Wina Holiday Villa Hotel

I stayed here for 5 nights. I'd actually read some reviews over here about the negative parts about the hotel but I've ignored it to my own consequences. Here's what's wrong with the rooms in this hotel, mosquito's, there are a lot of em in our room. Hardly able to sleep through the first night because of it. Water in the bathroom is extremely salty, I've complained to the reception and they deny that it's salty at all!! The bathroom stinks of sewage waste and it gets worst on the second night. We stayed here for 10 days, the breakfast was just toast and cereal and eggs, no bacon (halal) but coffe and eggs on toast was suffice... Our room was clean quiet, the staff were so attentive even at 1am when we arrived and our air con didn't work (actually we didn't know how to use it) The tour guy that worked there when we stayed was FANTASTIC!! He got there at 730am each morning to take us out, we asked why he got there so early every day and he said just to take us out, he only charged us $35aud to take us anywhere for the... more

Hi... My name Is Ivin ^-^, im from jakarta. I just back from bali last weekend : 12-14september 2008. I went with my sister and all her friends, we lived in Wina Holiday Villa. Wanna give some comment that totally worthed for price that we paid :). The room is clean, no bugs, no mosqitos :). The swimming pool, we totally luv it, there's 2 swimming pool there :D. Fantastic place i loved it. The rooms are spacious and have a very nice balcony/terrace area for relaxing. The bathroom is below average and the tap water is terrible(very salty). The location is awesome short walk to pantai kuta and same the other way out onto jalan benasari and the shooping districts. The staff were pleasent and theres no one standing out the front of your hotel hassling you everytime you step out for a walk. Heading back in 2 weeks......interesting to see if i have a win with another good room.

I had to check in to this place just because I'm having a trip with a group. So, it was chosen for me. Once we arrived, I thought: hm, seems nice. It had a Balinese architecture and a nice layout. The cons start to "check in" immediately after registering. The tile was a bit slippery, not much lighting provided in the room, the bathroom was old, the tap water was salty, and it was enough for me not to recommend this place to anyone. THe room that I got was nice n cosy with a view to an open square. The hotel's staff were always with smiles and very helpful. One of the guards was extra helpful. My main beef is the tap water. Never had such awful tasting tap water. I really appreciate the two small(.25L) bottled water provided daily. Two bigger size (.5L) would be better.

Let me just get to the point! Cons: Bugs, Cockroaches, Bathroom is dirty, Small; The room stinks when you first go in. We had so many problems with the shower such as no hot water or little pressure coming out of the shower, and I'm talking drips. Pros: Cheap; I paid about $20-$25/night. Service is great, attentive to complaints but not much of a resolution, at least they try. Walking distance to the beach. I stayed on this hotel on July 12 ~ 15. I got some dissapointed experience. I spent 2 rooms with connecting door, but It needed about 2 hour to get a key to open the door after I made a complaint by phone to room service and direct go to front office. There was no TV remote control for one room, I change the program with push button manually for 1 night. After that they replace the TV with another one included remote control. For the breakfast it was less service always the meals late for refill, the guest have to wait for couples minutes.... more

Meant for the surfers and the swimmers, ie, ok if you do not spend much time at the hotel. The breakfast buffet menu was awful!

We've been to the Wina 3 years in a row now. It used to be excellent but now it seems that nobody wants to take care of it anymore so the building itself and the pool are getting in an even wórse condition every year. That is probably why it is not offered in German catalogues anymore. However, the staff is always very kind, the service is good- it's just the building and the rooms that are in a poor condition by now. It's a pity.
