Hilton Sharm Waterfalls Resort

Just returned back this morning from Hilton Sharm Waterfalls after a 1 week holiday with my partner. We had an excellent time in Sharm and yes the weather was very hot indeed with the temperatures soaring to the mid 40's!!!!. Naama Bay is worth a visit and only costs approx 30 Egyptian pounds = £3 each way in a taxi, lots of bars, restaurants and shops and yes a little bit cheaper than the hotels. We visited The Hyatt Regency Hotel - Thai Restaurant for dinner 1 evening -very good food and service - Worth a visit. The hotel is very clean and the seaview rooms are worth paying that bit extra for as the views of the sea and the pool area are very nice when you open your patio doors on a morning. There is plenty of choice of food available in the hotel which again is very nice and also at very reasonable prices, NO upset stomaches either. The Italian restaurant was GREAT. The hotel staff are all polite and friendly and make you feel welcome, especially Mohammed and Mozzat who work in Latino's bar and the towel man also looks after you every morning without fail and he does'nt expect a tip either! The hotel caters very much for Italian guests with regards to the animation and activities however everybody is invited to join in and there is plenty going on during the day if you wish. Entertainment on a evening is limited in the hotel however Latino's bar do have a very good singer on every evening from 9pm -12am. Overall we REALLY enjoyed our stay at this hotel and also Sharm El Sheikh and we would certainley stay at this hotel again and would recommend it.

This is a hotel much like many others in the resort area i.e. built on the grand scale to accomodate the tastes of westerners (which is not necessarily a criticism). However, we had a nice stay over the Christmas/New Year period. The rooms are comfortable and well equipped although the bathroom in our children's room was a smelly. The facilities are all of good quality although some of them are beginning to show the signs of aging although the hot weather in summer probably helps that along. The unheated outdoor pools were too cool to swim for long which made the heated one quite busy. As you might expect at that time of year the hotel itself was very busy with plenty of Russians and Italians in evidence. However this was not a problem as the hotel is spacious enough to cope with a large number of guests.

Stayed at the Waterfalls 26/05-02/06 , the hotel is very clean and of a very high standard. The service of the staff is second to none at the pool /beach the towel man insists on finding your sunbed and lying your towels out , they also come round every hour to spray you down with cool water (as it is very hot!!). The snorkelling from the private beach is brilliant , its very clear and quite shallow to start and there are still lots of fish in the shallows so if you dont fancy snorkelling in the deep you will still see lots in the shallows, then past the coral it drops into deep blue snorkelling/diving. We did not find the service slow and the people who work there were extremely friendly and could not do enough for you. The taxi to Naama bay costs about two pounds fifty (english) each way, my advice is to ask the reception for a taxi -cars look more safer than the blue and white cabs out on the street- saying that travelled in those also and had no problem. Be prepared to be hassled in Naama Bay, this does get on your nerves because where as you might like to browse round a shop once you are in there its very difficult to leave without buying something. Back to the hotel, there are lots of activities through out the day aqua gym,yoga ,belly dancing ,polo,water polo- if you are feeling energetic. None of the restaurants at the hotel accept cash so everything gets charged to your room including drinks. When you check out you the hotel does not accept egyptian pounds, only dollars, pounds or euros. Which is the norm in most places in Sharm-even Naama bay they like the pound,euro or dollar- so there is little need to change money- we ended up using our money for tipping. I would go there again definately- my husband who is fair skinned would not purely because it was too hot for him and he was burnt continuously. Pack your high factor lotions for this holiday Absolutely brilliant

