great value for money
we have just returned from a 1 night stay in the glen mhor. our front facing / river view acommodation was excellent, a large living area, with double sofa bed and flat screen tv, huge bedroom with king size sleigh bed, flat screen tv, and a huge bathroom, double sinks and walk in shower. all rooms were very warm and clean. we had booked b&b, the breakfast was very good, however the waiting staff were a bit disorganised. although the bathroom was beatiful, there were 3 of us staying and only enough hot water for 1 shower. The hotel is... more

Dear 'great value for money,' Thank you for posting your comments following your very recent stay at the Glen Mhor Hotel Inverness. I am pleased that you enjoyed your stay and would have no hesitation in returning again in the future. We hope you do before too long! You did indeed stay in one of our fabulous newly re-furbished bedrooms. They are very special and certainly the ones over looking the river have exceptional views. I am sorry breakfast was slightly dis-organised. I take your comment constructively and have discussed the issue with my Food & Beverage Manager who joins me in offering our sincere apologies. At this time of year there are certainly good deals to be had when booking hotel accommodation and I am delighted you were able to take advantage of this. Once again many thanks for your positive comments and I hope we will have an opportunity to welcome you to the Glen Mhor in the future. Kind regards R Ratcliffe General Manager

Weekend Break
Glen Mhor Hotel Inverness. Date 23 and 24th January 2009 We have stayed in the Glen Mhor on a couple of occasions and have always enjoyed it but this time we were in one of the newly refurbished rooms and and were very impressed. It was a very cold evening and it was so nice on entering the room to find it so cosy and warm. The decor is very stylish with a really good sized bed and the bathroom is well done out with a fantastic shower. A couple of suggestions to make it even better. Another arm chair in the room and a box of... more

Dear Weekend Break, Thank you for your positive and constructive comments posted recently following your stay at the Glen Mhor Hotel. You were indeed staying in one of our newly re-furbished bedrooms of which we are duly proud. We do have plans to re-furbish other areas of the hotel in the future which may well include the bar. Thank you once again. I hope to have the pleasure of welcoming you back to the hotel in the near future. Kind Regards RR General Manager.

dissapointing
Very impressed on arrival at hotel, given a lovely room, nice and clean, newly decorated I imagined. What was meant to be a romantic weekend (we were getting engaged) totally blighted by a thief. Left the hotel in the evening to go for a meal, came back after 9pm. after enjoying a lovely breakfast, we went to prepare to leave to discover that two gold rings were missing. Be very careful when staying at this hotel, reported the theft to the manager but had no joy, We now feel extremely cheated as these rings were of great sentimental... more

Dear Disappointed, Thank you for giving me an opportunity to respond to your posting on Tripadvisor. Firstly I am pleased you found your arrival welcoming and stayed in one of our newly re-furbished bedrooms. However I would like to respond to your comments without predujice, and state the facts from the hotels perspective. As you know, I was aware of the alleged described incident at the time you reported the missing rings. My Duty Manager took a full detailed statement from you and handed this over to the police when they arrived soon after you had departed the hotel. We provided a list of staff on duty during the time you were here which was not difficult as it was a very quiet evening. It was then agreed that the police would contact yourself which I presume they did then decide upon the next course of action. For your information I have not heard from the police. If I do and they wish to interview the staff who were on duty I would happily co-operate with their investigation. However they have not been in touch. I can categorically say that we have not in the past had a similar issue concerning guests possessions in bedrooms. I am disappointed that you felt is neccessary to post on Tripadvisor when surely this is a matter between yourself, the police and the hotel. It is also grossly unfair to intimate that there is a thief amongst my staff without a shred of evidence. Trust me, if I suspected anyone and I felt they had a case to answer, I would commence disciplinary proceedings without question. Thank you again for giving me an opportunity to reply. Yours Sincerely, R Ratcliffe General Manager.

Boxing Day Nightmare
Dropped in to the Glen Mhor for a drink on boxing day with family and friends. Had a wonderful Christmas the previous day and it was a terrible shame to have it spoilt by the rude and obnoxious staff at the Glen Mhor. We were welcomed by staff smoking at the front door and their grumbling upon our arrival. Tried to enjoy a few drinks in the bar, however it was freezing cold and no music, thus resulting in a bad experience. NO HIGHLAND HOSPITALITY!!!!!!!!

Dear Ben Fraser, Thank you for your comments posted recently on trip adsvisor. Firstly I would sincerely like to apologise for the apparent lack of Highland hospitality as described in your posting. I have thoroughly investigated your comments and would welcome an opportunity to discuss these with you. I can be contacted on Inverness (01463) 234308 or 252230 (direct). I look forward to speaking to you regarding this matter. Kind Regards Robert Ratcliffe General Manager

Warm welcome
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Glen Mhor, would not hesitate to recommend it. Very spacious room overlooking the river, big bathroom with powerful shower, the room was very warm, ideal for the Scottish weather. The Highlander breakfast was just the thing to set you up for the cold weather, especially liked the Haggis. The staff were friendly and well turned out. The bar and reception had a roaring fire to, great value as we managed to book for £60 a night.

Okay, Clean some staff issues
On first impressions the Hotel is lovely. It is set on the leafy banks of the River Ness in Inverness. Hotel directions were very clear and we found it easily. Our room was on the top floor. I did not see a lift, so I don't think I would recommend the hotel to anyone who has walking difficulties or has a wheelchair. Myself and my Husband had one of the newly refurbished rooms with a huge walk in shower - the best shower in the world! No bath though, not a big issue for us, but maybe someone else. We stayed on a B&B basis.... more

Better than last year
Had a three night stay at Glenmhor. Stayed in same room as last year but was completely refurbished. Felt like I was staying in five star room in a three star hotel. The bed was fit for a king. Ate in Nicos restaurant two times as steaks were fantastic. Breakfast by the river was pretty good too

Fell in Love with Glen Mhor
My husband and I fell in love with this hotel which is located on the River Ness. From our lovely room we could see the river and the sights nearby. The room itself was well furnished with the bed being one of THE most comfortable beds I have ever slept in at a hotel. We had a seperate tub and shower in the bathroom and loved the large flat screen TV. The location is perfect for walking around downtown Inverness. The breakfast was nice and relaxed. Would I stay there again??? In a heartbeat! Note....I didn't see any signs or hear any... more

Recent Remodel Successful
My wife and I stayed three nights at the Glen Mohr in early June. We were thoroughly pleased with every aspect. We had a room at the top of the stairs on the second floor (top floor) in the main building with a river view. The room was very large and was apparently recently remodeled. The bathroom was very nice with a great shower and a separate bathtub. The room had a flat screen tv and a great view of the River Ness. Breafast was very good with several choices including eggs cooked to order. Reception personnel were very... more

Refurbished rooms were nice and comfortable
We just returned from a short trip to Scotland. During our stay, we took a Rabbies tour of the highlands. They booked our room at the Glen Mohr and as luck would have it, we were placed in one of the rooms that had recently been refurbished. The room was brightly decorated and the bed was large and comfortable. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I would recommend this hotel as the location was also great. We had a wonderful view of the river and only a block away from the castle. We did see one of the rooms that had not be... more
