Loutanis Hotel

This no frills hotel doesn't deserve the bad reports previously posted. It has had a refurb and is possibly under new management. It is a family run hotel and this is evident from the number of 'guests' who were known to the owners. It is also mainly used by eastern european guests who dominated the main pool but kept themselves to themselves. This hotel is fine for a quick week in the sun especially if on a budget. where to begin? when i went there i didnt expect miracles, in the end 3 stars but still i didnt expect something like this. the hotel itself as a building, location is good. away from the main part of Kolymbia and nicely set up. not far away from the beach, bus stop and so on. but the staff is probably going to be the cause why this place will be shut down very soon. the owner is the worst greek (is he even greek???) i have ever seen. shouting at his staff, no english at all, controls how much who drinks and how much bar staff gives... more

Where to start. This was supposed to be a quiet family ran hotel but they were trying to be like the beach hotels with loud music. The main problem is the loud, LOUD, music and dreadful Karaoke that plays throughout the night and into the early morning 4pm, in front of all the accommodation so that there is no chance of getting any sleep. we have just got back from the loutanis hotel in kolymbia I agree with the other holiday makers on here. Please Please do not go to this hotel. We had the most filthy accomodation that you could imagine. The Food was diabolical and the drinks were watered down including the pop. This is the worst hotel we have ever stayed at. All inclusive never in a million years. Breakfast eggs and beans all cold (we did get 2 days of warm bacon bits and hot dog like sausages not very nice). Dinner and Tea was served by a sullen girl who served you with very little portions and gave you strange looks if you asked for another portion. Well where do I start...you have to live at this Hotel to actually believe what it's like...bit like faulty towers - lol!!! The staff at times look at you as though you are daft & say they do not understand English, so most of the time it's pointless complaining. The hotel itself was very nice, room was basic but clean with good air conditioning. It caters mostly for east europeon visitors with about 10% british visitors. I believe british visitors only started to go there in May 2007. The food was of very poor quality and also cold. There was very little variety and no deserts except melon. We just got back from a week's holiday at the hotel loutanis, kolympia rhodes, did a last minute deal on the net. Well were do we start the good or the bad.? I will start with the good.? the hotel it's self was very clean we had a new block which was nice and clean . the cleaner came in every day (but the sheets didn't get changed all week). The bathroom was nice and big but didn't have a shower curtain so water all over the floor. This is the third time we had been All Inclusive in Rhodes. So we had two other hotels to compare with. The weather was perfect for lounging about in the sun, drinking and eating to our hearts content. But unfortunately there weren't enough sun loungers. The ones around the pool were permanently covered in towels. The food was basic. The chips and other vegetables were cold.
