Well we have been back in the uk for 2 days, sick of washing and ironing so thought i'd do a review.
you will have a GREAT TIME.Hotel is bright, friendly rooms are cleaned regularly, the pool has a lifeguard is clean but cold at first, sunbeds are not allowed to be reserved, and the beach is across the road(2mins at most)it is very windy and you do get sand blasted, finer points
food, can get a bit repetative, but you can always find something to eat, they even have a special childrens area with plastic cutlery to use if you want and a microwave in the main dining hall, lots of high chairs.if you are running late for breakfast you can take a tray out.if you are not a/l expect a bill at the end of your holiday base it on 8 euros per night for 4 glasses of pop you sign daily and you are given a copy.
entertainment: children based can drive you nuts mini disco nightly 8 till 9 then a reps caberetshow again suitable for adults but mainly kids till about 10.30
kids clubs all ages 10 till 12 am then 3pm till 5 pm well organised and free. did our 5 and 7 year old go, not a chance,we where on the beach or in the pool or both as its so close.there are some really good bars very close. turn left then left again walk by the side of the hotel, legends english nuggets if needed, kids play area, live entertainment nightly till 1.
in brief: great hotel, great value. good resort, windy beach, take a cardie or fleece for night time, DRS and pharmacy at hotel, would i go back YES Please. but need to finish ironing first. have a great time i am sure you will.

Bad food, don't go if you don't have kids

We stayed at the Lanzarote Gardens for 7 nights in a clean one-bedroom room at the 2nd floor. We had a package including breakfasts and dinners
We did not like this hotel because everything was done to provide low-level service, the hotel was constantly making economies and trying to make the customers pay more during a stay where all normal expenses are supposed to be included.
The food was of particularly bad quality :
- vegetables were either cooked in too much fat, fried, or served raw, with a limited choice of dressing or sauce.
- meat was not appealing. Typical breakfast products included sausages, eggs, bacon.
This has nothing to do with real Canarian food which is very tasty and varied. Moreover, it is especially cheap and it is not a good deal to be having dinner in this hotel when you have all these good-quality, cheap restaurants closeby in Costa Teguise.
If you are vegetarian, I do NOT recommend going to this hotel because the personnel is not cooperative nor sympathetic when it comes to adapting what they make to a diet that is other european junk-food. The friend I was with is vegetarian and had a very hard time finding anything eatable other (bad) raw salads. Cooked vegetables were so bad that the only choice left is to eat pasta and fries. Great meal...
I wonder if the bad food is just due to their cooks or to the fact that they buy the lowest-priced products on the market. I'm guessing a little bit both.
We have tried several times to ask the buffet chef to make vegetarian dishes, to vary vegetables. Every time, she said ok but nothing ever changed.
There are a few very cheap details in this hotel that we also disliked. For example, even though, dinners were included in our package, hotel policy forced us to buy small water bottles at a very high price (1,70 euros for 50cl) and forbid us from bringing our own, which could be bought at any other store for 5 times less.
Another example is the fact that rooms are not cleaned on fridays and when you ask why at the reception, they just tell you "it's hotel policy, it's in the brochure". Which brochure ? Anyway, the price of the room is not cheaper on fridays.
Any additionnal service is very high-priced.
My last remark is to advise people who do not have kids. Unless you are a real, hardcore, children lover, you may want to go someplace else as, anytime you are in the hotel, you will be exposed to a LOT of family noise (babies crying, screaming at breakfast can be annoying when you see parents who just do not deal with it).
This hotel is certainly not a romantic place to spend holidays. Young couples, avoid.

Spent a week at Lanzarote Gardens recently.
Our overall impression of the hotel's standards is very good. On arrival our apartment was spotless and cleaned every day.
The communal areas and the pool were also well maintained.
Booked a half board and the food fairly reflected that of a three star hotel. Although the fare was plentiful, it was a little bit repetitive. Nevertheless, this was amply made up by the helpfulness of the waiting staff.
The hotel itself is situated at a small junction off two roads, however we rarely heard any traffic noise.
There is bus stop just outside the hotel with a service to Arrecife every 20 minutes. We found this a very economical way to get about the island.
The resort itself has plenty of shops, bars and restaurants for all tastes.
When walking along the coast the winds do pick up, however finding a sheltered spot makes all the difference.
Thoroughly recommend to both couples and families.
When you visit, say hello to the black cat that favours the bench outside the restaurant entrance!

just returned from a two week stay at the above hotel with my wife and two children aged 9 and 4.
the lanzarote gardens is a three star hotel, how ever the entertainment team are five star putting on shows most nights which were truly fantastic, that's after the days activities.
The food considering it,s three star is great, loads of choice always freshly cooked in front of you what ever time you eat.
accommodation. although we were in the apartments that are yet to be modernised they were very clean and tidy.
towels were changed most days ,as was the maid service. we arrived late to find beds made up for the kids and a welcome pack containing sandwich ,water, yogurt, fruit, which was a great touch.
The staff were always friendly and helpful when we came into contact with them.
only reason it has not got the full TEN is the pool and the pool area.
the pools are truly freezing even though they can heat them???. also the pool area is in dyer need of a lick of paint, however you never struggle to get a sunbed as your not allowed to put towels on them before dawn another great idea from the h ten.
finaly location is great two hundred yards from the beach and smack in the centre of the resort.
would we go back.....YES although we had poor weather for the time of year this is a great place to stay for familys you won,t regret booking.
hopes this review helps. The richardson family

Just returned from a 10 night stay on...

