Residenza del Duca Hotel

We spent 4 days at the Residenza del Duca and find it impossible to fault it in any respect. On arrival, Geraldo showed us to our lovely large room and made us fresh cappuccinos which were welcome after the trip down from Naples. I recently spent seven nights at Residenza del Duca, having chosen it largely on the basis of the reviews here at TA. I was not disappointed. This is a small and intimate family-run hotel. Upon arrival I was greeted by the sweet and lovely daughter, Daniela. We stayed here for 3 nights in August 2006. We were two couples, so we had two rooms. The hotel is a small-family hotel, but decorated in a such a lovely way. The rooms and bathrooms are spotlessly clean. And the staff (all related I believe) are incredibly helpful. You could not find more gracious hosts anywhere. We spent 2 nights at the Residenza del Duca and it was undoubtedly the best hotel I've stayed in in Italy. Amalfi itself is one of the most gorgeous places in the world and this hotel made our stay all the better. It was classy, extremely clean and comfortable with lovely views from our bedroom. The service was also very firendly and helpful. I would recommend this hotel to anyone - we'll definitely be going back.

We stayed in the apartment ant Residenza Del Duca and it was absolutely beautiful. It was a bit of a hike up the stairs to get there but worth the climb. The apartment has the most magnificent views of the coast and even a rooftop terrace to sun yourself on. The staff were very helpful and organised us on to a tour of Pompei on very short notice.

Residenza del Duca Hotel is a fantastic little hotel; we cannot recommend it highly enough. We spent the last four nights of our honeymoon here and found it to be charming and clean and the breakfast the most delicious in Italy! We loved having breakfast on the terrace and really enjoyed the choice of fresh fruit, cereal, cornettos, yoghurt and freshly made cappuccinos. We enjoyed Duca very much. Our room was near perfection: two french doors, one that opened to views of the sea, the other to a lovely terrace with table and chairs and lounges and views of the top of the Duomo and the mountainside: a near classic "room with a view". The location is right in the heart of the action in Amalfi, just steps from the Piazza del Duomo, so if you are charmed as we are by the sounds of campanile bells and feral cats, you'll love it. We returned this evening from a stay in Napoli and four nights in Amalfi, in Del Duca. We were really enthousiastic about the friendly service, the clean room and great (Italian) breakfast. The location is charming: in a few steps you are down town for a lovely restaurant or drink on a terrace, a walk along the coast (footpaths) or a swim in the famous blue water. In the cold and wet month of March our trip to the Residenza del Duca was warm delight. When I saw our room, every one of the steps we climbed was worth the effort. I chose this place because of reviews on this site and was amazed to see it was even more wonderful than shown. The family was helpful and kind and had some great restaurant and shopping suggestions. This hotel is just everything you could ask for. Friendly family, fabulous location, wonderful breakfast, exceptionally clean with such elegant decor. I would highly recommend it and will definitely be going back myself!