Myself and my partner have just returned last night from a weeks holiday at the Hilton Waterfalls and as I have used Trip Advisor to chose this holiday I felt it only right to post my reviews on this hotel. We had an absolutely fantastic time, I have read some of the bad reviews posted earlier this year and can't quite understand where they are getting their information. The hotel was perfect, a little way out of Naama bay which was fine as you felt secluded enough to feel relaxed but with it only being approximately 60p on the bus and £2.50 in a taxi to Naama bay we were in comfortable reach of the nightlife if we needed it. We were on a B&B basis and the breakfast was a buffet style with plenty to choose from, Ahmed does some wonderful flips with the omlettes!!, my only advice would be to try and get there early as the tables in the shade soon fill up. There were also three restaurants, an Italian, a Mexican and a Lebanese Restaurant. We ate at all three and the food was great. We were extremely impressed with how cheap it all was, with it being a five star restaurant I expected, five star prices however with a bottle of beer averaging it £1.50 and a two course meal at about £25 for two people we couldn't complain. I would however advise that if you are a bit partial to Pinot Grigio then stay away from the local wine, it is truly awful, but with beer and cocktails a plenty there's enough to wet the taste buds.The rooms were large with a mini bar and air conditioning. They were cleaned every day and we even came back to towels on the bed in the design of a swan and a heart!! There are three pools, the one at the top by the main restaurant is the quite pool where the waiter will come and cool you down with a water spray during the day and the pool at the bottom is the livlier pool where unfortuantly most the beds do get taken early in the morning so get down early if you want to secure a good bed and an umbrella. The entertainment wasn't that great but my other half induldged in water polo and beach volley ball on most days which kept him entertained. For trips I would recommend the quad bikes into the desert and the boat trip to Ras Mohammed where the snorkelling is excellent and with guides who will help you if you have never done it before. Overall we had the best time, the weather was scorching, too hot some days, and the staff were extremely friendly, the hotel was clean and the ammenities were second to none, you must visit this hotel and Egypt for a truly fantastic time.

The hotels itself is set in beautifull grounds and the rooms are spacious and clean. On the whole we found the staff friendly and polite. Our main problem was at breakfast, it was hard to find a table that was set and even when we found one the staff were not particularly attentive. They were friendly but slow. On the whole we did enjoy our holiday but we can only compare to other 5 star hotels we've been to and in these we were treated like royalty.

just come back from 1 weeks holiday 25th april with my hsuband and 2 twin children ages 16 months. hotel is not in the centre of the resort so we thought this would be better with us haveing the children - oh no!!! The hotel doesn't have a lift onto the main resturant. This resort is on a hill and only has 1 out door glass lift, which on average breaks down 3 times a day. when that is not working or full, you have to use the stairs, and believe me there are lots. The staff are friendly, however their service is worse than slow, it is awful.over 2 hours for you meal to come and if you dont mind a half hour wait for your drinks then this is the hotel for you!!! We stayed at this 5 star expecting great service, but it was a complete sham!!! the staff rearly help you with your push chair, and if your disabled, i wouldn't even bother. The beach is a cliff style with yet again lots of stairs to get to the bottom.there is an awful smell of sewage to the hotel which gets worse in the evening. The pool areas are really nice, especialy the childrens area. The rooms are nice and big. we did request 2 cots and had to wait 2 days for our second cot, again it;s the service that lets this hotel down. Would i reccommend this hotel to anybody- no if you have children, or hate really slow service. it also cost about £5 each way to get into the centre. The hilton dreams looks fare nicer and more central.

Just got back from a week in the Hilton Sharm Waterfalls our first visit to Egypt so didnt realy know what to expect.. The hotel was fine nice pools, staff were polite and curtious didnt get any hastle from anyone at the hotel at all..the only complaint is the pontoon at the beach please be VERY carefull when walking on it out to the edge of the reef its very slippery and the last 10 feet of it before you get onto the raft type platform is detached and is an accident waiting to happen you could easily break a leg or a foot if it gets trapped underneath the platform apart from this all was fine good food but we both got a very bad tummy still suffering from it 3 days after getting home..the prices were more expencive in the hotel £1 for a bottle of coke out off the hotel was less than half that..there is internet access there for 20LE about £2 english and you also get a free cup of coffee with it..also dont be supprised if when eating at the pool bar you dont get any change happened to us several times the staff who served us keep it as a tip ...but without asking..even though it was only about 30pence each time..if he had given it back then he would have got a lot more..the room boy we had was brilliant kept everything spotless, weather was HOT and windy in the morning but by late afternoon died down..there are some good trips you can book through the hotel recomend the Blue Hole, and a snorkling trip by boat to Ras Mohamed cheap and good fun..Nama Bay got absolutly fed up with being hastled by the shopkeepers and a couple of times they were rude because we ignored there "Come into my Shop " or "Where You From" or "Hey English Why You Walk Like and Egyptian". The dive school at the hotel GO DIVE was very very good efficiant and I had to remember to go and pay after the dive / boat trip they didnt hastle at all highly recomend them..one of there dive masters Ahmed Samir was a great laugh and excellent dive master for novice divers nothing was to much trouble for him..he even took us to a cafe and paid for drinks and entrance to sharks bay out of his own pocket!!!!you dont see that happen everyday ? another excellent guide to the blue hole with Longwood was Ramy Sowar what a gentleman..again nothing was to much trouble speaks excellent english and stopped anyone hastling you when shopping and also made sure we got a got price on anything we wanted to buy..so all in all had a great time at the Hilton Sharm Waterfalls recommend it..just be very carefull on the snorkling walkway.. it needs replacing desperately..