Just returned from a 10 night stay on all inclusive basis with our 2 children aged 2 and a half and 17mths, overall a really good holiday. We arrived late at night 11pm so the restaurant was obviously closed but we were pleasantly surprised to be given a picnic bag of goodies (sandwich, drink, fruit & yogurt), nice gesture. We were given a trolley to help transport our luggage and a very basic diagram of how to find our apartment. It was a large complex and took us a while to find our apartment, we were tired and hot and the kids were a bit grumpy so we were finally relieved to get to our apartment to find the spare bed and cot all made up and ready for us all to just flop! The room was very spacious and we had a huge balcony, great for the kids to run around. The maids came 6 days a week and changed towels regularly and the cleaning was of an acceptable standard.
Staff at reception and in the bar & restaurant were always pleasant and helpful. Entertainment staff also very friendly but we got the impression they were a bit burnt out by the end of season which is no surprise as they worked incredibly hard and long hours. 6 days a week they had regular appearances throughout the day of "Daisy" the flower(one of the entertainment crew dressed up) and the kids absolutely loved her!! She also appeared at the kids disco in the evening (8pm each night for 1 hour), this was great because you were able to let your kids run riot and tire themselves out, they loved all the actions to songs that the entertainers taught them. I think the families without kids even enjoyed watching all the kids before the adult entertainment came on (which was always good whenever we got chance to watch it).
Food was always good, a great variety and could always find something we liked, you could ask for meat to be grilled fresh if you wanted to your liking (rare etc) but with every buffet style restaurant it tends to get a little repetitive by the end of your stay but overall I think the chefs did a fabulous job considering how many they have to cater for and for different nationalities and tastes. For a 3 star, it was more than adequate in our opinion.
If you've got young kids, you'll enjoy the fact that the childrens play area and ball pool and baby club are all conveniently situated next to the restaurant and pool - the park for the older kids was at the other end of the complex, there was also a big sand pit and boules pitch. (baby club was free by the way which we were pleased about as most other hols we looked at you had to pay extra and it was open 4 and a half hours a day 6 days a week - 10 to 12.30, then 2 to 4pm). The main pool has a slanted shallow end for your kids to play but it does eventually get deep so you have to keep a VERY close eye on your kids. They do have a separate kids pool but it's tiny and it's a bit out of the way and our kids didn't like playing there for longer than 10 mins! Also, it could really do with being fenced in as your kids just run off up the pathways right next to it and it's a bit of a maze so our 2 year old thought it was a great game running off constantly! Some other people we spoke to said the same thing about it needing a fence to enclose it due to where it's situated. But that's the only gripe we had really. Sunbeds were always available whatever time of day you turned up at the pool.
The beach was only a 5 minute walk across the road, we only went once and it seemed nice but busy. There's a small shop and pharmacy right next to the hotel, but the shop is a bit expensive (especially for nappies!!) so there's a Netto across the road or even cheaper there's a SPAR round the corner (left out of the hotel and left again), only a 5 min walk. The main nightlife (if you can call it that) seemed to be up the road a bit - turn right out of the hotel and it's about 10 minutes walk, there's a square where there's a bit of hustle and bustle of bars and restaurants, there was an Irish comedian on the few times we went at the Irish bar called the Snug which was quite good. Late bars are in this area too if that's what you're lookin for. There were a few other bars and restaurants close to the hotel, but they were a bit "karaoke" for our liking and too noisy for our young kids. We tried "Legends" as they had a bouncy castle for the kids, but when we went it was broken so that was a bit disappointing.
All in all, it's a great place for families with young kids, I'd consider going again but only if it's out of season again as I can imagine it's totally manic during school holidays!
Hope you find our review useful.

The wife and i have just got back from this hotel and we found it to be excellent. For the money you cannot fault it. Food great clean and tidy waiters cleaners and all other staff very polite and helpfull. Towels never left on sunbeds that we could see pool area everything you would want for adults and children. Beach just across the road as are a fair amount of shops. Last but not least the entertainment staff PEPE THOMAS SONIA and the rest BRILLIANT. The amount of work they put in doing there own shows is fantastic and a great laugh. They do all the entertainment for the kids and adults throughout the day also.
PS After reading this please don"t everyone go rushing up to book all the rooms up as the wife and i want to go back again if possible before the end of the year again. It was brill and we did not have any children with us. As you may guess we really enjoyed it.

restaurant is fine always something to eat(isn't a la carte) but then suits most tastes

