I was a little worried about staying here after reading some of these reviews. However, I found it to be wonderful. The rooms were clean and nice, we stayed in a delux room and everything was perfect. I went with a wedding party and total we had about six different rooms there and everyone was very satisfied with the hotel and the staff. We just returned from our most recent trip to Kuyaba. Prior to leaving, I had read several reviews on Kuyaba regarding staff, rooms, cleanliness, etc. However, I travel frequently and have read enough reviews that I know that, while some have legitimate issues, others can be oversensative or simply not practical. They make money on the bait and switch any way you look at it - personally saw it happen three other times, other than myself in the 12 hours we were at the property. Arrived after midnight and got their "rustic" cabin - horrendous! Toilet not adhered to the wall, holes in the walls and the floors - could see the mud, dirt. Bugs, dirty linens, a/c did not work, but the ceiling fans worked on overload where it blew the dirt and dust throughout the room. We stayed at the Sea Scape hotel, which is down a bit & across the street from Kuyaba, but since they don't have an on-site restaurant we ate our meals at Kuyaba. Every bite was delicious & I highly recommend that if you're staying in a neighboring hotel that doesn't have dining, you can't go wrong with Kuyaba. The outdoor seating faces the sea, enhancing the dining experience. My favorite meal was breakfast: Try the banana pancakes or jerk sausage, & their blended drinks are fresh & well-liquored. i didn't stay at this hotel but i ate here everyday the food is just wonderful. one day i ate here 3 times. love it love it love it.

Fairly nice landscaping, but too many problems from poor service to no hot water will keep us from ever going back to Kuyaba. The newly refurbished rooms aren't bad, ours had a new LCD TV w/ cable but the beds are horrible, the pillows seemed to be made of stone. The bathroom had a jacuzzi tub, but no hot water for 2 days kept us from ever trying it. Could be a cute place, but needs a lot of work on details, particularly service. We asked for a discount due to lack of hot water.

What a disappointment! When saw the gorgeous Honeymoon Suite on their website but it was already booked when we called. We were informed that they had a brand new "King Suite" that was so new it wasn't even listed on their site yet. They claimed it was a step above the Honeymoon Suite so we were absolutely thrilled to book that instead. DO NOT book one of the "rustic cottages." I've stayed in tents and summer camp cabins that were better. Main complaint: After being in our room for about 30 seconds, the cockroaches came out. They basically scurried across the floor constantly for the 15 minutes that we sat huddled on the bed, afraid to put our feet down. When one crawled into my boyfriend's empty shoe below us, that's when we promptly left and requested another room. Just got back from an awesome 8 days/7 nights in Negril. Wanted to share my experiences at Kuyaba for anyone considering this place. Let me start off with the Pro's: Pro's ~Landscaping is beautiful. The grounds are kept extremely nice. Garden setting with tons of flowers, palm trees, and plants. ~Food was great. But VERY pricey (see Con's) ~The parrots.
