After reading all their was to read...

After reading all their was to read on this and two other popular forums that do reviews, I found their is very little to complain about this hotel, bearing in mind that the most important fact is, it is a 3 star+ aparthotel.
The rooms are still being upgraded, but in the none upgraded rooms, they are spacious and clean, they serve their purpose well and comfortably suit 3 people with a 4th person happily crowding it out.
It would be good advice to hire a safe on arrival, two incidents of theft occurred on the first full day of our break, both on the third floor where less activity takes place throughout the day.
For €12 + a refundable €10 deposit, peace of mind is worth any price.
Tales of cockroaches seem to be non existent, with not one of the many people I'd spoken too making any reference towards them, in fact over the whole week, only one was seen and this was outside at the popular karaoke venue known as Cactus Jacks.
I guess if your really intent on finding faults, you will always find them, but if you expect a 5* stay for a 3* price, then your really going to get disappointed.
The food wasn't fantastic, but there was enough of it and plenty of choices if you knew what went with what, a criticism here is the labels were not always in view, so it was a case of suck it and see, but on the whole much better than anything you'd purchase from the mall with chips.
All the staff were welcoming and friendly and couldn't do enough for you.
The Animation team were the heartbeat of this hotel and were on the go from morning to night, Laura, Miguel & Alesanndro really worked hardest, and got everyone involved where able, they never seemed to sleep!
They seemed to do everything from the kids club, to the nightly entertainment stage shows, plenty of variety and if your staying for 14 days, it is unlikely you'll see the same show twice due to the varied amount of shows they put on.
After they were off the clock, Laura, Miguel & Alessandro, would all stay back and put in extra hours with both adults and children alike, most nights up until midnight, when the bar closes, but their is a chilled out non invasive attitude by the hotel, that allows you to continue your conversations and drinks at your leisure, most nights, our group never left until 01:00a.m.
Throughout the day, their are plenty of things to get involved in, a well run timetable and variety again, archery, pistol shooting, darts, pool, flip flop flipping and daily water polo for both adults and children's sessions.
This is truly a fabulous resort that enjoys making your holiday enjoyable, nothing is a problem, the only problems you will have are those your looking for, remember your only staying for a short period of time, your not buying the place.

All I can say about this place is WOW...

All I can say about this place is WOW - fantastic, we booked this through Thomas Cook as it shown it was suitable for disabled passengers in wheelchairs, the complex is all flat so everywhere was accessible. The staff were so friendly and kind and could not do enough for you. I asked for a room on ground floor this was confirmed the week before by email. The resort of Las Cucharas is quiet, thats what I was looking for to relax, no noise at nights, you can still find bars open for a late drink with very good atmosphere. Got to try Popeye's Sports Bar in Centro Commercial Las Cucharas, Scott and Gill offer the best breakfast in the resort. We will definately return to this hotel. I even joined the affiliate program for future stays. Going back 24/04/08

We arrive with high expectation following a glowing set of previous reviews. There are many things to commend this hotel but we very quickly got bored with the lack of variety in the restuarant, so we soon swapped to lunch and ate out in the evenings. The other let down was the room, the design was fine but the decor and fittings were in serious need of overhaul. However, there was evidence that room renovation was ongoing in the complex. Finally, I was a little disappointed in Costa Teguise itself or Breezy Teguise as a friend later called it. I much prefered Playa Blanca or even Carmen.

Abersolutly fantastic! !
Hotel rooms were spacious and spotless. Entertainment team just couldn't of possibly done anymore to entertain and were superb.
Location couldn't of been any better. Over the road from beach and bus stop outside hotel. Very family orintated. Good nights out at cacktus jacks and legend for all ages.
Food in restaurant was tasty and lots of lovely places to eat near by. Hammys on sea front a must. Only bad meal was in Flannigans and that was horrible and def not value for money.
Did grand tour of the island which was a full day but well worth it.
Will definatly go back to costa tegise and this hotel again. Reqested a pursific room and got it. Fab FAb

Never been to Lanzarote before so...

Never been to Lanzarote before so wasn't sure what to expect following mixed reports from friends/colleagues. Absolutely delighted by the island and glad that we ignored its detractors.
The H10 Gardens was also a surprise package, although our apartment was not one of the refurbished ones it was absolutely fine. I had booked independently via internet and requested 2 adjoining ground floor apts as my father is disabled, my request was met with no problem. Greeting on arrival was superb, mother wanted a rubber mat for the shower, it had arrived in the room before I got back from reception to ask for it!
Location was superb as other reviewers have said; if you hire a car you are pretty central for the island's highlights, are 5 mins from the beach, good mixture of shops and places to eat nearby. Although we didn't use it there was a bus stop right outside the hotel.
Food in the hotel was ok, you could always find something agreeable; sometimes it wasn't very hot; the secret then is to use the kiddies milk microwave!
The sports and entertainment were a very pleasant surprise and to a very high standard. This was a good time to go if you are bothered by children and like space as the hotel and pool were not particularly busy.
All the sports/entertainment staff (they did both) were very pleasant and certainly contributed to a positive experience. English TV was limited to news & Eurosport but who goes to watch TV with their weather!
Will certainly return.

