Just returned from the Louis Imperial Hotel Paphos. Hotel absolutely fantastic, food out of this world, with an excellent choice of dishes for every taste. Will ceretainly be returning to this hotel in the near future. The weather was fantastic, we wished we had gone for a fortnight. One downfall was the lack of evening entertainment, but apart from this the holiday was perfect.

Stayed here for two weeks. The food was excellent. I'm quite a fussy eater and certainly didn't starve - the desserts are fantastic.

We had booked a sea view room, but on arrival discovered that we were actually over the top of the main entrance which faces the road. We had no problem swapping rooms and the staff were apologetic. As it was our anniversary we received fruit and a bottle of bubbly.

The room was spotlessly clean

The staff were very helpful.

Many trips can be booked through the reps - would recommend Kykkos Monastery. We also went over to Egypt. you can either go on a cruise for a few days (but don't get a rebate on the meals you have already paid for in the hotel), or you can fly over for the day. We chose this option which costed about £200 for 2 of us. It is a very long day as they picked us up anout 5.30am and we returned at about 2am the next day. Breakfast was provided in the hotel, but was only bread and cooked meats - cereal or toast would have been nice. You do get fed on the plane - both ways - and you have a buffet lunch in a 5 star hotel opposite the pyramids and then have a buffet at night on the boat trip along the Nile. Very enjoyable, but be prepared for people trying to sell you things when you go to the pyramids and the Sphinx.

Nice walk into the harbour (about 20 minutes) and we also walked back from the Tombs of the Kings and the market - though it did take about an hour. There is a regular bus service to all these places and they are really cheap.

The only downside I found was that I expected it to be more Greek! It is in fact very English which is great if you want that, but if you want a more Greek holiday go to Greece!

Overall, really enjoyed it. Excellent facilities - on site shop, lovely gardens, plenty of sunbeds and room to move them ( at Alexander the Great they are allocated on arrival and are chained together). The entertainment was a bit lacking at the hotel, but there are plenty of bars around.

We also received a jar of marmalade in our room on the next to last day as a goodbye present, which I though was a nice touch.

Not sure if I will return to Cyprus, but if I do I will definitely stay here again and would certainly recommend it.

Will probably suit both couples and families as there is a small playground with swings, etc.

The standard rule of men wearing long trousers to dinner applies and is strictly enforced - someone hadn't taken any with him and was turned way, so had to borrow his friend's.

This has to be one of the most relaxing holidays I've ever had. My mother and I have just returned from a 10 night stay at this hotel which is very much geared towards English guests.

The staff were very professional and all spoke varying degrees of English. We had chosen a twin room with a sea view which also looked out over a gorgeous swimming pool and beautifully kept gardens. The room was fresh and clean, the air conditioning effective and the balcony had an expandable towel rail, so no need to take your own pegs etc. The bathroom could do with an overhaul though.

Food & Drink - all buffet service and great choice and quality, with a mix of English, Greek and themed foods (they even served brussel sprouts on Carvery Night!). The only improvement I would like to see is an increase in the 'live station' cooking.

Drinks - in this hotel they are Expensive, (2 g & ts EUR 12!) and because you sign for everything, keep track on your bill or you may get a nasty shock as you check out.

Cyprus only started with the Euro in January and everything is far more expensive than my previous visit. Don't expect to get many bargains in the shops here.

Entertainment - the only reason why this hotel didn't get a 10/10. To be fair I think we stayed during the cross-over between their winter and summer programmes, but It Was Dire, so unless sole singers with portable organs are your thing, be prepared to take a short walk to nearby bars and shops, or a 10 minute bus ride to Paphos Harbour.

The brilliant thing about this hotel is that it is suitable for both family and adult parties. During my stay, people with children tended to base themselves around the swimming pool, but for those that preferred a more peaceful location could get right away into the gardens or private beach and away from any pool noise, and because dinner times spanned 3 hours, those that wanted a quieter meal waited until after 8pm by which time most of the families had eaten and gone. Perfect.

All in all, a lovely place to stay with wonderful facilities set in a beautiful location. I would definitely go back tomorrow.

Just returned from a 7 day holiday at the Imperial Beach Hotel. All I can say is Fantastic ! Great food, Lovely Staff and entertainment team. The Hotel is of a very high standard. Our room was excellent. Could do with more cabaret acts at night although we did see amazing husband & wife Mind Magicians who had our group talking about the following day. Pool was cold but luckely weather was great for February. Certainly recommend the Imperial.

Returned to UK on 4th November after spending a week in Paphos. We stayed in the Avanti in May 2005 and have to say the Hotel Louis Imperial Beach is in a better location, ideal if you like relaxing on the beach.

The reception staff were friendly and did what they could to accommodate our needs.

The negatives regarding the hotel was the fact that children were not allowed in the indoor swimming pool and the air conditioning was turned off at reception on the 31st October and as the weather was hot the rooms were very warm during the night.

Regarding the internet we had a 13 year old with us who spent a lot of time on the computer - at one stage it was free and then was out of order, be careful when putting money in the machines - occasionally they wouldn't work and reception said they were nothing to do with the hotel.

Would highly recommend this hotel, cannot comment on the entertainment as we were a party of 7 (4 adults and 3 children) and made our own. Go karting at Paphos Karting Centre is great fun as is the mini golf next door.

We went over as a wedding party of about 35 adults and children, the wedding couples room, was ransacked, the hotel manager was un-interested and blamed it on ourselves, even though the caretaker saw someone climbing out of the room. I think that the cleaner knew the people involved from her actions and general demeanour, also the police were called and promised to return with a crime number, we are at this time still waiting, they also appeared not interested. On a lighter note the entertainment team were brilliant all the way through the holiday.

