Derwent Lodge

Originally I booked this hotel through laterooms and booked an apartment for £65 (for one night). A few days later I got a call from the hotel saying that they had problems with laterooms.com, but offering me a different room (double, ensuite, but not an apartment) but for the same price because of the conusion. We booked a 4 night stay last minute. When we arrived we hadn't been told that the hotel was in the middle of building work. The check in was very informal and we did not get any information/instructions etc. When I asked about food served the lady looked very surprised and said "Oh no, we don't serve food here!" According to the website it was a restaurant. We staying in the Ennerdale suite and it was close to being brilliant. There was plenty of space and was clean. We had a fantastic time when we stayed at the Derwent Lodge in April. We booked a weekend break last minute and were very happy with our experience! Ray, the very friendly owner, made myself, my husband and 10 year old daughter feel extremely welcome and comfortable.
