Riad Tzarra

August 24 -29 The mystique of Morocco is no better illustrated than when you walk through the maze of the medina past numerous little doorways and finally a door opens to you and you see the beauty within. Riad Tzarra was a haven of tranquility after the hub bub of the medina and we returned to it gratefully each evening. Very elegant riad with charming, friendly staff. We brought our two daughters (13 and 16), who loved every moment. The plunge pool - and it is just that was very refreshing after a day in the souk, and the roof terraces is attractive and lovely to sunbathe on. The decoration is very understated and chic. It is beautifully run and the staff are exceptionally helpful. They organise interesting off the beaten track tours up into the mountains too - which can take in Berber markets and for lunch with a Berber family. We will definitely return

The Riad Tzarra scores highly for friendliness, and for its food. It's not as clean as we'd expect from a North American perspective. Also, we found the experience of staying four nights in the medina a bit overwhelming. In retrospect, we would recommend going into the medina with a guide -- we wouldn't have gotten lost as much as we did, and we wouldn't have run the gauntlet of children and young men running us around in circles. The Riad itself is charming.

The riad is beautiful, very calm and relaxing. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff. We enjoyed a trip to the local market to buy ingredients for dinner and then our wonderful cook showed us how to prepare an authentic Moroccan dinner which we ate on the terrace as the sun set on a perfect day. The hammam was also excellent. From the first moment of contact everything was arranged with efficient and helpful communication. Thanks to all the fantastic staff!

A wonderful place to stay in exciting Marrakech, Riad Tzarra cannot be too highly recommended. Ideally and conveniently situated in the heart of the Medina this riad exudes class and charm. Staff are charming,attentive, helpful and yet discreet at all times.Nothing was ever too much trouble. We arrived in magical Marrakech for a 4 very exciting 4 night stay.... our first but not our last visit. The Riad Tzarra was everything we hoped it would be, peaceful, beautiful, wonderful friendly staff. It is a haven away from the exciting chaos of the Souks. My wife and I had never visited Marrakech before, and were looking for somewhere exciting and slightly exotic for a 20th Wedding Anniverssary break. I researched Tripadvisor and settled on Riad Tzarra for its intimacy, simple style and authenticity. It did not disapoint. My wife and I had a three night stay in the Africa room. This was pleasent, first floor and extremely quiet and comfortable. We arrived from the airport in the evening and finding a taxi to go to the Riad was no problem. When the door was opened we were greeded with big hospitality and a wonderfull view of the Riad. Our stay in the Africa room was very nice and authentic. The view from the roof top was really something and eating breakfirst in the sun gave every day a nice start. We even had a nice trip in the hammam and the following massage gave us new energy for the long walks in Marrakesh. Definately recommendable

Came to know of Riad Tzarra whilst in Marrakech looking through Alistair Sawday. The owners of this Riad own another just a few doors away..Dar Hanane. This Riad Tzarra is absolutely beautiful. Having spent a dissapointing first 2 nights in Marrakech at the beginning of our holiday, staying in Tzarra for our last 2 nights offered us the opportunity to come back to the UK with extremely fond and romantic memories of Marrakech. What a fabulous short stay in this divine riad, sister to Dar Hanane (the same owners) just a bit further down the same derb in the heart of the Medina. The plunge pool was very welcome after the heat in the Souk and we will surely come back and try out te hammam when its not so hot. The riad is beautifully decorated and the staff very friendly. Would recommend this as a great place from which to sample the delights of Marrakech.