i stayed at Hilton Waterfalls for a week with 3 friends in their 30's, and since we bought the full-boarding package with Teorema Tour operator we were sold a the use of rooms and full services of the hotel but our meals were supposed to be had not in the main restaurant but on the smaller "blu club" restaurant close to the beach. food quality simply could not compare with main restarant and 3 people out of four in our group suffered from heavy intoxication.(though everybody) kept sayin it was normal in the place. I cant avoid thinking thas a more accurate cleaninin and better quality ingredients for food could help on the subject. The hotel looks great, but there is a problem with the water used to irrigate the gardens. since it is probably recycled sewage water, it is probably clean but stinks terribly... ruining the tourist's perception of the egyptian sunset...

I have literally just got back (last night) from the Hilton Waterfalls and had to put my comments on here, as i read other peoples before i went and found them really helpful and now want everyone to know what an excellent time i had. Me and my best friend (both 24) booked this holiday last minute (a week before) and where not dissappointed. All we wanted was sun and relaxation and this is certainly what we got. The hotel is brilliant if you want a lazy break. We sat most days by the (quiet) pool being spoilt by the staff - on really hot days the pool guy came round squirting everyone with water to cool them down. The guests at the hotel are mainly families and couples (British, Italian and Russian whilst we were there) but me and my friend didn't feel out of place and infact i think we entertained most guests (especially when attempting to get on our lylows in the pool) and were most certainly appreciated by the male barstaff - who were a good laugh. We were on B&B basis and couldn't wait to get up in the mornings for the breakfast buffet, there's everything you could ask for - the waffles and crossiants are great!!! We are definately a few punds heaviler. Most evenings we visited other hotels for dinner as there are only three main restaurant in the complex - The Lebanese - although not quite our thing it was a good meal, La Cascade - the buffet restaurant ( for half board) we didn't try but we liked Verdi's Bistro the Italian and went a couple of times. Other hotels that we visited for meals were The Hyatt Regenacy for Thai & The Sofitel for Indian (here if sat outside you get a great view of Naama Bay at night). Our two meals here were probably about £40 each and that included a bottle of local wine, starters each and two main courses. This is probably a bit more than you would pay here but they were of good quality and good size portions, we often left at lot. But there are loads of other cheaper places to eat, these after all are the best hotels in the area. After our meals we soon wanted to get back to the hotel to have some cocktails at Latinos bar. We found little night-time entertainment in the hotel (as it is geared up more for families - but cant really comment on what they offer families, but they do have a good baby sitting services as a couple we met in the bar often used them with there littlle one - so a very family friendly hotel) but this didn't really bother us - the signer in Latino's seemed to sing the same songs everynight but once he had finished we asked the boys behind the bar to put on some of their CD's and there were plently of people to meet and get chatting too and go and smoke some shesha with. The hotel even showed the L'pool V Chelsea game on widescreen. We ventured out a couple of times to Naama Bay at night to visit a few bars - Little Budda, Hard Rock, Camel Bar, and Pacha. Drinks especially in the hotel are pretty expensive less local alcohol but its the same all over sharm as egypt is a muslin country you can not by it in the shops. So either take some with you or upon arrival you have 48hrs to go to the duty free shops to purchase some. Before our trip i'd read a review that the local wine wasnt good, but we tried it and although it doesn't compare to wines here it wasn't that bad. The local beer also was quite good. The staff at the hotel are lovely, v friendly and polite and will do anything for you. The rooms are a good size and come with everything. The hotel offers a suttle bus to Naama Bay which takes about 10-15minutes and is about 60p one way, taxi's are just as easy even if a little hair raising. The hotel has their own or you can pick up a blue and white taxis at the main entrance for about £2.50 to Naama Bay - the security guards at the gate even helped negotiate the price and maded sure we weren't getting ripped off or received the wrong change. The only downside was that me and my friend both got bitten on the first night - when we ate at the Lebanese restaurant by the top pool. I was bitten by mosquito's and my friend by Sandfly - which she turned out to be allergic to. Her ankles and feet swelled up and we had to visit the hotel Dr. My legs for a couple of days looked like they had the the plague, but a couple we got talking too, kindly gave us there protection as they were leaving the next day and for the rest of the stay didn't get bitten again. So make sure you take some strong protection. We were not the only ones to get bitten, looking around the pool many people had been attacked also. The hotel tries to help by smoking the area in the morning and at night. This was our first time to Egypt and really enjoyed it, we didnt want to leave. We visited Dubai five years ago and felt Sharm had a similar feel to it only better. As two females alone on this trip me and my friend felt very safe, I had read previously before we left a review from a female who also visited with her female friend, who commented on the unwanted attention they received. Although we did get alot of attention, especially my friend who is a pretty Indian girl - which they love out there, the worse was in Naama Bay where the local men tended to stare and comment but really it was no worse then you can get in your local town and we never felt threatened, and the area is full of tourists. We arrived back home on the day of the attacks on tourists in Cairo, and had we still been on holiday and heard about this, i do not feel that this would have bothered us. Cairo is about 5/6 hr drive away and the security is very high in sharm, every hotel has a metal detector at the main door and there are security gates at the main enterances were everyone even the taxi drivers are checked for ID. Even out of the resorts there is a high police presence. Attacks like this can happen in any country, so dont let it put you of visiting.

