Great stay!
from jelondon
We loved this place. We had booked the Ocean Wing at 1900 Baht per night, but also stayed in one of there 600 Baht huts for one night, as we arrived early. Both were great, and fair for the money. Everything was clean (cleaned everyday) - though Ocean Wing could do with a bathroom update. The restaurant was lovely. We ate there everyday. Red snapper on the bbq was YUM! Cocktails also good. The staff were so helpful and friendly. There is resort construction going on down the beach, but it didn't bother us.
It's not fancy but great value and beautiful beach
from AMBUWS29
Ao Thong Pan Noi is a long, crescent beach with fine sand and cliffs on either side. Very cool. The water isn't as blue as Phuket at all, but its glassy, green and wave-free. We stumbled upon Baan Panburi and loved the price tag. At $35 a night for an air conditioned bungalow on a stunning beach you can't go wrong. The restaurant at the hotel was great, too -- the fried rice is to die for, as is the green curry. That's really where they get some of your money though. Expect to pay $60 per day with all meals. The...

Honestly this was the best most relaxing place we stayed.
from bubblyone12
WOW.. honestly after reading some of the reviews I was a little worried but booked anyway. This place was devine, I have been to Thailand numerous times but this was the first with my two young children. The trip up there itself was an adventure with stunning views, a bit bumpy yes but so not a drama, fun actually. Once we arrived the sun was just going down and the beach & beachfront restuarant was beautifully lit and looked just stunning, after a long journey exactactly what we were looking for. The food was cheap and some of the...

at least we had an excuse to lay on the beach all night...
from sunbearcub
We stayed here for one night in a 500THB fan bungalow - kills me when I compare it to my 600 THB room in Chiang Mai! It was a lil wooden hut with ROCK hard bed (sore next day), mosquito net with holes, fan (that didn't penetrate the dense mosquito net), bugs and spiders, yucky bathroom. However for 2000 THB the aircon room wasn't 'much' better so we thought it's better to save the money. The beach, of course, is lovely. You can walk for ages out to sea and the water level doesn't get much deeper (it's a weird experience). The mauy thai...

it's still a paradise
from Nancyyy
I read few reviews just after I booked Baan Panburi, reccomended by a friend. Then from the reviews I found out that threre is a constructions on side and its noisy, and horrible....It was a paradise!!! Yes there is construction, yes you can hear it (only in your room during the day...do you really stay in the room on holidays?), the hotel itself is smaler than its used to be, there is plenty of things you could complain about. But still, being there at the end of November...seeing an empty beach, sitting in almost empty restaurant, hearing...

A rustic gem
from Eco2
We stayed at Baan Pan Buri Village in June 2006 for three days. It is a rough ride in on the back of a four wheel drive but certainly worth the trip. It is an isolated resort with rustic huts a few meters from the water. Prices were very reasonable and the people freindly. Massage and other treats available. Ok swimming, no coral.
Great Stay

We spent a week at the Baan Panburi and loved it. The beach huts we very basic but clean. No hot water showers but who needs it, after all its Thailand, hot and humid. The staff were great, helpful in booking transport to Full Moon Party, always available for questions and always smiling. The restaurant was also very good, closed a little early, some nights when you wanted to hang out and have some drinks the staff started turning the lights off as a hint. But there are lots of cool hotel bars just minutes away down the beach or up the...

peaceful paradise
from absley
our stay at Baan Panburi was incredibly peaceful and restful. our beach-front bure was perfectly adequte - flushing toilet, hot/cold showers, fan (that didn't really keep you cool enough at night but never mind) and was cleaned whenever we asked. fantastic value. the beach is wonderful - much better than those we saw on Samui - and the restaurant food was good. to get there we got the ferry from Na Thorn to Thong Sala and then travelled overland - there are ferries that go once a day to the Baan Panburi beach (via other...

Chilling on the beach
from Trigger0
If you like romantic little beach huts which are comfortable and simple but not overly basic then you'll like Baan Panburi. Personally I imagine basic to be just a hut with no bathroom, no fan and a thin bed. The other reviewer sounds like she may have been more comfortable on the more touristy island of Ko Samui. The beach at Thong Nai Pan Noi is beautiful and great for swimming, and very chilled out as it's only accessible by 4WD or boat. Days can be spent relaxing on the beach, swimming in the lovely waters, snorkelling or...

OK but not great
from tatyanatr
We stayed at Baan Panburi Resort during "off" season in September 2005. Not only did the entire island seem a bit deserted but so did the resort which kind of suited us as the resort borders a beautiful beach -and you kinda have it more or less all to yourself (except that you are sharing it with resident street dogs as well) The resort itself is on the ok side but it has many "basic" things lacking. The bungalow we stayed in was small but that's fine as you don't spend too much time in it. The mosquito netting was dirty and you felt like...
