Ibis Barcelona Pza Glories 22

Several of our recent visitors have chosen to stay near us at the Ibis so we knew the typical formula - neat, clean, spare and comfortable - and were completely satisfied with the hotel. The front desk staff was helpful and friendly during check-in, and tried to help my husband resolve an apparently hotel-wide internet problem; we ended up paying for access that we couldn't use, but were allowed to check our email downstairs the next day when it was working again. We stayed at the Ibis 22 the weekend of Sept 5-8 and it was a nice hotel. It was a bit of a hike from the Metro with my suitcases, but without it was actually convenient to two different lines!! The area was quiet on the weekend, some streets looked a little sketchy. But on Monday it came alive! There is a mall at the end of the street and in the morning there were little cafes on the way to the metro. Spent a week at the new Ibis in Barcelona, and found it up to the usual Ibis standard - clean and comfortable, with friendly, helpful staff. Good value, particularly as we found an internet offer of 45 euros a night. Breakfasts good value too at 6.5 euros. The district is in the midst of redevelopment, so lots of building sites at the moment, but in a year or two the hotel will be in middle of a high tech/university area. Slight quibble is that most Ibis hotels have restaurants where you can get OK meals, but this one just had a snack... more

This new Ibis certainly filled our needs for 2 nights. We were lucky enough fo stumble into an all-Spain sale in May to boot (E45). The hotel was clean and comfortable. We bought our breakfast for about 6 euros each since there didn't appear to be many choices in the neighborhood. The area of Ibis 22 Barcelona is having a major upgrade in this particular business section. And, it is situated between 2 metro lines. The main line is a bit of a hke, but nothing drastic.