26.12.07 - 01.01.08
I thought it was absolutely FABULOUS. Good location.
The entertainment was outstanding and they all worked very hard to make our holiday more enjoyable.
Kids club I would give 10 out of 10 because there was always an activity going on throughout the day even for us adults!
Staff at this H10 was very helpful, the complex itself was very clean and rooms very comfortable.
Didn’t eat in the restaurant so couldn't comment on the food, but was always busy when passing.
We will no doubt use these H10 apartments again this year.

First things first, the ONLY thing I...
8 / 10
Jan 2008, Dr O Stevenson

First things first, the ONLY thing I was disappointed with was the food.
We had an absolutely lovely, relaxing and entertaining holiday in a hotel with fantastic facilities for our 2 children (almost 2 and 3 and a half) and a stone’s throw from the beach.
The hotel was not of superb decor, however I was unlucky to be staying in the as yet un-modernised portion of the hotel, and 60% of the rooms have been refurbed over the last 2yrs.
The rooms however were perfectly adequate and apartments were not cramped for us 4. The kitchen facilities were exactly the same as I have come to expect in every similar hotel, an oven and hob, a kettle and a fridge. The TV in the lounge had enough channels so that the kids could always find something in English to watch at the end of a hard day in the pool (usually Scooby Doo).
The communal areas were pleasant and always clean.
There was nightly entertainment, including the compulsory kids disco (aga-do do do, push pineapple, shake a tree...) and I have to say the evening shows were of a SUPERB standard, The animation crew put on most of the shows and I was absolutely astounded at their talent, the professional shows were also fantastic.
The animation crew were the best I have come across. They are busy ALL day entertaining adults and kids, but leave you alone if you are not into beach volley ball or the like. Kids clubs ran from 0! However I would say the groups from 4yrs upwards were the real bonus, all kinds of activities for 4 HOURS A DAY! There are several great play areas (from tots to teens).
The food was poor I admit it. Breakfast and lunch were fine, though nothing special.
Evening meal was less appetising. I am not a fussy eater and always found something I enjoyed, however that was salad on two nights! There were some lovely meals to be had but it is rather luck, (e.g. if you arrive whilst steaks are being cooked then you can have it cooked to your liking and nice and hot, but otherwise you may get cold leather!) Many of the stews were very tasty but did not look all that appetising and the same goes for the fish.
There is a kids meal time area which came in handy when the kids were playing up at least we could almost enjoy a meal. If you have fussy eaters they will be living on sausages, nuggets fish fingers and pizza.
I would like to end by stating that I a professional person, and can be a little fussy about who I am sharing a hotel with, that said, we met lovely people and the hotel was not over run by yobs and in fact the British tourists were the best behaved!
Despite the food, I would gladly and rapidly return if only for the fantastic kid’s facilities.

