Hotel Condal

This hotel is only 2 stars so I suppose I cannot be too surprised at the standard. Although I have stayed in other 2 star places that have been fine - just your general 'cheap and cheerful' This hotel does have a great location in Barcelona, but the street itself is a very typical narrow side street which magnifies any noise in the street below massively. If you just want a place to sleep with a good bed, a daily clean bathroom, an excelent location and cheap. Well, I suspect that the best hotel choice is Hotel Condal. The staff is not very sympathic but they are efficient and professionnal. The best of all is the location, 200m of the ramblas and the Liceu metro station. For the purpose above the hotel is very efficient.

Location, location, location. What better place to be than near La Rambla. Looking for an affordable hotel or B&B in Barcelona, I checked hotel reviews in order not to be deceived. After all the reviews I read, we found what we expected more or less. Rooms are clean, and basic, Our room was at the rear on the fifth floor, you can still hear the goings-on at a restaurant down below, luckily we were up on the top floor. We only had breakfast once there - not much to choose from but there are hundreds of places nearby, one of them being the Boqueria market. two minutes away. Stayed in the Hotel Condal from 20th to 23rd April 2008. It is just about a minute from the Ramplas on a side street. It was very clean and very cheap. Ideal for anyone on a budget. Some of the reception staff were not very friendly but others made up for them. It cost 86 euro for a twin room per night. It was very busy when we were there with all nationalities.

Stayed at Hotel Condal for one week in Jan 08. Rooms basic take your own toiletries nothing much on offer but on reflection of price would be cheeky to expect them. Room very clean and all you need. Cafe on ground floor open in morning only but cheap and delicious what little they have to offer. Worth a visit. We found room a little noisy as it was on main street however after few days got used to it. Overall good cheap stay and would be happy to return considering location and no problem with reception all very helpful.

We spent two days in this hotel and were very pleased considering the price that they charge. As others have mentioned the locations is very good being right off of Las Ramblas and close to the Liceu subway stop. The hotel is very clean and is unique inside with glass floors. Some of the rooms do not have an outside window, the windows overlook the inside corridors. Very good location, it is clean and safe. Room is quite small, no view (a brick wall at 2-3 meters from window). The AC is being turned off from reception every time you leave the hotel. They forget to turn it on when you return. You muct call them to do this, otherwise it is not working. You must bring soap, towel and some toilet paper. We had to buy from there. Otherwise, a good hotel. Again, exceptional location for walking and visiting Barcelona.

The Hotel Condal is situated in the centre of Barcelona 100 yds of Les Ramblas. Hotel is 2 star but is great if you want cheap accomadation in the city.
