Holiday Inn Main Gate East

I stayed here one night. I had asked for a quiet room. Turns out there was some kind of Cheerleading event going on and there were hundreds of kids in the hotel. Buses were lined up under my room window from 6am to midnight with motors running to take the kids back and forth to the cheerleading event. When I asked to be moved, they could not since there were no other rooms available. I complained further to the manager and was poorly compensated. We booked this hotel for a 2 night stay for only 43 dollars a night on priceline. It was clean, nicely decorated and close to the disney parks. There was also a lot of restaurants and stores in the surrounding area, which worked out great for us. The hotel provides shuttles to certain disney parks and also provides a shuttle to universal, but I think you have to pay for that one. My only complaint is that there is a surprise 6 dollar per night "resort fee", which I don't really understand because it's not a resort.

Picked this hotel because I like staying at Holiday Inns, the hotel had good location, provided shuttle to Disney and the web site offered excellent price. Stayed 4 nights total. The hotel was much bigger than I expected. It consisted of two towers. It had 2 clean pools and 1 jacuzzi, big concierge/tour desk, good size fitness room, big business center (little bit hot, $12/hour), and large restaurant where I had nice buffet breakfast every morning. My husband, daughter and I took a week vacation to Florida. We spent the first half in Fort Lauderdale, then drove to Orlando for the remaining days. I was looking for a budget hotel because we usually stay at our family timeshare but with the family's new addittons it's getting kind of tight. I wasn't planning on spending alot of time at the hotel since I would be at the timeshare most of the time but I didn't want a dingy motel room either. This was perfect. Better than expected. We stayed here for one night. The location is excellent, close to Disney, with good choice of restaurants and entertainment next door. Free Parking. Check-in was a nice experience, staff friendly and helpful, asked for room preferences and made us feel very welcome, although we had booked a VERY low rate on priceline.com. The hotel was newly renovated, very clean and rather upscale even though it is a Holiday Inn. Stayed here for two nights. The first impression of the room was excellent. You could tell they spent money on the renovation and the room had a new look and feel to it. Stayed at many W hotels and it kinda reminded me of that look, with the darker tones and carpeting. However, the renovations strictly applied to the room and part of the bathroom. Hotel seemed to be fairly new and in nice condition overall. Our room was in the rear of building #1 facing building #2. Nice balcony but it didn't overlook anything but the rear building. The ventilators and ac/heating units from the building below (the restaurant I think) were very loud with the balcony doors open. The hotel has a "guest services" desk in the lobby where we thought we could get some discount tickets-that was a big scam! We recently stayed at the Holiday Inn Main Gate East for one night on January 10. I got a great deal of $45 through priceline. I researched it after they took my bid and found that they had recently renovated the hotel. This made me feel a little better. Upon check in I was told that the price did not include a 4.95 charge for resort fee. I was surprised, being that this was not a resort. I was a recent guest at this hotel from 12/23 - 12/26. My stay was VERY nice and the hotel is beautiful. The staff was very helpful and quick to respond. We had requested extra towels upon checking in and by the time we arrived to the room after unloading, the towels were already in our room. The tub had a slow drain and I notified the front desk on our way out and upon our return the drain had been fixed. The breakfast buffet was just ok.
