La Ciudadela

This little hotel has a nice and convenient location, central but away from the some of the noise. I was surprised at how nicely decorated and clean the rooms were. There is also a nice restaurant on site so you do not have to hunt a good place to have dinner if you do not want to. The staff was friendly and helpful but maybe a little distracted since the lobby and restaurant are in the same place. We visited Barcelona for 6 days and prior to our visit could not find a hotel with vacancies in the heart of the City Centre. Once we arrived we realised why...they was a mobile phone exhibition taking place which meant all the hotels were fully booked, particularly the one's around Las Ramblas. However, this 'gem' of a place proved to be perfect and in my opinion located in a much nicer part of the city. This is the second time we stayed at this hotel -- and coming back is enough proof. Wonderful people: very attentive and friendly. If we'll go back to Barcelona this is were we'll stay again. Excellent location. Very good prices. Very clean. Very good restaurant and bistro on site.
