Although the Hotel was nice,it was so expensive, and the entertainment was pathetic to say the least. Its more suitable for Senior Citizens who only go for peace and relaxation, but everything is too expensive.

Full of wedding parties
Expensive but clean and well presented. Stayed here as part of a wedding party - several staying here at any one time - very popular for this but lacks personal touch - except when we asked and then we had a designated area for reception and to eat in the resturant. Good sea front position and lovely pool. Good range of food in the evenings and full breakfast. Entertainment manager very funny but in April the evenings were very dead in the hotel. Clean rooms but the hotel would not confirm we could have our children in the room next to us (had to pay for 2 rooms even though we requested a family room as one chd was over 13 years of age!) originally they were booked into a room on the next floor!
recent stay at hotel
have just returned from a two week stay at the louis imperial beach hotel. Having read some of the other comments I have to say that I most definately agree that this hotel needs a revamp in the room department. the rooms are small especially if you are a family of four when there is not much rom for luggage etc. most dissapointed to find out that the indoor pool is being renovated and will not be ready until december we were told. not much good with the weather changing!!!! ( over the two weeks weather was rather mixed!!!!) and out door pool freezing due to tempertures. beach really not up to much and definately not worthy of a blue flag just outside the hotel is a foul stench which is most unpleasant and does not inspire much confidence . whilst the food was really good there were sevaral people including staff down with tummy bugs, which could be attributed to the dining room crockery which had many pieces chipped/alittle dirty. entertainment team very " butlins" like in approach, and really quite poor, especially the "race nights" whoch encourages people including children to place bets on horse races, sorry dont agree with that!!! overall hotel was OK but do not think it is worth the money .
Fantastic Time
We got married in the hotel gardens on 5th October 2006. We had been looking forward to it since the beginning of the summer and were recommended this hotel by a friend who had also stayed there 4 yrs ago. On arrival, the hotel were not aware that we were a wedding couple so we had to ask if our room upgrade was available instead of it being offered. This was organised the following morning and we were welcomed to our new room with champagne on ice, flowers and a bowl of fruit! Lovely - made us feel very special. The manager and all of the staff were so helpful and friendly and made our holiday and wedding day truly memorable. Hotel facilities were very good although nightly entertainment was quite poor. I can imagine in the busy season when there is more of an audience for the performers it would be more rewarding for them than trying to entertain a handful of people at the end of a season! There are bars near the hotel though which are good and they are cheaper!! It was a shame that during our second week the indoor pool and jacuzzi were under reconstruction. Finally - the food -amazing! The chefs work so hard to produce fabulous food consistently. I would very much recommend this hotel for families, older couples and wedding parties. If, like us, you love the Greek way and pace of life you may find Paphos too British and touristy.
Good
Had a very relaxing holiday here. Hotel a little dated but clean with friendly staff and excellent food. Entertainment pretty poor in the evenings but fun archery, darts, quiz, aerobics etc. during the day (staff don't push to join in which is good). A few minutes stroll from a variety of bars, restaurants and the nightlife at the harbour is about a 30 minute stroll away (or short bus ride). Nice outdoor pool with plenty of sunbeds. However, we suffered ear infections, probably from the pool, and a few other guests did while we were there too. Overall a very relaxing holiday in an excellent location with very helpful staff.
pretty average
My husband , 5 year old daughter and myself holidayed here during the last week of the school summer hols. We booked fairly last minute and diy we booked the imperial with an agent approx £600 for the wk. We stayed half board, check in was quick and easy and a glass of juice provided. Room was ok bit tired tho - but fab sea view. We hired fridge which was a bit on the expensive side £4 ish per day i think and rather grotty - we used it lots tho kept own drinks in etc - mini bar v v expensive !! hotel bars expensive too but as you'd expect. Nice touches chocs in room , champers at bfast and a jar of marmalade on departure. Breakfast was fantastic !! a feast ! Eve meal was fab some nights and ok others. Entertainment pretty poor really altho my daughter loved the kids club but it was only a few hours on certain days. We weren't really very impressed with the pool and the indoor pool was very grotty ,lifts very slow and no air con, stairs don't seem to be advertised !! there are some but youhave to hunt for them. Reception very helpful. Free car park. On the whole a pretty average place but we enjoyed our holiday.
Excellent hotel in great location
Just returned from a great honeymoon spent at the Imperial - on arrival we had champagne and fruit in the room, which was overlooking the sea and spotless. The staff were lovely and as previous reviewers have said the food was excellent and varied. The hotel is ideally situated with a small, safe beach away from the bustle of Paphos, but within easy strolling distance of various bars, restaurants and shops. To reach Paphos it is a short taxi or bus ride. Hotel facilities are very good and there are always sunbeds available in the gardens or around the pool. Beach towels are also provided. We had a great time and will certainly be visiting Cyprus again.
