Southern Surf Beach Apartments

This is the second time I'm writing a review on this hotel/apt complex I just cant say enough good things about it.This was our second stay there and it is still really great.We stayed in room 1 wich is a deluxe studio apt with all the comforts of home ,two double beds small kitchen nice little balcony we would sit out on early in the morn and at night to watch the waves crash on the lovely beach across the street or just to feed the friendly little birds who came morn and night for a handout.They have redone the railings on the balconys and... more

I just came back from Barbados with my three children, two teenagers and one preteen. We stayed at Southern Surf Beach Apartments from April 18th through April 26th, 2006. From the time we arrived I knew I had made a good choice. Fabia, the front desk receptionist was helpful, always pleasant. Lara the manager, also very pleasant. Derek was also very nice. My first trip to Barbados was made even better by finding the Southern Surf Apartments. Thanks to everyone who posted reviews, they really helped and were pretty accurate. My stay was the last week in March 2006. My first impression walking into the apartment was good. Number five, is a studio king. We stayed at the Southern Surf for the first week of February '06. Let me put it this way. If we had arrived in Barbados and had a chance to look around before choosing a hotel I still would have chosen to stay here. The swimming beach was beautiful(once on the beach though I would take a very short walk north to avoid a bit of a rocky area)The shops and restaurants are everywhere within walking distance, even a laundry service. I went to Barbados in March 2005 and picked SSBA because of the good reviews on tripadvisor. I must say that the hotel is great. The management was really great. We had our room on second floors corner towards the street and sea. A lot of space, air condition and great kitchen. We also loved the balcony. The other guests were very nice people and after the beach we always gathered around the pool. The beds had quite hard madrasses which I like a lot. My wife and I, senior travelers, just had the extreme pleasure of staying at this property. My comments,which would be many if categorized, are all positive. I would recommend this property to anyone that is interested in value,location and hospitality.

I can only reiterate the positive reviews of the Southern Surf apartments. The location is absolutely fantastic - across the road from the beautiful Rockley beach, and a 15-20 minute walk to St Lawrence Gap. As 2 girls on holiday, we had no problem with this walk (although we did get a taxi back - B$15). Apartments were kept meticulously clean and although basic provided everything you need. We echo the other reviews posted about this hotel. It is clean, in a very good location and is quite affordable. It's down the road from a couple of grocery stores so we were able to eat in several times. The location across from the soft, sandy beach was excellent. The management was quite responsive to us and also stated their expectations quite clearly (i.e. return your beach towel or pay $25; hose of your flip flops so you don't track sand in the room), which we appreciated. A really good value hotel.

My wife and I, together with a couple from Bergen, Norway, are just home from 12 lovely days in November at Southern Surf Beach Apartments in Barbados. Southern Surf is not big (only 14 rooms I think) but with an excellent location close to Accra/Rockley beach. The staff was friendly and did the best they could to let us feel just like home. Our decision to stay at Southern Surf beach apartment hotel was based on the positive reviews posted and they were accurate as we experienced exactly what was written by the past guests. We highly recommend this hotel to anyone wanting a place to stay without having to spend a ridiculous amount of money.
