This is a large complex and you can use the facilities at all 3 hotels. Plenty of sunbeds and palm tes for shade if you need it. The all inclusive package was acceptable but the plastic half pint cups were a little tedious. There was entertainment throughout the day and in... more

stay at the balmoral needs abit updating but was very clean towels changed every day and bedding was changed regularly too rooms clean everyday the food was lovely too something different everyday and hot . the only thing that let it down was the entertainment they seem to... more

Very Basic Chihuahuas from IanMurray
We stayed in this Hotel from the 2nd to 11th May this year the sister hotel the Mastines was still closed for the winter although it was in the process of opening. The Chihuahuas is a clean enough hotel but the public areas are very tired looking with lots of wood panelling making it very dark it is badly in need of a refit . The rooms were basic and clean all with a sea view .The staff were very friendly and polite and any request for extra pillows and blankets were immediatley attended to. I went to this hotel in Oct 2004 with my mum. It was our first holiday abroad in years. The hotel was a bit of a trek from the airport but was well worth it when we arrived. We stayed in the Chihuahuas Hotel as the Sol Mastines was closed for refurbishment and it was almost end of season. The staff were extremely friendly and were always helpful. My husband and myself have stayed at this hotel at least 8 times, (we have lost count). It is an utterly fantastic hotel, excellent value for money. It is set on top of cliffs provding every room with breathtaking views. We have always enjoyed excellent service from the staff, we count some of them as friends with which we have shared some good times, i.e watching the spanish royal wedding in the rain by the pool side bar!!! Arrived at the hotel we were booked into (balmoral)which we were told was closed down due to it been dangerous so were taken to hotel mastines/chihuahuas when we went to the bar and ordered 4 beers all hell broke loose with the bar manager waving his finger at several people saying one drink only per person ,when you are with a party of 4 it means 4 people stading at the bar at once,after getting that sorted, next came the bar staff,I have never in my life met a more miserible set of workers,being all inclusive you would think that... more

Just returned from Sol Mastines (Sept. 24th 05 ) ,our first time there. A brilliant hotel, great views,exellent food, friendly staff and exellent swimming pool for us (not very strong swimmers) meaning that you can stand up in quite a large area of the pool.The town center is very safe to walk in at night, very clean with just a few pubs to try while you are there,The Black Bull in particular was great (2 euros a pint all day).A very enjoyable relaxing holiday we will definately be back again. We stayed in this hotel complex in the last week in August. We expected a very busy hotel with fights for sunbeds etc, but were very pleasantly surprised. We stayed in the Mastines, in a very large room on floor seven. this had great views of the sea and the pool - cleaned everyday by very friendly maids. We ate EVERY meal in the Mastines Restaurant, which is unusual for us, but the food was that good. Me and my partner stayed in the Hotel Chihuahuas (if that's how you spell it!) 13th - 20th September 05. Upon arrival, we were very happy with what the hotel generally looked like (if you look in most brocheres, the pool area is really great). We weren't sure whether we were staying in Hotel Mastines or Chihuahuas, and only found this out once we checked in at the Chihuahuas - and this is where we were allocated, the Chihuahuas. we have just come back from here and it is exellent. the food is good and all the staff and maids are friendly. the entertainment is very good. the pools are cleaned every morning. there are activities to do in the morning like shooting, waterpolo and football. near the reception there are computers to go on it is very cheap, 3 euros for an hour (2 pound 10 pence). there is a games room with loads of things to play and also a big over head projected tele. im comin here next year definitely i hope u come here because it is a wonderful hotel.

We returned to this hotel in May 2005 as we were so impressed with all this hotel has to offer - the location, the kids clubs, the nearby centre, the lack of nightclubs, the friendliness of ALL the staff who all make that little extra effort, the choice on the menus.
