Impressive hotel and self catering...
9 / 10
Sep 2006, Mr R J Kettle

Impressive hotel and self catering studios. Studios were down at pool level so no hike up the hill to the hotel rooms. Very clean - rooms cleaned daily and sheets changed in the week too! Air con a must - 55 euros but worth it - as it was well over 40 degrees in the week we were there.
Good choice of pools and good restaurant on site (Nostalgia). Enigma and Coliseum in Pefkos also worth a try. Car hire best value at Marathon - 3 days for the price of 2 - take the time to go south to Prassonasi where the Med is one side of the beach and the Aegean the other. Close to Lindos too if you want to do the touristy things but go in the morning before it gets too hot.
Highly recommended, especially s/c in Pefkos Beach Hotel, as you can buy breakfast in the pool bar for less than 5 euros. We will be going there again next year, I think.

We've just got back from a fantastic...

Aug 2006, Mrs A Dixon

We've just got back from a fantastic week at Pefkos Beach Hotel - the rooms are lovely - clean and well maintained daily. The view from our patio was amazing.
Our room was at the top of the hill and seriously, this resort is not for the elderly or infirm (I am currently 5 months pregnant and found it really hard going to get up the hill).
The pools were lovely - however there were several occasions during the week we were there that there were no sun loungers left by 10am.
The breakfast provided was adequate, juice, coffee and rolls with jam or ham and cheese. No change during the week but tasty never the less.
We went to the Oasis on the beach road several times to use their pool during the day and had some lovely meals there.
We also ate at Jasmine and Nostalgia which were lovely as well. Wherever we ate, it was clean, well priced and tasty.
We hired a car from Marathon for one day - after being told it would be ready to collect at 8.30 it was finally ready at 10.15 which I was not that impressed with, however it was 40 euros compared to 58euros that Thompson would have charged.
Lindos is well worth a visit - we went there in the evening and had a lovely meal on a rooftop overlooking the rest of the town - truly magical.
I would thoroughly recommend both Rhodes and the Pefkos Beach hotel to anyone.

Me and my boyfriend stayed at the...

Jul 2006, Miss R Neary

Me and my boyfriend stayed at the Pefkos Beach Hotel for a week in July 2006. As it was a late deal and a very reasonable price we were unsure of what to expect but I can not praise this hotel enough, as we had an absolutely fantastic and relaxing break! We stayed Bed and Breakfast which meant that we were in the apartments that were based at the top of the hill, however, this was only a minor problem during the day when the sun was at its hottest, but the views made it all worthwhile.
The rooms were spotless and cleaned daily, decorated to a high standard and spacious. Fridges, safety deposit boxes and air con were available but for a price. Breakfast was basic but was enough to see you through the morning, but a great range of foods were available at the poolside bar throughout the day at a reasonable price. Staff were very friendly and accommodating and always greeted you with a smile! Sun Loungers were always available by the two pools what ever time of day.
Pefkos itself is an extremely beautiful resort with plenty of bars to eat and drink in (reasonable prices 8 euros for a three course meal!!) and plenty of gift shops. Lindos is well worth a visit but be warned, the walk up to the Acropolis is a killer in that heat! take plenty of water/cold drinks and stop off in the shady places for a rest often. The views from the top are breath taking so well worth the hike! And only 6 Euros entrance fee which is a bargain compared to other excursions on offer.
I would also recommend the glass bottom boat trip that is advertised around the resort, 15 euros for a three hour trip with free drinks included, absolutely excellent trip visiting three bays, and stopping off for a refreshing dip in some of the clearest waters I have ever seen in my life! Pefkos beach is small but attractive with clear sand and lovely waters, be warned though, take money with you as the sun beds and umbrellas are 8 euros for the day! I would recommend Lee's beach side cafe for lunch for gorgeous smoothies and Greek kebabs!
All in all a fantastic holiday made better by the friendly and welcoming people of Pefkos! We shall definitely be coming back in the near future.

Just got back from Pefkos Beach Hotel...
10 / 10
Jul 2006, Miss J Garraty

Just got back from Pefkos Beach Hotel and Apartments and had an excellent time. We arrived at 5.30 am on 15th June and entered our room and couldn't believe what we saw. Having holidayed several times in Greece you expect very basic accommodation but our room was outstanding.
Most of the rooms have been recently refurbished and are really modern. It felt like Linda Barker had been in! Spot lights in the ceiling. Modern trendy bathroom with even a telephone next to the loo, puts a new meaning to pay as you go! TV with BBC world news and other English speaking channels. Wicker and glass patio set. Soft furnishing. Best room by far we had ever stayed in.
Ok we were up on the hill but to be honest it wasn't half as bad than we expected (this coming from me who is overweight and gets in my car to cross the road!). You sort of get used to the steps going up to the rooms, but the rooms are well worth it and the views are fantastic. Overall the hotel staff were extremely friendly, food / snacks at the pool side bar are really good. Beach 10 mins walk Lindos 10 mins in a taxi (definitely worth a visit!). What more can I say.
I have nothing negative to say except if you are going soon I’m envious! I would definitely stay there again.

We have just returned from a 2 week...
9 / 10
Jul 2005, Mrs B.J Cozens

We have just returned from a 2 week break at the Pefkos beach hotel ,on the beautiful island of Rhodes. The staff at the hotel, like the majority of Greek people were wonderful and very friendly.
We were staying in the studio apartments which were in a very good position situated around the pool and on the lower level of the hotel complex. The choice for eating places is endless. The colisseum, Enigma, Nostalgia and the fantastic staff at Smile were some of our favourites. Lee bar on Pefkos beach for lunch is also worth a visit, they have a great taste in background music. It is definitely worth hiring a car so you can explore the island. We used marathon car hire which we found to be very competitive.
We found the resort of Pefkos to be perfect for our family holiday of 2 adults and 2 teenagers. It was a friendly and none threatening place to allow our 2 teens to be able to go to the beach on their own, and to be able to stroll out on their own at night, as being with mum and Dad is not cool. There is just enough hustle and bustle without being rowdy. We would certainly be tempted to go back again.

