Hotel Tiziano

We were looking for a last minute place to stay in Venice and the reviews seemed reasonable so we booked. We don't understand how it received so many positive reviews!!!! Upon arrival we came through the doors, explained who we were, then were ignored while we stood there quite confused with our luggage. Hotel Tiziano in Venice gets a 5 among moderately priced hotels in Italy. It has been renovated recently with lots of modern touches, yet it still has tons of old world charm. The staff is wonderful, and went out of their way to help us feel at home. Our only complaint about this hotel is that it is not easy to find unless you know your way around Venice. The Hotel Tiziano was just what we wanted: quiet, quaint, boutique-style, and in a convenient but less-touristy area. Our room was lovely with very nice fabrics, furnishings, and a beautiful wooden-beamed ceiling. Our window had a view onto a small canal, too! The neighborhood of Dorsoduro was very appealing and convenient for casual exploration on-foot and by vaporetto.

My sister and I stayed at this hotel for 3 night earlier this month. We took the bus from the train station and got off at San Marta. If you do this, just come up the ramp and walk between the buildings, keeping to your left. It is located in the area of a college and a church. (forgot the names). The hotel is small but beautiful. The biggest drawback for me was the lack of an elevator. Plus: - Excelent location, walking distance to everything!! - Excelent staff, they were nicest and most helpful that I've excperienced so far. - Excelent breakfast. Minus: I can only find one negative thing about Tiziano and that is the pricing. Location seems to be the thing you pay for since the standard rooms are are quite simple and a bit worn. Our bathroom was very nice though. If you just look at the standard rooms I would rate Tiziano as ***. The Supreme rooms are amazing...but they cost 300 Euros/night.<br... more

We found the Tiziano through Tripadvisor and the reviews were spot on. This hotel was a little off the beaten track but convenient for us as we arrived via the ferry from Croatia at San Basilio. If you're not afraid of a bit of walking then there is no reason not to stay here. We soon found our way around, and it wasn't far to the water taxis on San Basilio, Accademia or St. Marta. (We would advise anyone to purchase the visitor pass for the waterbus - it works out much quicker and cheaper, we were hopping on and off all the time, its a good... more

Hotel was clean. Rooms were quite basic, but adequate. Not very child friendly. In quite a nice area, although not near the main tourist sites, but it is sometimes nice to see the other side of Venice. Some staff were friendly, others were certainly , less than friendly. Rooms were quite noisey, but this may be that it was a very old building, so you could here people in other rooms. Personally, for the amount we paid, we were expecting a little more. This hotel is away from the tourist trail giving visitors a chance to see a more authentic side of Venice in the Dorsoduro district. The hotel was extremely clean, the rooms were of a very high standard with marble floors, shuttered windows and satellite TV (although this was mainly catering for German guests), the staff are helpful and friendly and the breakfast was good. The area the hotel is in is quiet and peaceful and a welcome relief from the hustle and bustle, around 20 mins walk from St. Marks Square. I will definately be staying... more

My girlfriend and I stayed here between 20th and 22nd December 2004. It is a great hotel and we can't recommend it enough. Throughly helpful staff, great service and high quality rooms. Appreciated it is a little outside San Marco, but it is still no more than 15 mins walk, and ideally located for attractions such as Peggy's museum. Its approx 10 min walk from Pizzale Roma and no more than 5 min walk from San Basilo water-bus stop. Its a great hotel and have no hesitation in recommending it. The Hotel Tiziano provides everything you could possibly want and need from a small family run hotel. It's ULTRA clean, rooms are spacious and nicely furnished, and the owners couldn't be more friendly and helpful. It is located in the Dorsoduro district, which is away from the obvious tourist traps - it's a proper residential area so if you're lucky like us you'll be serenaded in the morning by a man in the building opposite making his breakfast whilst heartily singing along to Nessun Dorma.
