Hotel Reviera a Disapointment
3 / 10
Oct 2011, Bryan and Julie- not form Coronation Street

Having been to other 3 star hotels that offer AI deals, we did not expect 5 star accomodation,etc., but we did expect at least some thing better than we got.Room was o.k, but we did ask for a sea view, I think this got lost in translation as we got a large TREE view,blocking what would have been a nice pool and sea view. We were given a disabled room with a wet room, which attracted all sorts of wild life that appeared at night. As I am diabetic, we were led to believe that fridges were in all rooms, yes if you hired one at 50 euros.Food was of a poor standard, but entertained us both, as we played a game we called, " what will the chef make for evening meal tonight, from lunches left overs" some days we were right, some days he beat us hands down. During the daytime lunch was the best choice and we enjoyed it. As for daytime snacks, you would expect Burgers, Sandwiches, Hot dogs etc, as it is supposed to a family hotel(Children) nothing on any of the days, just Biscuits and Pastries left out for days.Pool area was the best part of this Hotel, but the pools were very, very cold. Entertainment non exhistant at weekends,only 2 nights during the week and very second rate. Bar staff very rude, the head barman had worked there for years,I think he needs to move on and take the other happy senors with him. Drinks watered down during the day, plastic cups,more ice than drink, if you went back quickly you were called xxxx greedy,Bar shuts at 23.00 hrs prompt. lights off at 23.10 then you are sent from bar area. Room balcony lights not on at night on your return. Area and Hotel rundown. Met some very nice people at the hotel, which was the only good thing about this holiday. Dissapointed that we did not get to see Basil Fawlty on any of the days at the Riviera Hotel. Overall the holiday was supposed to be a cheap break, but we did not expect the Hotel to be as cheap as it was. Hope we do not win the draw of 1st prize of - 1 week stay or the 2nd prize of - 2 weeks stay - only joking ? Would not go back to this hotel will pay more and go back to 5- Star Egypt were they know how to look after guests.

  • Advice: Take candles or a lamp and proper glasses, and your own alcoholic drinks with you, for when you return to your room at night, or be prepared to go out at night, so much for all inclusive at the Riviera

depressing

this hotel was really depressing. Food was really poor you got drinks in tiny plastic cups with mountains of ice so you were thirsty all the time and felt dehydrated. if you even asked for the maximum 2 drinks you were called gready and the one bar staff was constantly telling people to f*** off you gready man The restaurant staff were as rude and rarely smiled the only nice people were on the reception where everyone was helpfull.The entertainment was really bad 3 times a week but 1 act repeated with exactly the same material.The pools were freezing and the sunloungers were cracked and had no matresses on them both dangerous and really uncomfortable. Finally the room was cleaned twice but towels and sheets only changed once and the loo roll wasnt topped up at all . Beleive me we are not fussy travellers at all and we know you get what you pay for but i wouldnt come back to this particular hotel if it was free

Hotel was clean but food wasnt up to much same choices nearly every day. first time we have been to an all inclusive hotel and there were no proper snacks in between meals ie pizza burgers etc all there was, was a few stale pastries that sat on the bar for hours at a time.You had your drinks served in very small plastic cups all the time couldnt even have a pint unless you paid for it.Entertainment only on 3 nights out of 7 very poor.Bar staff miserable when asked for a decent glass was told you english pay for cheap holiday you get cheap drinks!!! Charming!! Good job the sun shone every day otherwise would have got on the next flight home!!

I checked in at riviera hotel on the 21st July and was staying there with my girlfriend for 1 week. At first sight it looked okay and so did the food. After a few days I was not pleased with the place. Bar staff were not polite in anyway. Food was terrible we ended up eating out at least 4 times and we were all inclusive. It was the morning before we left I noticed my passport was stolen! I ask the receptionist what to do and she was not helpful in anyway what so ever. She did not give a **** in the world as if its happened before. During the week I heard that money form guests rooms have been stolen and many other things. Had to be the maids I thought and the key for our room was just an ordinary key it was not an electronic one. So really anyone could of simply got a key cut and went into our rooms at anytime. I was very lucky to get home a dont know how but thankfully the people at the airport were more helpful than those at the hotel. When i got home i simply wrote to the hotel asking for the managers email address so i could complain, but of course they did not get back so im having to post this which i hope will avoid people from staying in this dump. Overall i loved IBIZA and im going back next year and San Antonio Bay is a great location but this hotel MUST BE AVOIDED AT ALL COSTS.

ive just returned from a week staying at this hotel and i was dreading it before i left due to the previous reviews. However on arrival check in was very quick and rooms are clean and spacey, yes the walls are a little thin but it wasnt that bad!!. The pool area is always clean and all the staff were pleasant. The food was ok however it did get a little boring as there isnt much choice but it is only a 3* hotel. The maids were very nice and i did not get robbed which it appears everyone else to went here did?? i would recoment this hotel for familys as i have been in peak season and there wernt any hen do or stag do's! groups of lads yes but they wernt a problem!!

