Just returned from this Hotel, cant believe what the other review has said. All the Staff could not do enough for you. Nothing was too much. The hotel is in a great location just on the front with its own pool and one for the kiddies. I will definetly be recommending this hotel to all friends and cant wait to see everyone next year.

Sep 2008, Mrs S J Bissitt

We had a fabulous holiday at the Viva Holiday Village. Our two children 7 & 5 really loved it. The apartments were spacious, holiday village very clean and tidy. If you are considering booking definately go all inclusive - it would be a expensive trip otherwise! Sunbeds are a nightmare loads of stupid brits getting up at all hours to reserve one with a towel!!! Did'nt even go there far to hot to lay in the sun. Saw plenty of sun burnt people. Food was really good we are quite a fussy lot and I must say the food was great and the service excellent - we did'nt bother with the Carribbean Grill or the Italian as the buffet with brilliant. The evening entertainment was enjoyed by the kids, however we only stayed until the end of the cash prize bingo! The bingo worth having a go at we were bingo virgins beforehand but won 400 euro the first night we played! We would definately return to the Viva at sometime in the future.

Just returned from a weeks holiday...

Aug 2008, Mrs F Whamond

Just returned from a weeks holiday with goldtrail, we were told that the transfer to the resort would take 1 hour, but it ended up being 3 and a half hours due to the bus going round the scenic route (not) and stopping for a so called toilet break at a bar at lake bafa, the drivers were obviously on commision for bringing in tourists, the prices were inflated and were charged 1 euro to go to the toilet, a total joke.
Arrived at the altunakar and were asked to go and get ourselfes a drink at the bar but we were hot and tired and just wanted a shower, we were left waiting for two hours, we kept asking could we please go to the room, and were eventually told the hotel was full, and that we were being moved to another hotel for just one night, obviously we were v v peed off, but were reasurred that our room would be ready first thing in the morning.
The hotel we were taken too, then informed us that we had been booked into theyre hotel for a week, we went back to the altunakar to try and sort it out but suddenly no one spoke english, we ended up not getting a room and having to stay in the other hotel. The attitude of the altunakar manager was disgusting he lied to us and was totally uninterested in helping us out. We left many messages for goldtrail but no one got in touch with us, we spotted the rep who had been on our transfer on the street, but suddenly he didnt understand us either. We made the best of our holiday, and enjoyed it but it was no thanks to the altunakar and goldtrail

Aug 2008, Ms Jl Cotton

Sorry forgot to mention in my previous review that the plug socket which was situated in the head board just above the matress where my 2year old son slept was hanging out of the headboard an everytime we pluged anything into it the plug got so hot we had to unplug it as we were worried it may cause a fire. There are so many negatives about this hotel its hard to remember them all at one time. The balcony was filthy an the chairs were that bad u would not even sit on them, the shelf in the bath room was almost diagnol things would just slip straight off.the light on the stairs didnt always work and when it did it did not stay on long enough to get up them so we were having to negotiate them in the dark fun !
I hope i have got my pont across lol

This hotel should be taken out of...

Jan 2008, Mrs G B

This hotel should be taken out of brochures until it has sorted its standards out.
We were flying with a Turkish airline and had landed in Bodrum airport to only find out my daughters suitcase had been left at Manchester airport. She didn’t get it until Tuesday 2 days after we had landed.
Going to the hotel the driver told us it would take 2 hrs to get to the hotel but instead it took us 6 hours to get there and he was driving like a maniac.
We arrived at the hotel only to find my mother and sister already had their room but we didn’t have a room and this was 5.30am in the morning the staff were doing their best. My daughter wasn’t feeling very well and we wanted to get her into a room to get some sleep.
When we finally got a room the hotel manager told us that the breakfast bar stopped serving at 9 but we could come and have it at 10 seeing as our room was delayed and that we were tired. The room we was in was temporary but my daughter had to sleep on a bench like sofa and me and my husband had to have to single beds pushed together which was very uncomfy, it was not very clean and the sheets had toast crumbs all over it.
When we went down for our breakfast, the hotel staff were very rude and told us we should have come down earlier to get our breakfast, this on the other hand made it very unpleasant has it was mine and my husband’s 23rd anniversary and our day had been horrible so far.
We went out for a walk to cool down when we came back the hotel manager told us he had moved our stuff into a different room for us. But he had moved my mother’s stuff and lost a pair of her flip flops. The breakfast was horrible and we had our breakfast at the banana restaurant next door which was fabulous and very friendly.
At night we couldn’t get to sleep until 3am because of the cheers bar across the road playing there music very loud.
We would not recommend this hotel has it doesn’t have entertainment at night and we were the only English people in the hotel which made it uncomfortable.
My daughter and my husband went into the pool and there was poo at the side of the ladders they didn’t go in it the rest of the holiday.

We stayed for 1 week at the Hotel...

Aug 2006, Mrs V Collins

We stayed for 1 week at the Hotel Altunakar in August 2006. Very pleasant Hotel with a lovely swimming pool, separate children’s pool and plenty of sun beds. 2 metres from the 2nd beach, with sea view from balcony, pool and dining area.
Owner, family and staff were all very friendly and spoke good English. Staff were especially helpful when Goldtrail failed to collect us at 3.15am to return to airport. Despite it being middle of the night the owners son contacted the rep and made arrangements for us to be collected.
We would have missed our flight if not for their help. Drinks and snacks at the Hotel were very reasonable; soft drinks were same price or less than in shops/bars. Room was basic, but clean, with air conditioning included.
Breakfast was usual bread, jams, salad, olives, eggs, cheese, coffee, tea and squash, with plenty for everyone. The hot water was a bit temperamental, as is the case with most Hotels in Altinkum. We would recommend this Hotel and return ourselves.

Sep 2004, Mrs M McMillan

On arrival in the early hours of the morning our room was not ready. After a wait of 8 hours we were taken to our room.
The room was still not ready it was filthy bedding, towels etc., had mould on them and so did the pillows. During our long wait in the lounge we observed the breakfast, buffet area and were appalled at the very poor standards of hygiene. The food was not covered and the flies were all over it. The Manager was evasive and shrugged his shoulders when we complained. The young receptionist was sullen to the point of being rude and didn’t seem to speak any English whatsoever.
When we booked we were assured our room had a sea view. Our balcony faced a sidewall of the hotel next door. Our balcony door was jammed so it was impossible to gain access to this area. This hotel should be removed from the brochure until standards have greatly improved. A considerable number of guests demanded to be moved as we did.
The only plus this hotel had was the location.

Sep 2004, Mr J Laws

We arrived at the hotel at 5am. My mother in law didn’t have a room. The manager said that Goldtrail had overbooked.
My partner and 3 year old daughter went to our room and there wasn’t a bed for her, went to see the rep she told the manager and it was 3 days when she got a cot, which had a hole in. The toilet wouldn’t fill up with water so we had to flush it with a bucket. The bedding was only changed twice in the fortnight we were there. The room was small. One small wardrobe for the three of us. Had to ask for toilet rolls.
The manager was horrible. Got wrong of him for buying pop from a shop next door to the hotel. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.
The resort was lovely, beach was nice, just the hotel was horrid.. I will be going back to Altinkum next year but I will never go back in the hotel Altunakar
