On checking in, we found ourselves in a horrendous room overlooking the back of the hotel and a loud generator room. With a three year old in tow, we had no choice but to stay in in the evening, so it was utterly unsuitable. We found out that a room with a view would cost more, despite requesting this with our tour company but were eventually moved on the third day to a room on the other side of the hotel. Although this didn't have a view of the pool/sea either, it did overlook a quieter part at the back, which had to do.
That said, the hotel itself was EXTREMELY clean and tidy, and the staff fantastic - happy to help, happy to oblige. We had to ask for extra pillows, but they came quickly. As others have said, the hotel caters primarily to Germans, and we did find this frustrating. It meant that the kids' club didn't use any English, so our child couldn't go (which meant there were no other English-speaking kids and no 'time off' for us), and for the kids' evening entertainment I had to ask them to use English during the disco, as he was totally confused!! It also meant that the food was sadly lacking; none of us are fussy eaters, but the breakfast was almost intolerable (we ended up having toast every day); the juice was watered down to within an inch of its life, the cereal was horrible, and the meats were underdone, dripping in grease and tasted awful. Thankfully the evening meal was better, although choice was still limited for non-Germans. It did get better as the week wore on, though.
Drink choices were plentiful, and very competitively priced (loved the cocktails) and the shop on grounds was also reasonably priced. None of us had 'spanish' tummies, which I think is a testament to the cleanliness and care of the staff.
Despite being there at peak season, we always snagged our sun loungers (albeit by grabbing them at 8.30am) and neither the pool nor the bar or restaurant ever seemed packed - it was lovely. The pool was stunning and undoubtedly the best bit; huge and varied and with a safe walk-in gradient for little ones. Didn't go to the beach much; it was always packed, and we preferred the pool (and bar!) nearby.
The C'an Picafort Express is a trifle pricey (8 euros a time for three of us - total round trip lasting 45mins) but our son loved it, and it was the perfect way to see the area. We took in the harbour (gorgeous) and walked from there down to our hotel, which took about half an hour at a slow pace. Plenty of restaurants and bars and shops along the way.
We had a serious problem with our tour op at the end, as we didn't have a rep there and they failed to post the departure details AT ALL. The reception staff helped us by calling them and did all they could to help. I was delighted by their support.
All in all, we had a wonderful holiday. It's just a shame that the rooms lacked character and view, and the food was so poor. If it wasn't for the latter, we'd probably go again.

Lovely clean hotel, staff all friendly and can speak quite good English. Buffets at night lovely with lots of variety. Entertainment not great but watch able.
Rooms a fair size with balcony big enough for two people. Pools gorgeous and gym fine if you want to work out to burn off all the cakes you scoff at night, it has air con.
Lots of Germans but we liked that as they made no noise at night. We ate in Chocolate down the promenade two times its lovely and waiter’s friendly with quick service.
We only were there 3 nights which wasn’t long enough as we hadn’t tried the mini golf which was set in lovely gardens and Jacuzzis. Can picafort promenade, harbour and beach is beautiful.
Overall we had a fantastic time and will return to the Pltaja Daurada hotel. We used janer bus to take us to hotel and back to airport, they were the most reasonable and very reliable.

A party of four adults, our first time away without the kids so were really looking forward to this holiday. We booked Janer bus to pick us up at airport, they were the cheapest and exactly on time on pick up and return, so off to a perfect start.
Arriving at hotel 1 hour later we were well pleased. The hotel was clean, really nice marble floors and staff friendly; they could speak English pretty well. Our rooms were fine, they had a fridge and hairdryer and a big enough balcony for 2 adults to get the last of the sunshine at night.
Buffet at night had plenty to offer and easy enough to get a table for four, we norm went down about 7.45. The pools were lovely only really cold but lovely to look at. Not too many kids, but if you sit up at the top pool there were no kids and the scenery was amazing looking right onto the beach.
The hotel was mainly German which was fine, they were nice and reformed, unlike us! Bar staff friendly and sometimes will bring your drinks down to you as you soaked up the rays. Happy Days! Chocolate was a lovely restaurant down the prom, we had to lovely meals in it, and it had live music one night, The Lone Riders!
We were there only 3 nights so overall our holiday was excellent and we cant wait to go back, can Picafort itself is a lovely resort, we thought any way!

Lovely comfortable hotel, only downside is it is mainly catering for German visitors. We found other guests were stand-offish.
Breakfast menu not to British taste i.e. sausages German style, bacon fatty & undercooked, no baked beans or mushrooms.
Evening meals could be more varied. Beds would benefit from more pillows, which will be provided on request, albeit, they are very thin.
Staff friendly and helpful. Hotel is ideally placed on the beach with plenty of loungers under 'Tikki's'- priced at about 9 euro's per day.
There are 3 reasonably priced 'cafes' serving lager, toasties, baguettes, and more substantial meals all within 50 mtr's of the loungers . It is a five minute slow stroll toward the marina to the main bars & restaurants with the shopping area on the road behind.
Area is not suitable to those wishing to party Ibiza style, although we did see 2 cellar 'discos' but did not venture in.

Hotel was very disappointing for the 4 star rating it has. Rooms extremely small and cramped, shabby too.
No sun beds at the pool unless you camp out, we managed to get one on the last day, after my husband got up at 7.30am and waited for the red tape to be removed around the sun beds!
Meals were good, but getting a table (admittedly we were a party of 8) was difficult. Food started to be condensed down approx 1hour before the service was due to end, also some eating utensils dirty. We were unfortunate to be there (11th Aug) when the local council had arranged a "Techno Party" on the beach in front of the hotel. Approx 35,000 people descend on the beach for the duration of the party, which started at 11pm and finished at 630 am! Ca'n Picafort hasn't a lot to offer, lots of souvenir shops etc.
On the positive side beach was great, kids loved the entertainment (thanks to Svenn and GJ and company) and staff very friendly. Great pool area if you get a seat!

This hotel is truly outstanding, Air conditioned rooms ,one of the largest pools on the Island and really outstanding food. Backing onto white pristine sands on a seven mile beach(nearly all a national park this hotel is well placed.
It is about 100 yards from the start of the promenade where bars and restaurants can be found.
A cheap bus service connects to most areas of the Island and plenty of tours are available from the hotel.
The Eix hotel group are quality focused and the staff are not only pleasant but also helpful.

We have just returned from the above hotel, the hotel was really good.
We wondered how we would fare with it mainly being occupied by Germans, no problems, the staff were excellent (I would say out of all the many holidays we have had abroad the staff in this hotel were the best.).
The food was great, beautifully presented and hot , the kitchen staff were constantly bringing out fresh food, plenty of variety.
Rooms were excellent, my only bug bear would be that the bath and the shower curtain were too small.
The hotel is located right on the beach and has excellent facilities. Plenty for the children to do and the night entertainment was good. I would return to this hotel again.