The Hotel was very good - a bargain!...
8 / 10
Dec 2007, jennyfer

The Hotel was very good - a bargain! Well situated in the heart of Costa Teguise, a very short stroll from the beach, cafes, restaurants, shops and supermarkets, it was clean, comfortable, well maintained and had daily maid-service.
Our apartment was beautifully situated, with views out across the pools towards the sea, and our balcony was a real sun-trap even on the cooler days. There were loads of sunbeds available by the pool - no need to rush out and reserve one - even though there were a surprising amount of people staying there, considering it was December.
There were activities for the children (lots of under 5s there at that time of the year!) and for adults too - not something I wanted to join in, but many did and they sounded as though they were having a good time.
Although we didn't use the restaurant in the hotel, it looked spacious and clean. The prices in the hotel bar were expensive compared with other places in the resort, and since hardly anyone was in there (priced out?) there was no atmosphere either.
The reception staff were very pleasant and helpful, and the maids did a very good job; although we did not need them to come in every day, they did "extras" like washing-up when we had rushed out without doing it - I'm sure they don't have to do that.
We shall definitely return to this Hotel.
The thing that most travel-brochures do not tell you is that Lanzarote rainy-season starts in December and lasts until March. It may be true that average year-round temperatures are 70, but in December expect some light rain, a fair amount of cloud-cover and some quite chilly evenings! However, out of 10 days there, we had only one truly "drizzly" day, and although a few days were variable, the sun was hot when it did break through the clouds, and we came back with a tan, so it couldn't have been too dreary! It is quite breezy, but usually the wind is not cold.
The pools and sea were both very cold, and it was a bit too windy and variable to sit on a beach, although the watersports enthusiasts were out on the waves most days, and the sea crashing in over the rocks was a spectacular sight on one particularly windy day.
There are lots of restaurants around the resort, catering for every imaginable taste. Some of the best are to be found on the square about 1km up the hill from the hotel - El Patio and El Pescador both did very good food, and the service in El Pescador was friendly, welcoming and attentive. There are many others to choose from - one really good Italian restaurant in the shopping centre at Playa Cucharas, which unfortunately closed for 10 days the day after we tried it, and where otherwise we would have returned. And just a short way up the hill from the Hotel is an authentic Canarian restaurant, where we had one of the best meals. This seems to be where the locals go - it fills up at about 10 at night, and although the restaurateur does not speak much English, you are made very welcome. The menu is small and features things like rabbit, pork and "grandmothers’ recipe" special dishes, not a chip in sight!
The trips on offer from Last Minute Travel in the resort are well-run and good value for money. Beware though that the Fuerteventura trip is just a bit too long, as there is not much to see and after several hours of touring the mountains it gets rather tedious!
Back in Lanzarote, a must-see is Jameos del Agua, whether on the half-day island tour or the full-day one. The place is magical! The tour through Timanfaya National Park is worth doing, too.
There is a very good, cheap, and regular bus-service from right outside the Hotel to Arrecife, Puerto del Carmen, and Playa Blanca (and probably to other places that we did not have time to visit, too).
Arrecife is described in the guide-books as a real working town with no concessions to tourism - how right they are! The only things of note were a slightly squashed-looking "castle", (a single storey building housing an art exhibition) one slightly-attractive church and a harbour which we wouldn't have found at all had we not been following a recommended route for a walk to take in "all" the sights, and which was supposed to take 2 hours (it took about 45 minutes!)
So we caught the next bus out to Puerto del Carmen, where there is lots of life, over a 5km stretch of resort. Lots of shops and restaurants here, and some lovely beaches.
All in all, we would return to Lanzarote, and definitely to this resort and Hotel. Perhaps next time it will need to be a little earlier in the year - October or June seem to be the best times, weather-wise, according to the locals.

We stayed at Lanzarote Gardens the...

Aug 2007, Mrs S McCurry

We stayed at Lanzarote Gardens the first three weeks in Aug. (2 adults and two children aged 4 and 1). This was the fourth time I have been to Costa Teguise and it is a great holiday for family's and couples.
The hotel was absolutely great, it has a baby club, junior club and entertainment and games for everyone throughout the day. For the children it also has a ballpool, small playground and a larger one in the kids club.
The evening entertainment was probably the best I have seen from any other hotels I have been to. The animation team really did put a lot of time and effort into it as you can tell. Staff were all very friendly.
There was also a lifeguard on duty throughout the day. Pools were cold but once you are in you soon warm up.
The food was nice and a good selection to choose from although the children's buffet could be a little better.
Overall this was one of the best holidays I've had and my husband and children both enjoyed it, would definitely go back.

Jul 2007, Mrs Jennie Hanson

My family of 4, travelled for 10 days in Feb 07. It was absolutely amazing, very clean, well maintained and the entertainment staff were fantastic.
The hotel facilities for both adults and children were extremely well planned. You could laze in the sun all day or take part in the daily entertainment programme. The children’s entertainers are really lovely people and you feel really relaxed leaving your children in their company.
The food has a variety of choices suiting all types of customers, it was hot and plenty of choice. There is also a pool snack bar which is great for getting out of the midday sun.
We are travelling back in October for another 10 days, as it was a lovely relaxing holiday!

Jun 2007, Mrs S Potter

We spent 2 weeks in Lanzarote Gardens, we found it fantastic overall. The activities for adults and children were brilliant lots to do. The maids were thorough with the rooms basic but very clean, and friendly.
We met lots of people who were all friendly including all the staff. The animation team were just BRILLIANT they made everyone feel welcome and put on the best activities and shows in the day and evening.
Paul was the main man he made everyone feel welcome and helped you out with anything no matter what. We have booked to go back in July 2007 for 3 weeks and that must say something about this Hotel, it is the team that make this holiday so pleasant overall FAB.
The food was great a large variety of everything you could want. Look out for Paul on the Animation team he is great with everyone!