I had the most wonderful time here. I was a lone female traveller looking for peace, quiet and plenty of warmth and sun, and I got exactly what I was looking for. The hotel is beautiful. Set a little bit away from the main tourist drag in Naama Bay, it's close enough to do a bit of shopping but far away enough to make you feel like you're not too crowded. There are hotels being built around it, but for the moment it feels wonderfully isolated. It's on a steep cliff, built around a waterfall and a funicular railway. I guess for those not so keen on climbing a fairly steep hill or taking the steps it would be a turn off, but that was no problem for me and the views over the sea of an evening were beautiful. One of the benefits of the cliff is that nearly every room has a great view of the sea. When I arrived there was a full moon and it was absolutely enchanting. The rooms are lovely - big and clean. There are big beds, and each morning the cleaners laid out new towel origami, and on the last night left rose petals! The bathroom is also great, and although the water isn't the clearest I've ever seen I've stayed in enough hotels in Africa to know that isn't something you should expect. There's a fridge to keep your water cold, and excellent air conditioning. Plus there's a tv with every imaginable channel on it, so I could watch proper BBC home decorating channels in the early hours of the morning! The beds are huge, soft and impeccably clean. There are a number of different swimming pools. By the beach (the only let down - a very small patch of sand covered in sun loungers) there are about 4. If you're not keen on noise it's best to avoid them though, as the place is taken over by an Italian 'animation' team. While it's never agressive, it was lovely to escape to the 'quiet' pool at the top of the hotel, where everything was peaceful and calm. Then there is another pool at the health spa, which is heated. At the time of year I went the weather is wonderful - warm but not oppressive. However, the water in the pools is cold so for any prolonged floating the spa pool was the best place for it. There are also kids pools. The health spa was great, offering a range of treatments for reasonable prices. I had a great massage and a manicure done on my last day, which really prepared me for the journey home. The food in the hotel is also great. The Italian restaurant was my favourite, but you need to book as it fills up early. There's a buffet restaurant, which I never tried, a lebanese restaurant (bit too romantic for a girl on her own missing her boyfriend) and a mexican cafe serving snacks. It was all good and very reasonably priced. Breakfasts were plentiful but a bit of a disappointment - be warned you won't be getting any bacon in this muslim country! The staff are all very friendly and polite, it was nice to chat to them but they didn't pester you the way that people in the shops might. There was also regular internet access available (invaluable for keeping in touch with the boyfriend), a bank to exchange money and a few gift shops. There were plenty of other things - deep sea diving, excursions, snorkelling etc but I was very happy indeed lying by the pool, sipping my water and reading my rubbishy novels. I may sound like I'm gushing, but really, it was wonderful.
