!
Nice bar next door but three to the hotel called Rums and also Rebecca’s out of the front of hotel and turn left couple of restaurants up.
Good night out is Step Inn Bar in town centre, you can also enter nightclub downstairs free of charge from here, so worth going just for that.
There is the usual KFC, Burger King, and McDonalds & Pizza Hut for those like my daughter who do not believe in eating foreign food!

The brochure says 3* but it should be more than that, it is a beautiful hotel. The members of staff were wonderful; too many George's and my dad is also called George.
We were a large group my parents, 4 in my family, 4 in one of my brothers family and one in another brothers family. We went to Cyprus because both of my brothers got married there; they had their reception at the hotel.
They provided the wedding cake and the drinks. It was also lovely to watch the Greek weddings that were being held there.
It was nice to see that they had a play park for the children because not many hotels provide them. The beach was across the main road where there was another park, which really made my 2 daughters holiday, pool-park-beach.
We all enjoyed the food and we all gained a lot of weight. The children can have a meal of their own earlier or have it provided while the adults have theirs.
I am going back in 2008 and I will be taking another member of my family. My oldest daughter wants to go back to Arsinoe Beach Hotel but if we don't then she will stay there by herself and she is only 10 yrs.

We went on Holiday to the Arsinoe last year and the whole time I was there I couldn’t help but think about the bad reviews this hotel had received. When I got back I completely forgot to write a review until today.
I have traveled the world and stayed at 5* hotels in Dubai (after living there for 10 years) Thailand, Turkey, Egypt and many others.( don’t think I’m a snob just thought I would let you know what I have to compare it to) This hotel is fantastic and I could actually compare this to 5* hotels.
I was amazed how friendly the staff were and the maids left the rooms clean which is obviously an important factor. I was so pleased with the location. Our room wasn’t the best in the hotel with views over the smallest pool but everything else made up for that. The food is good, except when it’s really hot you have to eat outside which isn’t always comfortable.
I would like to warn you, however that there is a hotel down the road I think it was called the Golden Sand DO NOT GO THERE to change your money!! Try Il Sapore it was Fantastic the food was great.
Please read this in the way it was written I really believe anyone here could have a fantastic time (family, couple which I was, even on your own you make friends) Karaoke can be interesting :-)
Enjoy your holiday

Before leaving for Cyrpus I read a handful of bad reviews for the arsinoe as well as the good ones so couldn’t help but feel nervous about what it was like. To all those people who wrote the bad ones - you must be blind! The hotel was absolutely gorgeous and all staff very friendly (George says hello to everyone!)
The room was left sparkling by the maids every morning, not a lot more to ask for! The pool was great, very scenic and we spent most of our days in it! The hotel and limassol as a whole caters all ages in my opinion, lots of pubs, restaurants, beaches, water sports, and tourist areas. 3* is an underestimate for the hotel and anyone booking a holiday there has nothing to worry about.

Just back from 2 weeks holiday on half board basis with my husband and 2 sons age 10 and 13.We wanted a relaxing holiday and that’s what we got. The location was good. Not too near all the clubs/discos but easy to reach by car/taxi if you wished.
Across the road from a small, dark sandy beach. Tourist shops, bars and cafes to both sides of the hotel. Two bedrooms were very clean but could have done with decorating to bring it up to date and being a bit bigger too. The whole hotel was very clean and we received a warm welcome, even arriving at 2am!(only 1 receptionist was miserable and not very helpful).
Good selection buffet breakfast: English, fruit, yoghurt, cereal, ham, cheese, croissant,
Toast (always a queue by the toaster) etc. The evening menu was always soup, fish/meat salad, main course, desert, fruit. The food was nice but got a bit repetitive after a while.
The meat could be dry and there were usually lots of bones and fat. Always a big rush in at 7.30pm so go a bit later if you can wait. The children usually found something they liked but not on a couple of occaisions. Children’s meals could be ordered for 5pm at no extra cost .burgers, nuggets etc. Greek+Cypriot night were good. Got pulled up to join in traditional dancing.
Glad got to meet George,Yanis,Alex,Costas etc as they were everything and more that others have mentioned. Very friendly and entertaining. Entertainment was not very good in evening, 2 karaoke nights, 3 nights of man with guitar singing usually out of tune, bingo/quiz night and 10 min magic show.
Doreen was good with children during the day and aqua aerobics was good fun. (Yeeeehah). We went on jet ski on beach 18 cyp for 2 of us for 15 min. boys loved it. Usually got a sun bed/umbrella by 8.30 am, and yes you had to put towel on to keep it. Always some free by small pool but lots of shade so much cooler, boys liked pool table ,xbox, internet, games etc.50c a time.
Fasouri water park is brill, the only trip that is cheaper to book with rep than other agent, pizza hut, mcdonalds, burger king etc if you miss them. Need to get a bus tho, too far to walk in heat, we did it once plenty of places to eat near hotel. Can buy rolls/wraps/donuts from sandiz next to hotel.
Fridge a good idea to hire ,10cyp per week.can get pool towels from health spa for 10 cyp deposit and change daily. Not always staffed though. Probably not ideal for late teens, twenties that want a lively holiday.

I visited this hotel in October. I thought that the tea was lovely, but the breakfast was vile. We ate at Rebecca’s every morning, but the first.
The rooms never got cleaned until midday, the waiters were very friendly and the bar staff were amazing.
The entertainment was appalling and there was nothing to do for the younger generation.
If it wasn’t for the bar staff and the lovely people we met over there I don’t know what we would do - it was atrocious!
