Good 3 Star Superior Holiday Inn from mulberryman
Try and ignore previous comments about this hotel from other members. It is not a hell hole, and other really negative comments. Okay the location is not that good, but the hotel as a general impression was very good. First arrived it smelt clean and fresh. Room was good 3 star standard, very clean, comp wine, fruit basket, toweling robe, and little extras in the bathroom in case you forgot anything. Take your "Holiday Inn" another hotel from bilvertsz
To start off with, I will explain the meaning of the review title. I think if you are coming to Oman for a holiday, do not stay in this hotel. If you are coming to Oman for business, a 1 or 2 night stay, the hotel is fine. But, there are a few things you should know first. The hotel is located in a sort of industrial estate and is rather difficult to find as it is down a sort of side road and several trucks park in that area blocking the signage. This place is so bad that I will never again stay at any Holiday Inn anywhere in the world. They allow their name to be used. I was there on business and just moved out early when I had time to do so. It was really sad to see people on vacation in this rat hole. Muscat is a nice spot and I have stayed in lots of nice places there, this place should be closed down.

You have no idea what a dump this place is. I really can not believe that Holiday In allow the profile of the company name to be sullied in such a fashion. The hotel is situated in the middle of an industrial area, some distance from the sea, and is currently surrounded by heavy machinery – plant and lorries and factories. In order to reach the swimming pool and heath facilities, one must leave the premises – no privacy is afforded, or, you change at the pool. The noise from the discos dies down at about 5 a.m. and is unbearable.

Holiday Hell Hole ! from 747
I have just checked out early from this hotel and am writing this review from the Gulf Air business lounge in Seeb International Airport. This hell hole is where Gulf Air now place their first and business class passengers in transit between flights. The room was disgusting. It smelt and was unclean,old and jaded with stains on the walls and the ceilings. Plenty of traffic noise to contend with as well. Noisey air conditioning. Absolute Rubbish from Rasputin_russian
I was stuck in this hotel due to a flight cancellation. The noise from the two disco's pounds in the rooms until 3PM - and the hotel attracts men seeking prosititutes from the same disco's. Food terrible - service terrible - don't go there!

Think of Hotel as good 3* not a holiday Inn from Danny100
I stayed at this place with many reservations after reading reviews. However, i found only a grain of truth in some of the reviews. We had a huge bed, not smelly or lumpy .Any smell was from perfume sprays or when the air conditioning was first turned on but soon disappeared. The facilities considering it was 3*, though plaque at front of hotel said 4*, were excellent. Had huge swimming pool to myself for a week, tennis court, adequate gym, fab service where I was given razor, shaving foam, fruit, toothbrushes etc. Fresh towels daily etc. I... more

Not that good from triple7
Have just stayed at this hotel for one night It was booked as Holiday Inns closest hotel to the airport. It is actually on an industrial area which is not that nice. I was charged 7 OMR taxi fare for a 15 min ride, The breakfast buffet cost 4.5 OMR and was absolutely awful one of the worst I have seen I know this only a 3 star but It was terrible. On the up side the hotel staff gave service with a smile and were friendly, I would not recommend staying here for more than a night and it is definately not a hotel you would use for a holiday.

worst hotel I've ever seen from A TripAdvisor Member
I am not an overly picky person, bit this place is AWFUL!!! I arrived late at night with the minimum expectation of a clean room, and some peace and quiet so as to get some sleep....but the place is so bad that after taking one look (and smell) around my room, I checked out and switched hotels. First of all, the room smelled like strong (and cheap) perfume, the sheets were dirty, there was some really loud music coming from the bar, and it's located in this industrial area... probably the only ugly part of Muscat. I will never stay there... more
