Dear Donmart330, I am really sorry if your stay in Barcelona was not satisfactory. Regarding your comments about the hotel, I must say that in fact, the Sauna and Steam Bath system failed and took a couple of days to get it fixed, so usage was not permitted as it was not working. So the problem was affecting not just you (as you state on your review), but all clients staying at the hotel. We sincerely apologize to all clients affected by this matter. Referring to the TV, we have 64 channels in total with the following languages: Catalan, Spanish, English, French, Italian, German, Polish, Russian, Arabic and Chinese. So, all clients have a wide range of TV channels available, and yes, we do not have Cable or Pay TV movies, but we never published that service on any brochure or website, so we do not understand the complain. I must say that we feel strongly offended by your comment about the robbery. Our staff has been working with us for several years on other hotels of our hotel chain, and we never experienced any problem with them. Furthermore, most of the reviews on this Trip Advisor and other websites or forums state that staff is very gentle and helpful. Unfortunately, many big cities have frequently pickpockets attacking visitors and locals, and Barcelona is not an exception. All people must be careful about their own valuables, but just in Barcelona, also in London, Paris, Rome, New York, or any other big cities. Regarding our location, it is not dangerous as stated. It is in fact safest than city center, as many tourist go there to visit the most popular monuments or streets and due to the major number of visitors, crowded streets, terraces, etc. it is easier to pickpockets to steal wallets, cameras, etc. Our area is a very quiet district involved on a huge transformation turning from an old quarter onto the new “22@ district”. Most of the technology companies are moving to the new buildings on the area. Big and luxurious apartments have been built on old industrial buildings, etc. There are also plenty of restaurants and bars around within walking distance like “Racó de la Vila”, “Delicat”, “Casino Aliança”, even McDonalds is just 300 metres from us, or Port Olimpic (Olympic Harbor) with more than 15 restaurants available. Finally, I strongly recommend you to talk to the hotel staff (or hotel Manager) the next time you experience so many problems in a hotel. You stayed 5 nights with us and never complained at the hotel. We noticed about the “supposed” problems by the review on Trip Advisor and because of your several requests to your travel agency for compensation. Sincerely,