Hi Just got back. After having read...
7 / 10
Oct 2004, Mr P Wareham

Hi Just got back.
After having read other reviews, I was a bit dubious to what I had let myself in for, however it was great.
The Hotel as in the brochures was on a hill, however if you are self catering, your close to the pools, reception, safety deposit boxes, bar, cafe. If your B&B look out.
The B&B accommodation is situated in the oldest part of the grounds and that is "UP HILL" be prepared for stronger legs, or better still get a car.
The accommodations are basic as always in Greece, However again if you are B&B you don’t get any catering utensils, plates, kettle or microwave...It is the only place I know where your better of paying the cheaper self catering price, your not missing much on the B&B cos its corn flakes, bread, ham and cheese, you can get a breakfast in the same place if your self catering for €3.00 and that’s bacon and egg.
The surrounding views are great, especially if your B&B you can see for miles ( apart at the rear of the Hotel as that’s a "MOUNTAIN")
Beach is 500m away and is a nice sandy beach although it is a slight incline down too it, its not too bad, and if you stop to visit the many shops, restaurants, etc on the way you don’t notice it.
There are many eating places and some are very cheap, I tried 14 of them on a 7 day holiday and only found one bad one ( blue bay ) good food if you like finding hairs in the food and the chef picking his nose while he’s cooking your food, even had to send the cutlery back as the was dried egg on it, waiters there very unhappy chappies....But don’t let this put you off...you got to try them to find them!!
There was some really lovely restaurants and cheap too Golden dragon was a Chinese and a Greek steak house split in two inside, meal for two under €20.00 including drinks. This was opposite Hellas another lovely place again at a great price. Then there were the more expensive ones, but great food " ENIGMA" €50.00 for two.
Many trips are available from the hotel, and a few places in the shops, however the best thing to do is hire a car it saves all the problems of walking up the hill to your room as you can park outside most of the older ones in the B&B section.
You can get it from the reps in the hotel at around €75 a day, however there are 4 hire places just by the hotel all a lot cheaper, at the entrance you have hertz car hire price unknown, Lindos car hire, Marthon and one in the square all from £50 per three days.
The pools in the hotel are lovely there is two on the top layer one large and one paddle for children, the one on the middle layer for smaller children complete with fountain, and the lower one has a water fall & fountain and starts at .8m to 1.5m all were used, don’t let the 1-3 layers put you off there is only around 12 steps to each layer.
The food in the hotel is nice and as cheap as outside so if you don’t want to go out stay in and enjoy!!
Staff at the hotel are mostly friendly, however the night porter is loud, had to ask him to turn his TV down, and every time he answered the phone he shouted ( sure he must be deaf) All staff speak English and I think German too!! Although luckily not many there at the time I was there, but even if there had been, there are enough sunloungers around the pool that even they could not have covered with towels, so you don’t even have to rush to get a sun bed, there are loads and a brolly for every two sun beds.
All in all it was great and everyone likes things others don’t and vice versa, so I say go try it, even had people in wheelchairs staying there so its not that inaccessible.
SO GO TRY AND ENJOY................................

Absolutely fabulous accommodation and...

Absolutely fabulous accommodation and a lovely small family orientated resort. The breakfast was a bit naff, but the facilities, location and staff were all fab.
There is a short steep hill to reach the accommodation but it looks worse than it is.
The two pools at the hotel are clean and inviting and the beach is only a ten minute stroll from here.
Favourite restaurant was ‘The Greek House’ for excellent chicken kebab or lamb chops.
We are considering booking again for next year

Jul 2004, Miss C Rowlands

I used to work in the resort of Pefkos as a holiday rep and the Pefkos beach was one of my hotels to look after, and I have to say it was the best of the bunch.
great staff always willing to help and very good English, great hotel pools both of them and the restaurant attached nostalgia is fantastic it is a little pricey compared to the rest around town but it is well worth it.
although the brekkie in the hotel is not all that good but they were working on it at the end of last season so it might have improved.
the hill leading up to some of the rooms is a little steep so if you have walking problems then I would request a low floor when you book with your travel agent but it is only a request.
the rooms are lovely once you get inside and quite large compared to some Greek hotels. and the view as out of this world you will know what I mean when you get there just fantastic.
excellent place for all the family, couples, groups and whoever else think that this sounds too good to be true. just book up and see for yourself.
when you go please say yassou (hello in Greek) to anthioula and flora the receptionist girls both fantastic girls and very very friendly.. form corrie

Jul 2004, Miss G Jones

My sister and I, decided to go on a relaxing girly holiday and picked Pefkos as our destination as it was last minute and cheap!
On our arrival to the hotel, we were relieved that our apartment was at the bottom of the hill, since most of the rooms were at the top of a steep hill. The staff at the hotel were extremely friendly and the cleaner even escorted us to our room.
Beware at this time of year the sun is roasting-it really was too hot! We caught the public bus to Rhodes town on one day which was great fun and cheaper to do yourself, than to go on arranged visits with the tour operator. The public bus also dropped people off at the water parks etc.
Everyone was so friendly and the food was great! I highly reccommend that you try the Baklova from the local shops and try the 3 for 2 cocktails at the "Peacock" bar!
Have a great holiday!