I have recently returned from 1 week stay in the Island of Ibiza, There were a total of 9 in our party with a cost of £3700 (So this was not a cheap holiday) 5 adults and 4 children, Our flight was at 9:40 pm and we landed early hours on the spanish island, We then had to find the booking team to allocated our bus, there were no signs we just kept asking staff within the airport, After 40 mins queing for this service we then sat on the bus for a further 50 minutes with needless to say 4 very tired chidren, we eventually got dropped of outside a hotel that we didnt even book then we made our way with 2 buggies 7 suitcases and two children on foot in the centre of the bay! not a pleasant site at 3am. We arrived at what was supposed to be our hotel only to be told we had been moved to to the over booked rooms, We asked how we would be moved and they told us to wait outside and a taxi will be with us shortly! We arrived at the new accomadation at approx 3:40 am checked in pretty prompt then asked if there were anyone to help with all the luggage the receptionist advised the bell boy would be available approx 40 minutes. This was booked through LOW COST HOLIDAYS and again needless to say I will not ever nbook with them again and would never ever recommend, Most people staying in this hotel were in the same position, I booked a hotel and I expected to be allocated it, Trading standards need to know these things are going on! To top the arrival we had 2 rooms one which would sleep 4 and the other which would sleep 2 where did thety expect the other 3 to sleep?

Do not stay at the Riveria Hotel. we are there at the moment, money is being taken from peoples rooms and bags from around the pool. When I complained and asked for the police saying the room maid had certainly taken the money and police should interview her, the elderly man at reception said there are more thieves from ENGLAND.........

hotel was great rooms cleaned daily fresh towels daily just returned yesterday food was good always something for everyone only thing that let this hotel down was that the maids are thieves we had money stolen and so did the girls across the landing from us so just make sure all your valuables are locked away other than that the staff were really friendly and i would go back but would definitely make sure i locked everything away

This hotel is not TERRIBLE but there improvements that could be made and things that may bother anyone going.
Here are the positives and negatives:
(+)
* Cleaners are on top form, very friendly.
* Food is quite varied
* Sangria is lovely, other alcohol is nice enough
* Pool is always clean
(-)
* They allow the men that go around selling knock off glasses etc into the hotel and around the pool... so you are constantly harassed wherever you go and they also try and sell you drugs(!!!) in a family hotel! I was happily laying in the sun on a lounger by the pool when one came up to me to sell CDs, when I bluntly refused, he then offered drugs. Disgusting.
* The air con is no way near high enough. Eating dinner was uncomfortable due to the heat, so I did not eat much, and when we were kicked out our rooms at 12 on the last day, I found being in the waiting area was actually making me feel quite ill.
* The walls are VERY thin... it didn't bother us much until people arrived with a kid that just did not stop screaming. You also get to hear people on the toilet which isn't the nicest thing in the world!
* There wasn't a great deal of vegan/vegetarian option. Every time I saw something that looked really nice, I realised they mixed some form of meat in with it. Quite frustrating as it meant eating basically just vegetables.
Overall, it wasn't a bad holiday - but I'd say the men selling knock off goods and drugs was definitely a very frustrating low point as they literally come up to you every five minutes. Also, avoid the vodka - it made my other half extremely ill!

I went to this hotel on a hen do six girls stayed here with me and we found the hotel lovely the staff was friendly and joked about with us all the time the food was fine what u would expect for a 3* hotel there was always something to eat!! I maybe wouldn't recommend this hotel for kids as not much there besides a kids pool! There was entertainment at night and if for some reason there wasn't entertainment there was always music playing. There rooms were a good size for what u needed it for just to sleep in only thing I would probably say I didn't like was the Walls are thin so can hear everything!! Pools were clean and tidy and plenty of sunbeds to go around!!
