The Cherwood

Wonderful little B&B. Pauline is a character along with her assistant. The room was nice, has TV, Freeview and DVD player - everything you need to watch a film at the end of the day. 1 minute walking and you are at the beach. A few minutes more and you are on the high street. Great location. Parking was included in the room rate, as was an excellent full English breakfast that Pauline cooked up, with local ingredients. Excellent!

Absolutely fantastic! Pauline and her side-kick Sue give their best every year. Have stayed a number of times and ALWAYS have superb service! Excellent food (too much! - is that possible?) great location, lovely rooms - everything you could wish for and more! Will be back again as soon as we can! TrinaB&family

What can i say, another gr8 week staying at the Cherwood, 5 star service and lovely place to stay. Huge breakfast too and everything that you could ever want, nothing is too much trouble for Pauline n Sue. Already booked in for next year, would highly recommend

My wife and I have just returned from a four night stay at The Cherwood. We were made welcome as soon as we arrived, with Pauline carrying my wife's case up to our room. The room itself was spotless, with everything you could possibly want, and Pauline explained everything straight away i.e. how to work the TV and recorder and the times for breakfast etc. She also suggested several places for evening meals and how to get there. The breakfast was superb. Well cooked, using fresh local produce it was truly a memorable experience.... more

Well what can I say about the Cherwood ! Very good service from the owner and her staff ,room was lovely breakfast each morning . very close to the sea front Would recommend value for money now the only bad point is that we had to go home

we have just returned home from a fantastic holiday in paignton at the cherwood hotel , we were so glad we chose this hotel, having read the reviews before we thought could it really be this good ! but we would like to asure anyone reading this that it's BETTER! The sevice is second to none, rooms very clean and bright , outsanding value for money, the little added touches are really cute , great location all amenities are no nore than a very short walk away . We had a great couple of days stay at the Cherwood hotel, a return to the Torbay area after some 20 yrs. The location was central to Paignton and an ideal base for touring the area. Pauline our host, made us most welcome and the accommodation was clean and bright with an en-suite facilities, a flat screen TV and mini fridge. The breakfast was 1st rate, a good selection with some locally sourced produce and set us up for the day. I stayed at the Cherwood hotel after having to make a short trip to Paignton earlier this month. My room was clean and bright with an en-suite shower, flat screen TV, mini fridge and facilities for making tea and coffee. Pauline the hotel manager was lovely and I highly recommend her cooked breakfast!!

This is a fantastic hotel. The breakfasts had an extremely personal touch as did the service and general hotel feeling. (I even had a little teddy bear on my bed when I arrived!) Pauline made me feel welcome the moment I arrived, carrying my rather large bag to my room on the first floor, showing me the facilities and offering tips and advice to a young and single female traveller unfamiliar with the area. From seeing the Cherwood's highly personal website, I knew that this was not going to be your usual guest house experience, and I was right. Pauline, the resident host, treated us like long lost friends from the moment we arrived, and that's the way it stayed. All details were attended to, and the food was plentiful and delicious. Quiet, spotless, and highly recommended.
