Villa Rosa

We stayed at Villa Rosa in early June 2004, after reading reviews on Trip Advisor. It was a highlight of our trip to Italy. We felt like we had hit the jackpot after some of the hotels we had stayed in. The view from our balcony was amazing - to the sea and Positano. We could have spent our days on the balcony. Like any of you reading this review I also spent ages trawling through web sites trying to find a decent place to stay whilst on the Amalfi coast at the beginning of May(and there's no shortage of options!) before chancing it with La villa Rosa. Well, I lucked out! The hotel is clean, the staff are both very friendly and helpful, and my girlfriend and I were made to feel very welcome. We spent 4 nights at the Villa Rosa Hotel in Positano this past July 2004 and absolutely loved it. We hated to leave. They have changed the numbers of their rooms and the much praised room 18 is now room number 32. This room is huge with a large, bright bathroom, and a large terrace overlooking the town of Positano. It has a king size bed. This perfect little hotel on the hillside in Positano is simply heaven. We had a perfect room at the very top of the villa (#38), with a small terrace but a view to die for. Some rooms have much larger terraces, but its best to stay higher up, farther away from the roof of the building across the street. Any room you stay in will likely have a phenomenal view, but make sure to opt for full-sea-view. I can't say enough about the view from Villa Rosa. We were incredibly pleased with our five night stay at the Villa Rosa. Our high floor room (#33) had an absolutely beautiful terrace view of the ocean and the balcony was surrounded by gorgeous red potted flowers. We spent many evenings drinking wine and just taking in the view! My husband and I made Villa Rosa our home for three nights in May of 2004. The hotel is clean and comfortable. The price, given the area, is spectacular (paid $130. US. per night) for what you get. Steps were no big deal if you are not handicapped. The balcony and views were amazing. A great home base to hang out in the Amalfi Coast and or Positano. We stayed at Villa Rosa in late May 2004, right after they moved their reception room to the first level. As a fortunate result of the transition, we were upgraded to their suite on the third floor! The suite was enormous, with a beautiful sitting area complete with 2 chaise loungers and a huge window with a view of all of Positano! We also had an enormous bathroom with jacuzzi bath and shower. Hotel Villa Rosa in Positano is a beautiful small hotel in an excellent location with spectacular views from every room. Every room has a terrace with a sea view. Breakfact (continental) is served each morning on the terrace. The hotel is close to a bus stop and an easy walk to Positano central and the beach. The staff is helpful and extremely nice. We would stay there again and again

We stayed at Villa Rosa for 3 nights April 2004. They no longer require you to climb to the top of the stairs to reach the reception area. They moved the reception area closer to the street level. It is now only about 20 steps. You still have to climb a lot of steps once inside, but they have staff to carry your bags for you. We enjoyed our stay very much. The most romantic hotel ever! We stayed at the Villa Rosa in June 2002 and were super impressed. Everything about the Villa Rosa charmed us. We stayed in Room 11 and had the most romantic view of the ocean and town. My fiance proposed to me on the terrace on our second night and the helpful staff of the hotel ensured everything was perfect. Great breakfast served in your room as well. The climb up the steep stairs to the hotel is a small price to pay.
