Manchebo Beach Resort & Spa

We just got back from our honeymoon in Aruba. Stayed 2 nights at Manchebo and then 4 nights at Marriott Stellaris (on a time share preview package). According to tripadvisor, the average price for manchebo is $199 a night and marriott is $469 per night. We liked both of them, but there are tons of reasons we'd go with Manchebo if we went back besides the great value: 1. We just got back from a wonderful stay at the Manchebo. This was our first trip to Aruba, but we have stayed at many different areas of the Carribean. Here is a summary of the resort/island: Resort: The rooms were a good size and the maid service was excellent. The shower had good water pressure. My wife and I just got back from seven days at the Manchebo Beach Resort. This was without a doubt, the best vacation we ever had. We wanted a smaller resort, less congestion, and a great beach. Manchebo was all of that and more. It had a little store, prices very reasonable. It had three resturants, all very nice. But, by far, the best aspect was the beach and ocean. Just got back from a week at the Manchebo Beach Resort on Aruba. The most beautiful beach - the staff was very attentive, the room very clean, maid service excellent, bar staff a lot of fun! Everyone was very friendly and helpful. This is not a 5 star hotel - if that is what you are looking for - but it is in a great location - and the small intimate feel was perfect for us. We stayed at the Manchebo for a week in March and it was absolutely awesome. It was our first trip to Aruba. Actually we planned to spend our forthnightstay in Bonaire, but as we have seen we could easily move to Aruba with a small plane we decided to split our trip into two different places. If you are going to Aruba for a RELAXING vacation, this is the place for you. My boyfriend and I stayed at the Manchebo for a week in August and enjoyed every moment away from the rustle and bustle of city life. The crystal clear blue waters are just steps away from your hotel room, equipped with little hut/umbrellas that allow you to enjoy the view of the ocean in the shade if you please, on what is seemingly your own private beach. Our first vacation to Aruba and we stayed at the Manchebo for five days. We had outstanding service. Our room was clean, quiet, and pleasant. We did not spend a lot of time in our room. From our treks up and down the beach, Manchebo's beach was the best. Their beach was clean and guests were not packed in like sardines as were some of the other hotel property's guests. After reading and re-reading the hotel reviews, we booked 5 nites at Manchebo and air through Orbitz Dec. 8 - 13th. We requested a superior balcony room facing the beach (room 48). Check-in took less than 5 min. and although the room was pretty basic, we loved the fact that we had a mini-fridge, safe and coffee-maker. We stayed at the Manchebo for a week in November and had an absolute blast. The Hotel is quite old and "low rise" but quaint, in good shape and CLEAN all the same. Had a room facing the ocean which was quite nice...Room was extremely clean and maid service was on-time. Just got back from Manchebo the day before Thansgiving. If you are looking to completely veg out and do nothing but enjoy a great beach, and you don't require much in amentities or service, this is the place for you. Everything was OK, just OK. Other than the beach, which I agree was the nicest that I saw the whole time there, everything else is just OK.
