Hotel dell'Opera

Easy to find in a quiet street a few minutes from the waterbus and St. Marks Square. A very nice staff giving you good advise onrestaurants, sights and shopping. Got a wonderful room with canal view. Very clean and quiet. Breakfast limited but enough. We had a perfect stay at this hotel and in Venice and hope to return some day.

We booked the hotel through Easyet when we booked our flights and were delighted with the cleanliness,value and location of this great hotel. They had a seasonal promotion ( we went in Jan) which gave us three nights for the price of two which worked out at just £60.00 per night., less than a Travellodge back here. My wife and I stayed in this hotel the last night of Carnival 2009. The room rate was 119 euros and we stayed 1 night. The hotel was clean, comfortable, and for the price very much exceded my expectations. The staff was very helpful both before we arrived (sending us an e-mail providing us detailed directions to the hotel) and after we checked out (allowing us to leave baggage in the hotel while we did more sight-seeing in Venice). Just a quick review to say we stayed here August 2008 and thought the hotel was BRILLIANT!!!! The rooms are gorgeous, the hotel is beautiful, the staff are excellent and it was SPOTLESS!! Anyone who suggests otherwise is a fool! Fantastic location, 5 mins from St Marks and 30 seconds from the Fenice theatre! Very central, easy to find within reason (it is Venice) just a little gem.

Never had such a perfect stay. This cosy and romantic 3star hotel offered us the service from a 5star hotel. The staff is very friendly and helpfully. The location of the hotel is right in the center but the room is still very quiet to stay. We had a very beautiful room, spacious and the style was nice, further we had a great view on one of the small canals, perfect! Price-Quality was good, breakfast was very good for an Italian breakfast. Summarized we can say that everything about or stay was great!

We start a 2 weeks Europe trip and Venice was our first stop. We loved it. It was a small very nice hotel with excellent staff very helpfull and excellents recomadations. Venice was amazing and our stay to Hotell dell Opera made it even more memorable.

The Hotel dell' Opera is situated on a narrow canal next to the La Fenice Theatre. It is less then two minutes walk to Piazza San Marco and not more than ten minutes walk to the Rialto Bridge area. The hotel is small - like most hotels in Venice, but it is very nice, tranquil and clean. The breakfast is very good and hotel service is excellent. Loved this Hotel. It was in a great location. Close to San Marco, but also close to the Opera House and quiet streets in the opposite direction. Beautifully renovated and just opened in April and we loved our room. The staff were friendly and went out of their way to be helpful and suggest restaurants and very accomodating whatever your needs. Surprised to have a flat screen television in our room and also did not need a converter as they had U.S. electrical outlet. Would definitely stay here again.

I was unsure of the best way to get to the hotel from Venice airport so I emailed the hotel a couple of weeks before my trip and the response I got was very helpful - I was told which river bus to get and was given accurate directions to get to the hotel once I arrived in Venice. I would definately recommend asking the hotel for directions (even if you have been to Venice before) as it would have been difficult to find as the hotel did not have a sign on the front of it (which they apologised for) and we would have walked straight... more

We found this place really convenient in terms of location. It's 5 minutes to St Mark's Square and is in a fantastic location to get anywhere in Venice really. Inside the hotel is brand new, very modern and nicely designed (limestone bathrooms, tasteful furniture, Egyptian cotton sheets etc). And the staff are extremely friendly and helpful.
