Best Western Bowery Hanbee Hotel

My two daughters(in their 20s and myself stayed here for 4 nights very economically. Recommend it to anyone. Subway is one block away. Short walk to Little Italy. We were very pleased with the room.It was clean and the bathroom was very new looking and the tub shining. The staff were friendly and most helpful with general information about the neighbourhood. We just returned from 3 nights at the Bowery Hanbee in Chinatown. My wife was a little nervous about staying in this area but after we left she said she was glad we stayed there. The locals are friendly and polite. This gem is tucked into the busy streets of vendors and little shops. The hotel has only been open 6 months and looks brand new. The staff all do an excellent job. We stayed here for a sort of family reunion weekend in August 2008. We knew the place was new when we booked it, but we liked it becasue it was so centrally located for our events in Little Italy and The Bowery. We had the studio which was probably bigger than most apartments in NYC! Table for 4, living room area with pull out couch and 2 comfy chairs, microwave/coffee maker area and two flat screen TVs! We just spent 3 nights at this hotel and I would have given it 5 stars except there are just a few minor things that kept me for doing that but, in reality, this should be a 4.5 stars. Deserving the full 5 stars: Cleanliness - the place is spotless. The rooms and bathrooms are very clean as are the common areas. No complaints. The Best Western Bowery Hanbee is on the corner Grand Street / Bowery Street in Chinatown, Manhattan. You can easily walk to Downtown, the East Village, Little Italy, Lower Eastside, Tribeca, Soho. This hotel was more than what we thought, I was a little scared since it was in China town but it was amazing hotel. I was more than impressed, very clean, and roomy rooms. I will for sure go back. there was 8 women who went and felt very safe in the area, only two streets from Little Italy and great place to eat DO NOT GO TO SOFIA'S CUCINA 143 MULBERRY STREET. who pays 10.00 for a side dish of pasta. The Best Western Bowery Hambee Hotel is in China Town on Grand, not too far from where the Holland Tunnel comes into New York City. It is a bit hard to see, because it does not have an imposing façade. Instead, there is just a relatively small sign and an entrance way. There is a chair and an upright desk at the entrance to the elevators for a doorman, but it was often unguarded. However, there were security cameras everywhere. Our family of four loved our stay at the Bowery Hanbee. The rooms were modern, sleek and comfortable. With a subway station two blocks away, we had convenient access to all the museums and sights. Hotel staff was courteous and helpful. All of Chinatown and Little Italy is right outside the door. Not a swanky neighbourhood, but great eats at every corner.

I stayed from Sunday, June 22 - 27th in room 511 to attending a training class downtown. I woke up the morning of June 24th with bites that appeared to be from bed bugs so I called the front desk and asked that my bed be inspected. I needed to be at work so I was not present when the inspection occurred. When I returned to the hotel in the evening, I inquired at the front desk the status of my room. A new hotel right in the middle of both Chinatown and Little Italy, one block from a major subway station and a 5 minute walk to two others. The Best Western Bowery has the feel of an upscale boutique hotel you'd find for double or triple the price in Times Square. For a short 5 minute subway ride, you can easily get to any major hot spot in Manhattan from this hotel.
