The Waterside Hotel

Stayed as guests at this venue because the wedding was being held there. Was impressed with bar area and service during the initial part of the stay. Location and view of water was pleasant. Proximity to town was a short but doable walk. Drink and food serving times were a little limited (ie not much offered into the night) and staff service levels dropped off after the wedding.

A group of 11 Australians including children and grandparents stayed at Felstead House a new addition to the Waterside Hotel accommodation on the Ness Bank Inverness. We have all stayed in many places throughout the world therefore our expectations are always high. Position of Felstead House is second to none. Stayed here for one night with my wife in Sept. Great location, easy walk to town centre, room clean and comfortable, reasonable size, bathroom clean and efficient, staff friendly and helpful, dinner and drinks available, breakfast good. Nothing but praise and would certainly stay here again

Stayed for one night at the waterside late October. The hotel reception staff were friendly enough but a bit more effort could have been made I thought in terms of polite consevation. We stayed in room 110 which overlooked the car park at the back of the hotel. The room was small, basic but very clean, The bed i thought was excellent!. Took onboard previous reviews and headed out for our weekend away,with some apprehention. Arrived in the evening sunshine and as advertised on the banks of the river ness, parked the car up and proceeded to check in . This was dealt with in a freindly manner ,no problems . This is our second visit to this hotel and we were not disapointed we had booked the same room as last year and it was every bit a fresh and clean as it was last time very spacious and spotless. The food in the restaurant is second to none, the staff were fantatic Very attentive. the day we left we booked again for next year, that's how good it is.

This hotel's staff are shockingly incompetent. My husband is running the Loch Ness marathon, booked this hotel in July and travelled 6 hours to get to Inverness only to have the following occur upon his arrival. My husband actually did not stay there because they did not honour his booking through Octopus (even though he had a printed confirmation sheet). Dont know what to make of this hotel. We enjoyed the Waterside. The rooms were newly renovated and quite comfortable. The bar and restaurant were both perfectly fine. The location is very convenient for shopping and restaurants in Inverness, and the hotel makes a great base for day trips to Loch Ness, Glen Affric, castles etc. The staff is accommodating, and the breakfast is comprehensive. I have stayed at this hotel at least twice a year for the last 5 years due to its convenient location. It is very central so I am able to park and easily walk to my business appointment. Some years back I reviewed this hotel and gave it a very good write up as then it was one of the best small hotels in Scotland. Unfortunately it is no longer able to maintain those high standards.
