Catalonia Catedral

We found this hotel by accident. We had originally booked a room at the Catalonia Port Hotel, but on our arrival the staff said they had a problem with the heat in the available rooms and that we should not stay. They offered to transfer us to another hotel - namely the Catalonia Catedral - which I knew nothing about. Hi We stayed in the hotel for 4 nights and enjoyed every minute of it. Location: The hotel's location is great, 5 minutes walk from Catalonia square and the Ramblas, yet quiet and safe to walk even when you come back in the middle of the night. Rooms: The rooms are new, inviting and have anything you might think of. The shower is big and there's nothing else you need at the end of a long walking day. This newly opened hotel is a real discovery, in a great location just off the Cathedral Plaza in Barcelona’s Gothic Quarter. Design features include glass elevators looking into the central courtyard of this tastefully renovated older building. We stayed for 4 nights at the Catalonia Catedral The hotel located is excellent - perfect: 3 mins walk from Catalunia Square, 1/2 minute walk from the Barcelon Catedral, 3 mins walk from La Rambla.. The hotel was perfectly situated in the heart of the city, and literally a 2 minute walk to the Gothic Cathedral. The room was very modern and clean, the bed was comfortable, the bathroom was fitted out beautifully in marble with a fantastic shower. The staff were friendly, helpful, and proud to be working in the newly refurbished hotel. We stayed for 3 nights at the Catalonia Catedral. We were welcomed very warmly at 2am when we arrived after a 4 hour flight delay. The hotel has only been open for 4 weeks and has been renovated to a very high standard with modern bedrooms with huge beds and a great shower! Our bedroom faced the courtyard which meant it was really quiet. This hotel has been just reopened after a major renovation. We couldn't find hardly anything online about it, but decided to take a flyer considering 99 Euros a night was a big bargain for this level hotel in this location during the season we were going. Had a four night stay at the hotel. We were impressed by every aspect of the hotel: the staff, the room, the facilities and the location. Very close to the Aerobus stop ( two minutes walk), La Ramblas and Cathedral. A couple of minutes from the touristic bus stop and very close to good shops and restaurants. Traveling for over 5 years straight, staying at many hotels and never leaving so sad! We were shifted to this hotel since the hotel we booked (Duques De Bergara) was over booked. We've just got back from a stay at the Catedral and we were blown away. We shortlisted a few hotels using tripadvisor, and thought about the Catedral, but were put off because we couldn't find any pictures of the bedrooms. Then we spotted on one website that it was being refurbished, so we took a gamble because of the location. What a winner !!! We were the first people to check in after the refurbishment (17th Sept.
