The Cove Rotana Resort

We had a fairly poor experience at this resort with far too many service and facility problems which really distracted from our stay. The phrase “soft opening” was banded about far too frequently and used as a catch all and flippant excuse for all the deficiencies we encountered. We stayed for two nights recently, knowing that the hotel had only just opened and there were likely to be some hitches but looking forward to escaping Dubai. There were some problems, but it did not totally detract from our stay. The staff here are very good - polite, friendly, helpful. We had a deluxe room with a lovely pool/sea view. We spent one night at the Cove Rotana. We reached before our scheduled check in time & we were given our room immediately. A buggy came to pick us up from the resort entrance to our room. The room was very nice; there is an attached sit out (balcony) to the room with a view of the sea. The interior decor of the room was lovely; I especially like the dome ceilings. We were offered introductory rates since The Cove Rotana had just opened a couple of weeks back. Booked two night stay to get away from Dubai with the family. Booking process was well handled. I was informed numerous times that the deluxe room with a King bed will not be able to fit a baby cot by the reservations staff. Upon check in, I requested again and surprisingly when the baby cot (travelling type) arrived in the room, it fitted snuggly just at the foot of the bed. No problems there. Checking in. Great weekend break from Dubai . Room prices are very reasonable and the excellent Basilico italian restaurant. is especially good value (half the price of Dubai). Beach is good and pools are awesome (and not too cold). Staff are very professional and courteous without being OTT and in your face Yes there were a few teething problems, but look around you and you'll quickly forget.

We had booked this holiday on the last minute as we wanted to get away for a week, We've never been to the UAE before this and wasnt too sure but we have family who have been to Dubai and rated the UAE as a place to go. I have been to Cove Rotana for two nights. Generally, it is an excellent place if you want to escape from city life and relax. The beach is clean and the view is really beautiful. The room is clean, actually there is no reason to spend much time within the room! Based on the posted reviews, I was expecting to face seroius service problems, but it went very smoothly. we spent a night at the Cove Rotana and though they did say operational since 1st Feb ...they need to look into their service issues before promoting their property so much. That the restaurant staff was lovely is the nicest thing I can say. The pool was freezing cold and the walls were paper thin - the family reunion next door kept me up until nearly 2am, despite calls at 12:00 and 1:30 to reception to ask for their assistance in quieting things down. I have just returned from a night at the Cove Rotana. As expected the hotel hasn't got much in order, hence its soft-opening, but I really did expect a lot more from a hotel chain such as Rotana who has enough experience across all its properties to know how to launch a new hotel.
