Cozy, Historical Feel
This is an old governor's palace, and the history has been preserved nicely. The staff was helpful and accommodating. Lite breakfast was served each morning, which was perfect to start the day. We got the Viturri Suite overlooking the square which was totally worth the extra $$. The square we overlooked (Santa Maria Formosa) was humming with locals. A great capuccino spot is right there, a fresh fruit stand would roll in and set up every morning. And if you're there on a Sunday morning, get ready to hear the bells of Santa Maria... more
I have stayed here twice now...Great Hotel!!
I am a bit late posting this review, but have been busy with work and no time. I first had the opportunity to stay at this hotel in June 2006 on business and then again this month Jan. 2007 I returned and brought my family back since I like this hotel so much. I must admit I read the previous review and was a bit shocked. I found the staff and manager extremely professional, more than helpful in answering my questions and courteous at all times. They made terrific suggestions on things to do, places to dine and ways to save money. So... more
They Are Scammers!
We booked this hotel more than 2 months ahead of time and when we finally arrived at the end of December we were told that the people staying in our room (a quad) were "sick" and couldn't be moved. We were then directed to the crappy hotel next door (Hotel Scandanavia) and given a 15 Euro discount which didn't even begin to cover the difference in accommodation level. Because they're both "3 stars" (highly suspect) the hotel claimed that was all they were obligated to do for us. I can't stress enough how rude, unethical and uncaring this... more
Excellent experience
Enjoyed an excellent stay at Hotel Palazzo Vitturi in Venice, Italy, for 9 days from 31 Oct to Nov 8th. Found it to be very well run, with thoroughly professional, helpful staff. Concierge was great for advice on interesting places to visit, routes to get there, and restaurants to try out. Also adept at booking those when it was necessary. Enjoyed the fantasy of staying in a venetian Palazzo, and some of that quality is maintained in the big upstairs hall where breeakfast is served, majestic with the morning sun coming in from... more
Wonderful . . .
. . . and gracious. A renovated palazzo with modern amenities. Our room was beautiful - modern furniture and a high, antique, painted ceiling. A balcony overlooked the charming square. Sofiane, the concierge was great. He helped us with everything - tours, dinner reservations, suggestions and daily organization. This hotel is very small - the only meal they serve, breakfast is modest - but lovely, unhurried and unpretentious. An easy 10 minute walk from St Marks (not with luggage). We liked being a little bit away from the crowds.
Great little hotel
We spent 3 nights at this little hotel in early July, and found it met our needs perfectly - well situated, comfortable clean rooms, and good value for money. It is an easy 10 minute stroll from St Marks or the Rialto bridge; the hotel website gives good directions for finding Campo Maria Formosa from the vaporetto, but we spent a few panicky minutes searching the square, as the hotel has no visible signage outside! The reception staff were charming and helpful. Our room on the 1st floor was a good size, with an extremely comfortable... more
Good rooms, good location
My wife and I chose the Palazzo Vituri for our winter honeymoon in Venice because of its good price and reasonably central location. We were not disappointed. The hotel is set on one of the nicest campo (squares) in Venice, and the room was of excellent quality. The hotel is small, as most are in Venice, but spacious in the interior, and very tastefully decorated. We had hoped for a view of the campo, but I believe only 2 rooms in the hotel (12 rooms total) have this. We got a side alley view. In any case, the wide main hall leads onto... more
Beautiful spacious rooms
The hotel is situated in a beautiful quiet square, ideally located halfway between St Mark's Square and the Rialto Bridge (both are only a 10 minute walk away). Ourselves and another couple had the two rooms at the front of the hotel with private balconies overlooking the square, and both rooms were absolutely beautiful and spacious with attractive painted walls/ceiling. Bathrooms were spotless and great showers but one of the rooms did not have a bath. Breakfast was nice if a little basic. Very helpful and pleasant staff . We would... more
Not happy
Hotels location is ok..but quite a walk [about 30 min]from the water bus stop of St Marks square/...Rialto bridge stop is much closer ...I dont know why the hotel does not say so...with all the luggage it was quite tiring..can take a water taxi but thats expensive No lift in the hotel...they use a stair lift for the luggage which wasnt working so we had to carry our luggage on the 2nd floor [very steep stairs] Rooms were nice and A/C was gr8..no mosquitoes in the room There was a new staff member at the reception who wasnt... more
excellent hotel
stayed at palazzo vitturi in may 2005 for two nights. 180 euro for a quad room per night. it is located on a wonderful square about a 15 minute walk form sam marco. the room was huge and beautiful and very clean. there were even frescos on the celing. it had a very spacious bathroom with sparkling new fixtures. the breakfast was not that great. crossants, bread, coffe, juice and condiments. nothing special. we would stay there again.