Just returned from a 2 week stay at the Lanzarote Gardens. Stayed in a refurbished room with my husband and 2 children (ages 7 and 5). We stayed on all inclusive board basis. The entertainment team at this hotel are outstanding... they work from 9am until 1.00am every day. Mario, Isi, Katarina, Sonia, Greg, Pepe..... Reception staff very friendly and very helpful, cannot do enough for you. In fact all the staff offer exceptional service.
Supermarket just next door and a larger NETTO just across the road on the left. The beach is a 5 min walk away and the sea can be seen from outside the hotel foyer.
Lots of lovely restaurants 5 min walk from hotel, turn right when you get outside and walk over small bridge, cross road and you will find exceptional food/tapas bars. There is a market held there every Friday evening - worth a visit for gifts etc.
Bus stop outside the hotel, buses run every 20 mins right up to midnight. Great, cheap way to get around.
Hotel restaurant hours: Breakfast 07.00-10.30, Lunch: 12.30-3.30; Dinner: 06.30-9.30; Pool bar 11.00-6.00
Lots of activities take place daily. Kids clubs.
Hotel 15 minutes from airport (taxi about £20).
Would recommend this hotel to guests with children, as most people staying there had children.
We definately will return to this hotel!!!!

We (myself, hubby & 2 daughters, aged 10 & 12) stayed for a week at this complex of apartments, and we thought it was brilliant. Definitely plan to return again. Check-in was swift and the reception staff were very friendly and spoke perfect English. Got to our apartment, and though pretty basic it was clean, with plentiful towels in the bathroom and really comfy beds. Hubby and I had twin beds in the bedroom and our girls slept in the lounge - one on the sofa bed, which was already made up (v gratefully as we arrived at 11.20 pm!) and the other on a guest bed. We still had plenty of space to move about within the apartment. We were also greeted with 4 bottles of water and a bag of fruit, all complimentary, which was a very nice gesture.
The food was plentiful, and there was a pretty good variety, but I would say only if you were staying a week. I'd think anymore than that and you'd want a bit more variety. As is usual in a lot of All Inclusives, the food did lack spices and a bit of heat, so we did take ourselves into Costa Teguise for a lively Mexican meal on the penultimate evening, for a bit of flavour! Other than that I couldn't fault the menu, and the kids loved the fact that they could eat ice cream all day!
Everywhere was kept clean and all of the staff were welcoming and friendly, particularly the animation team, who were fantastic. Our girls grew very fond of some of them and got all their autographs on the last day. Issi was the maddest, and we were visited everyday by Sonia as she was interested in the fact that we were all big readers and fascinated by the amount of books my hubby got through! Each day they came to the pool and danced, with lots of the kids joining in, and their entertainment skills were brilliant. First class!
Sunbeds are plentiful, with cushions that can be hired for one euro a day to make your sunbathing more comfortable. The pools are lovely, though somewhat deep under the bridge and beyond in the main pool. Our youngest wasn't allowed past the bridge as she's not a strong swimmer, but she had loads of pool space remaining to swim in. One day huge inflatables were put in the pool, and these were greatly welcomed by both adults and children alike.
We thoroughly enjoyed everything about Lanzarote Gardens and as I've already mentioned will definitely be returning. The sooner the better too!

Just arrived back from a 10 night...

1 reader found this review helpful

Just arrived back from a 10 night stay at the Lanzarote Gardens and have had a fabulous holiday - the hotel is nice and clean and there are lots of things to keep the kids entertained. We requested a refurbished room with a pool view and it was spacious and modern with plenty of room for a family of 4 (2 adults plus a 3 & 5 year old). the room was cleaned every day except Fridays and to a high standard.
The entertainment team at this hotel are out of this world - we have stayed in lots of 4* hotels as well as 3* ones and this has been the most professional entertainmetnt by far - the entertainment staff seem to know ALL the kids names and will spend time with them whenever they can even if they are off duty - nothing is too much bother for them and they work tirelessly from morning till night - the kids clubs are great - my 5 year old went for 2.5 hours every morning and loved it - very security conscious and I felt safe leaving her for the first time ever - Mario, Danielle, Laura, Katarina and David are all fab and the kids loved them - the hotels 'Daisy' character is also immensly popular - the entertainment staff also do the night time shows which were terrific and very professional (Disney show, Sister Act, Cats etc).
Pool are is nice although the pools are not heated and are quite cold even at the end of the day - didnt bother most people but my 3 year old wasnt keen. We had no problem getting a sunbed even if we had been at the beach in the morning - the hotel dont allow you to reserve a sunbed which is good and prevents the need to get up at the crack of dawn to get a decent bed!
Staff friendly and polite and if you have any problems they seemed to be sorted pretty quickley.
Only reason i didnt score this a 10 is that the food is pretty average and drinks are expensive - although im a bit of a fussy eater & not a big buffet fan - my husband thought the food was good - there is plenty of it anyway and it is fresh and hot. Kids buffet area was good as all the kids could sit together and they had colourful kids plates/cutlery etc - we upgraded to all inclusive on the 2nd day simply as it only cost us 40e a day to do this and we were spending 30e in drinks before that so was worthwhile even if you dont eat in all the time.
A great lively hotel that you will love if you have kids - Costa Teguise is nice and the beaches which are just over the road and through a shopping centre from the hotel - 10 mins walk are nice.
