My wife and I have just spent two weeks all inclusive at the Venus Beach and found it very good value for money.(Sept 2011) I have read some of the other reports and whilst I agree its not the Elysium next door, it does not charge the Elysium prices. The staff are very... more

We are just back from a week at this hotel. I was with my husband and 2 friends . This in my opinion is not a 5 star hotel but a 3 star at best. We booked this hotel in January this year on an All Inclusive basis. We did not get the rooms we had originally booked, but the... more

My boyfriend and I stayed at the Venus Beach after booking it with 17 hours notice! I quickly read the reviews on here but thought the best way was to see for ourselves. Upon arriving at the hotel we were quite impressed, it was not the most modern of hotels but very clean... more

IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR CHILDREN!! The Hotel itself wasn't too bad and the area it was in was a good spot just outside of Paphos centre. Although me and my boyfriend (both age 18) did have a very nice week away we noticed one vital downside to the hotel. The beach that... more

I booked this holiday as a 40th birthday surprise for my partner, we arrived there and even though I was half board, I was asked for my credit card details and 400 euros was taken from my account, after questioning this, the amount was returned to my account. I thought this... more

2/3* advertised as opulent 5*
Room shabby and dirty, corridor smelly, carpet stained. Bottom of bath badly stained, could not remove with cleaning wipes, wall tile grout stained, floor tiles cracked and grout missing. Arrived late so cleaned as much as possible and decided to make the best of it. During the week meals and cleaning deteriorated, could not stand it any longer so requested a transfer. Other rooms offered were unacceptable so were transferred to 4* hotel which was excellent. more
needs re-vamp 80's style..NOT 5 *
Venus beach was maybe nice in 1980, 26 yrs on its totally out of date, there is a award in reception with proof of the 5 stars, which is DATED 1984!!!!!!!!!!!! the carpet in our room was brown yuck, it was decorated badly. the weather april was overcast when we were there, no sun. the pool area was nice, clean, lots of sunbeds. towels provided for sunbathing. the food for dinner in half board was terrrible!!! Breakfasts were nice though. the hotel drinks were OVERPRICED. Generally nice staff. The BEST... more
A 5* hotel - in its dreams!
Having read with trepidation the reviews on trip advisor prior to my holiday - I must agree with the majority of people who say it is more 3* than 5*. I stayed at hotel between 18th and 25th October 2006. I was travelling alone, and booked my holiday using Airmiles. No problem at all on arrival at reception and found the staff to be helpful and after a couple of days they recognised me and were happy to chat. The room I was allocated was a double for single use on 5th floor with a view over front of hotel. There was slight noise... more
Beware not what the travel agent says it is
We stayed at The Venus Beach Hotel for the alst 2 weeks of September and what a Big dissappointment it turned out to be. First impressions were good. The lobby area was clean and welcoming. We were greeted by the door man who duly took our luggage to our room. The receptionist was friendly and helpful. We had upgraded to a superior full sea view room and have since decided that it was not worth the £325 £GB it cost us. We got a bigger room, full sea view, recliner deckchairs on the balcony, fresh fruit, bottle of red wine( oh sorry red... more
Worst Hotel we've stayed in
My husband and I booked to stay in this hotel as it had been advertised as a 5*. The corridors were smelly. The bath robes provided had dubious brown stains in them. The towels were threadbare. Our beds were not made up the first day. The room carpet was never vacuumed at all during our stay. I had to change my own light bulb. The staff were grumpy, untrained and we felt that we were not welcome. One waitress put her elbow into my food as she placed the water on the table. The food is below the standard expected in a 5*. After we took... more
Venus Beach - 3* hotel, 5* prices
Having read the earlier reviews we had a few concerns about staying at this hotel but, as seasoned travellers, tend not to worry too much as reviews can be dependent upon varying factors. We booked about 8 weeks before through air miles and were therefore a little limited in hotel choice. Interestingly air miles only quoted the hotel as a 4* rather than the 5* that appeared on the hotel entrance. We were only staying on a bed and breakfast basis, for which we were ultimately very grateful. First impressions are quite good. The... more
What a dump, not 5 star
We visited the Venus beach for our honeymoon, what a great disapointment. We were told by the Travel Agent that this hotel was dripping in luxury, this was definatley not the case. Our opinion is that this hotel is a 3 star at best. On arrival in our room we were very disappointed. The rooms are defintaley in need of updating the rooms and bathroom are definatley not 5 star the air conditioning was poor and did not keep the room cool at all. The majority of staff were not helpful or pleasant. The lifts were dangerous. We had our... more
Not A 5*
We have just arrived home from a two week stay in the Venus Beach Hotel, Before we went we read a few reviews and decided to go there open minded. When we arrived our first impression was ok but we could see that it wasnt a 5*. The breakfast area was very basic and was not much to choose from,It was very basic. You can get your towels from the pool area but i would advise you to bring your own as they are not very nice, Some of them are old and tatty. Being a 5* you would expect the food to be of a high standard as it is... more
Not 5* but a 3++ to 4*
We booked Venus Beach as a last minute holiday and therefore was not our first choice. The hotel is located just outside Paphos next to the Tomb of Kings archeological site. We were there from August Bank Holiday for one week. The hotel was very quiet so we did not encounter any problems previous reviewers experienced due to full capacity. The main public areas of the hotel, reception, lounges, swimming pool area and beach garden were very kept very clean. Outside the gardens and pool area were very pleasant, with plenty... more
relaxing holiday in lovely hotel
it was the first time I had been abroad in many years (sometime in the eighties!) and I was pleasantly suprised by how friendly the people were. Cypriots are very honest people too. When we arrived last Wednesday I requested late check out and passed them my Credit card for payment. on arriving in our room I received a call saying that there was no need to pay for this and refunded my card in full! We were no only allowed to stay in our rooms untill departing at 11pm but we were given a free evening meal in the hotel too..! The hotel... more
