Hotel Roma

We have just spent a delightful ten days at the Hotel Roma in Garda on the shore of Lake Garda, Italy. We booked well in advance direct with the hotel on the internet requesting a lake view with balcony and got just that. A room on the third floor, overlooking the lake, with a sunny balcony, simply furnished with a well-fitted bathroom. Beware the shower doors, they are magnetic and a bit scary till you get the hang of them! The Roma is one of the best Hotels that we have stayed at for quite some time, for a three star Hotel the standard of the room and service were excellent and the staff were fantastic, the continental breakfast was great and was served with no fuss. The air -conditioning in the room was a life saver and the English TV channel kept us informed of the latest news when the security at airports had changed. The Roma was one of the most enjoyable we have stayed in and seemed to be one of the top ones in Garda. We paid quite a hefty supplement for a Lake view room on the 1st floor - but it was worth every penny as we had a terrace with chairs, table, loungers & parasol and because of the lakeside position the view was great. Have just returned from our first visit to Garda, where we stayed at the Hotel Roma. The location of the hotel is superb, right on the lakeside, and one minute from shops, cafes and restaurants. Our room was a decent size, plainly but comfortably furnished, with fridge which was very helpful - the average temperature for the week was 34C. Just stayed at the Hotel Roma in Garda in May 2006. We found it basic, the owners not particularly helpful, but its location right on the lake front was excellent. The breakfast buffet was fine, although pretty similar every day. It only has a snack menu, so we ate at the other cafes along the front most nights, some of which had live music, and tried the ice creams at all the cafes. My friend and I booked the Hotel Roma for a late holiday in October 2005. The Manager, Roberto, could not have been any more helpful, and all his staff were brilliant. We had a wonderful holiday and intend going back this year. Can't wait to see them all again. The accommodation was second to none and the breakfasts superb. All in all a dream holiday in a dream location. "Ciao for now!"

Wonderful location right on the promenade in Garda. We had breakfast outside every day in the ice cream parlour which is attached to the hotel. Lovely breakfasts and an equally lovely view of the lake. Our room was fine but when we visit again we'll try and get a lake view room. The ice cream parlour sells gorgeous ice creams and fresh fruit. We shared a fruit bomba most days - fantastic.

Hotel Roma once again received a "5 Star" vote from us. It is spotless in every respect from the foyer, breakfast area and rooms. The family owned hotel run by Roberto and his wonderful mother, Senora Serene, certainly is a credit to all - the staff are friendly, warm & professional. Breakfast served is amazing, beautiful varieties which change from day to day. This was our 2nd year and hopefully will return in 2006. Many of the guests have been returning for 7 years. Our first visit to the Italian Lakes and what a wonderful experience. The Hotel Roma was right on the lakeside and our room, which had a huge balcony, overlooked the lake. Everybody who worked in the hotel were extremely friendly and the service was excellent. Rooms were of an excellent standard with great bathrooms, cubical shower and bidet included. Taking advice from past Australian Cricket Coach Bob Simpson, we visited Lago di Garda with no expectations and what a surprise we received. This would have to be the most beautiful place in the world. We have visited Italy many times. The Amalfi Coast was magnificent but I fell in love with Garda. It is serene, tranquil, magnificent lake, gorgeous wine and food, wonderful staff. We felt very safe and secure.
