Just arrived back from Hotel Modena having enjoyed a great 5 day break with my mum. We both found the room clean, comfortable, with a terrace, table and chairs imeadiately outside our room. room was twin, had tv/digital and hairdryer in bathroom. Spotlessly clean, towels, bedding, furnishings etc, all looked like newly refurbished and very nice. Let me update you. Travelling to Malcesine? Fantastic choice. Its unbelievable. Hotel Modena? Loved it. Yes its a budget hotel, but the rooms are comfortable, attended to DAILY, there is a hairdryer in the room, the food is adequate, Gino never smiles but he is hysterically funny, and the hotel itself is no more than 40 feet from the lakeside. If you dont want to spend a heap on hotels, plump for this one. Its location is unbeatable, and its perfectly good.

Well positioned hotel in centre of Malcesine 100 metres from lake edge and near boats to take you around lake. Food fairly basic but ok even made us a packed lunch when we went on our day trip to venice and when we had a early start on last day to airport. Rooms good and cleaned everyday.

Good clean and comfortable, but lacking extras such as hairdrier and shampoos, no tea tray in room. Beds were comfortable, breakfast was bread rolls and jams. Dinner was basic cooking but wholesome, would advise only B&B as there are lots of restaurants in walking distance. Location was excellent just only 100 mtres from Lake Garda. No views from rooms but that did not matter. Waiting staff were very good, Dino came and transported our luggage in his put-put as the coach was unable to get down the lovely narrow streets to the hotel.<br... more

We stayed for 1 week, it was absolutely fabulous. The Hotel was clean, very central, and the food in the evening was a choice of starter, choice of main course, and sweet. I cannot understand how they can do it for the money!! The husband of the boss of the hotel, Dino, was ammusing, and charming. Sadly, the boss, His wife, hardly spoke, but, hey, that's fine. Of all the places on the Lake we saw, Malcesine was the best, and we saw a few! Worth a visit.

Malcesine is beautiful, the Modena Hotel , is in the middle of the town, and is clean, and value for money, but avoid if you want to be able to sit out on loungers etc. admiring the scenery. There is no place to sit, apart from a roof top with a couple of chairs and no view apart from brick walls. The rooms are clean and tidy, and adequate, and the breakfast is fine. This was my first holiday in Italy (8th-15th June). I was quite happy with the Hotel and it's staff. Although, the locals seem to start work around 5.30 am and the tourists return to their hotels around ll.30 pm seven days a week, it was a very pleasant, if not noisy, visit.

cheap,clean,value for money hotel.basic breakfast at this price, extras e.g british breakfast can be ordered at reasonable cost.good varied evening meals, good manager, will help with any problems,fluent english,trained in britain, with a wicked sense of humour, so watch out and don,t be too sensitive.this july will be our fourth visit.

This is a cheap and clean hotel in the heart of Malcesine. It doesn't offer much choice if you want to eat in. However, it's close to everything so that's not a problem. The breakfast is ok but not much choice. It consists of bread and jam mainly but you can make some toast if you want to. I found the male owner quite rude when I asked could I have a yogurt at breakfast, as I had seen other guests eating them.
