Apanemo

My niece and I stayed at the Apanemo hotel in 14-18 May at the Apanemo, in a double room/twin beds (No. 7) with a private balcony overlooking the cliff and the caldera - stunning view, beautifully located and maintained hotel with a fantastic pool above the caldera and lots of flowers/nice hooks with banks to enjoy the view.. Room was not big but spotless, with a fridge; breakfast room very nice with balcony overlooking the over side of the island, breakfast itself quite abundant (and we were offered Greek coffee everyday). I chose Hotel Apanemo because it is off the beaten path. The hotel looks exactly like its pictures - it is beautiful! The owners were very helpful & friendly. Once we arrived we realized we needed to rent a car and Spiros took care of everything and the car was brought to our door that day. Our room was small and was OK for me and my daughter; but it would not work for anyone over 6'. The climb to the bed in the loft was challenging as well. They do have rooms that are on one level. Located a little of the beaten path, with some of the most amazing views on the island. We enjoyed staying away from the more touristy and busy areas. Piros and his family were extremely helpful and accommodating. The room was a little small, but the facility overall made up for that. Our recommendation is to stay at Apanemo, spend less and enjoy the best views of the island!

My husband and I visited in July 07. Upon arriving Spiros and his family were very accommodating. Our room was lovely and full of charm, and the he views were amazing. Ohhh and the pool… well the photos say it all. SPACTACULAR!! We can’t say enough about the warm and friendly family who owns the property except they treated us like their own. The entire experience was truly amazing!! We highly recommend this place and the price is right. We never wanted to leave!

I was in Santorini in September 07. The island is marvellous, very romantic in September. Regarding the hotel...it s the best i have ever been...When we arrived we realized that we could swim in the pool (with jackuzi) and at the same time staring the caldera view...It is a great combination of tradition and luxury at the same time...At the breakfast is really the best i have ever tasted...The owners of the hotel provided so much hospitality...Not to mention that they offered us advices of the best places and restaurants to visit...And all... more

We first stayed at Apanemo in 2006 and found the owners and service to be fantastic, warm, friendly. We loved it so much we came back in 2007 . The Apartments with panoramic views of the Caldera, sunset and sea view. Breakfast in hotel with an amazing view of sunrise. Sevice excellent even down to arranging hire of quad bikes, airport transfers and dropping us in town when no taxis available. If you want a relaxing stay in comfortable and peaceful surroundings this is the place to stay. Looking forward to going back in 2008

We have returned from a three week trip to the Greek islands. We found this hotel on the internet and contacted Spiro to make our three night reservation. He was very prompted with his response. Within the first day we extended our stay by other three nights due to the wonderful location and feelings from the hotel. The hotel is calm with an amazing view of Ohia and the center of the "volcano". When I was there (last june) we were the only guests at the hotel! I can't remember his name but the owner is very friendly! There's a small but great looking pool. My husband and I stayed at the Apanemo in July 2007 for our honeymoon. We had an amazing Villa with the most spectacular view of the Caldera. It is a great place to stay. You are away from the busy towns of Fira and Oia, and they are easy to get to. You can rent a scooter or four-wheeler for very cheap. Its only about 15 min to Fira on a scooter. Canadians travelling without their M license, won't be able to rent a scooter in the small villages, but if you go into Fira, they will rent you anything. I would recommend getting your... more