Run down and dirty
This was our third visit to Cyprus in the past three years. We had stayed in the same hotel for the past two years which was excellent but fancied a change. Big Mistake!!!! On arrival the Hotel looks pleasant enough but then you notice that the carpets and chairs in the reception area are stained and grubby. This did not get any better when we were allocated our 'family' room. The coving was hanging from the ceiling, there were coffee stains all down the front of the dressing table that had not been wiped off. The bath had ring marks in it that we easily cleaned off ourselves. On the balcony all the paint was peeling off the ceiling and hanging down. Also the railing where people hang their towels was all rusty. This was not a proper family room, it is a standard room with a smaller rusty metal bed squeezed on one side and a cot on the other. There is no extra storage space so it is very cramped. The food however was excellent and could not be faulted with a good choice for all tastes. The only down side was that in the evening you could not sit outside as you can for breakfast. The restaurant becomes very hot as the poor air conditionig cannot cope. The gym equipment was old, rusting and worn out. The pool area was generally good but the sunbeds were filthy and the matresses were all covered in mold. You had to get your towels out by 6.30am or you dont get a good position The grounds were pleasant and well looked after. The daily entertainment was good and kept everyone entertained, but the evening entertainment could of been better. Fifi was good but he lacked support. Overall the staff were friendly and helpful. Drinks were fairly expensive but there were a lot of good bars nearby. Dont be fooled by the free windsurfing nearby as advertised it doesn't exist. This Hotel needs renovating and cleaning up . This is not a worthy four star hotel and is expensive for what it is.
Plus Points for this Hotel
This was our fifth visit to Cyprus all previous stays were in villas. Many plus points for an above average package holiday hotel. Accomodation acceptable, watch out for the noisy air con in the room.Plenty of space in the hotel grounds, although the towels are placed on the sun loungers, in particular ,around the pool the night before !. Who says its just the Germans !.Food was good with almost too much choice, self service can appear to be a "free for all",lots of people dashing about with part filled plates all making choices from the numerous hotplates. Soft drinks in the hotel are very expensive large lemonade over £3.00 sterling, however, next to the hotel are a number of shops where you can buy and bring drinks into the hotel grounds for less than half the price. Overall, if you like a hotel dominated by the Brits, with above average service and accomodation then the Imperial is fine
Nice on the face of it, but beware...
ear infections are rife here. My husband and both children went down with this within days of arriving and had to cancel the diving course they were so looking forward to. Most parties had one or more suffering at this time and whilst it was pointed out to the hotel staff and reps, they did nothing to alleviate the problem or in the case of the Thomson rep show the slightest interest .If you are visiting in the next few days, be prepared for the Hotel's procedure once you ask for a doctor if you find yourself an unfortunate victim. The reception staff order a taxi which will whisk you to the Royal Medical Centre in Paphos, which is very nice and efficient- which or course it should be, being a private outfit. You cannot use your EHIC card here. (The Thomson rep informs me that you can't use it anywhere in Cyprus, not even the hospital- I am not sure on this). So check your insurance details and be aware of your excess, it cost us over £100 for 3 helpings of anti-biotics! The hotel itself is nice, the food good, but the drinks expensive. The rooms are a little tired and could do with updating- and be aware there are no family rooms, just the standard rooms with extra beds and no extra space for clothing storage- so quite cramped for a family. Plenty of sunbeds available around the pool and in the very nice lush gardens that run down to the sea. Nice comfy cushions on the loungers too!
Amazing food!
We have just returned from spending 2 weeks at the Imperial. We found overall a very pleasant hotel. Rooms pretty basic but didn't spend an awful lot of time in it to make it a problem. It was cleaned every day and beds changed every other. I did have a ripped sheet one day so I would say that I think they could do with updating their bed linen and towels. The pool and the beach are very clean and tidy, with loads of sun beds and umbrellas. Loads of shady areas if that is your thing, with two young children it was a godsend! The food is amazing, so much choice and a kids menu in the evening. All of it well laid out and absolutely delicious! My children went to the kids club, which runs in the morning. Only one young girl running it, which alarmed us. If your children are looking for a fun filled kids club then this is not the one for them. It seemed to be mainly games in the room, which got quite hot. Although our young boys seemed to enjoy themselves, after a week they didn't want to go because they found it quite boring. Overall we found this hotel to be more than adequate for our needs, if they were to refurbish the rooms and provide a proper kids club, you would not be able to fault it!