We have just returned from a wonderful 10 night stay at this hotel and rate it as one of the best holidays we have had - and we are fussy people!

The hotel was comfortable & very clean - only downside is that it could do with a little updating but we'll forgive them for that as the standard of service was exceptionally high and made up for it!

The food was wonderful. Buffet style but with fantastic choice including a decent veggie section. Even though most nights had a 'theme' for the food, we were pleased that they continued to serve all Cypriot & Greek dishes too. We loved the layout of the hotel with the sunbathing areas around the pool, gardens or beach - what a choice. I wouldn't like to go in high season as I would imagine it packed but we were lucky, it was quiet and we had plenty of choice as to where to sunbathe.

Luckily we had made the decision to pay extra for a sea view room which we adored - our balcony was perfect and we spent many a happy hour sipping our G & T's on it before dinner!

I stayed at this hotel with my husband and teenage son for two weeks.

The food is of excellent standard with a great selection for all tastes, always fresh and piping hot. All the staff are friendly and helpful. The entertainment staff work very hard and go out of their way to make sure your holiday is enjoyable.

I will certainly be visiting them again in the near future and recommend this hotel for a good holiday.

We had no problems what so ever. The food was lovely, rooms very clean and tidy and the staff were fantastic. On the whole we all enjoyed it.

The only thing that was a bit of a let down were the sun beds seemed to be taking quite early, so you would have to go and get some out of the gardens if you wanted to sit by the pool.

I would also advise you to book a room with a sea view as we only had a inland view and it was not the best of sights (but who sits in their room on holiday anyway)!

First time to Cyprus, and we absolutely loved it and what a stroke of luck finding this hotel! Be warned though very hot for little ones, we burnt even with high factor on.

Superb food (put on 1/2 stone!), great pool, lovely gardens right down to a little beach, watersports very nearby also. So glad I didn't get pool view room as requested, as it would have been too noisy, instead we had a sea view room, overlooking the gardens and indoor pool area.

For a family of four, two camp beds on the floor was a bit cramped, but the air conditioning was a god send. Good maid service, staff friendly, nice clean hotel in good location.

Recommend the Fassouri Waterpark, even a sunbed bound mum like me enjoyed it! Early or late in the day trip to Pafos Harbour and Heritage site a must.

The only reason why I didn't give it 10/10 is due to the entertainment which was a bit lacking, and on some days it wasn't until 10.30 that you got a sunbed mattress, and had to get them yourselves (not quite 4/4* star stuff).

Otherwise great holiday, 11 days, half board was perfect.

My husband and 5 year old daughter stayed at this hotel for 2 weeks from the end of July into August 2007. We had a lovely time and would consider going back although probably at a cooler time of year.

The rooms were very good, not luxurious but of a reasonable size, well furnished, smart, and clean and everything worked.

The swimming pool was excellent, very warm with a shallow area shallow enough for 5 year olds and above. The rest of the pool is deeper but not more than 1.6m so you can be happy to let the kids get on with it if they are reasonable swimmers.

For "kids pool" read smallish paddling pool - great for the under 4s though. The indoor pool is for the over 18s only and has a more spa like feel to it, and much cooler which was good news in circa 40 degrees of heat! There is also a kid’s playground which has swings and a slide.

The beach is not great - a bit rocky and the rock pools are almost devoid of life except for the odd shrimp and crab. We did spend a few hours on it though for sand castles and there is an area of sea you can let the kids play in that is relatively safe.

We thought the food was very good, loads of choice for breakfast including cooked to order omelettes, eggs and pancakes as well as everything else you'd expect (more actually). Dinner in the evening was also very good, huge choice and very well cooked and there were themed nights and carvery and a kids buffet (nuggets, chips, baked beans etc) - I was pleasantly surprised and would say it was the best 4 star food I've had anywhere.

All the staff were very friendly and helpful. I have to particularly mention the entertainment staff (Rick, Brian, Caroline, Lauren and Daniela) who worked really hard throughout the day organising fun (but optional) activities for kids and adults alike (we particularly liked the water polo and aqua aerobics).

They are very funny, personable and providing you don't take any of it too seriously really improve the quality of your stay. Rick and Caroline (whom my daughter still misses) even came to see us off in their breaks.

I was initially disappointed that the kids club only ran for an hour in the morning and an hour in the afternoon; however the other activities available meant that the kids were kept quite busy and were in the pool for the rest of the time. When I booked though I had envisaged being able to go off with my husband for a few hours which was not possible.

The evening entertainment included an organised "kids party style" kids disco (games and dances) - my daughter loved these and had great fun. The rest of the entertainment was family orientated and a real laugh if you get stuck into it. There were some outside acts but I personally preferred the in house stuff all done slightly tongue in cheek with audience participation.

We personally didn't do much outside the hotel (due to the heat) so can't really comment on that except we did go the water park which is very near and an excellent day out. It opens at 10 which I suggest you do to get a sunbed. The rides are varied and there is a large area dedicated to the under 5s. It is in very good condition and has full catering.

Overall we thoroughly enjoyed our stay - it was a really easy holiday which I would mainly recommend to families with children under 16 (during the school holidays anyway).

The hotel was very good but needs a good update. The food was excellent but rather lacking in choice. The staff were very very friendly and the entertainment was brilliant.

We would not advise anyone to go there in August as the heat was too much, we were advised once there by many people that September is the best time. This hotel is great for children or large families but not ideal for teenagers or couples travelling alone, not really the place to relax during the day! Overall thoroughly enjoyed the holiday, it was a great experience.
