Great room, great view, great value
While the room decor left a little to be desire (we felt like we were stepping back in time to the days of Miami Vice), the room itself was extremely large and clean, and for a view over Positano and the water you can not beat the huge terrace. Staff was extremely helpful and friendly; only regret is we did not get a chance to dine in their restaurant. Room price was great as well. Really enjoyed our stay here.
Superb, make you feel at home
The setting is beautiful, the owners treat you like family, service is wonderful, rooms are great, esp Sirio and Nereo with wonderful balcony's. Nothing but good to say. Keep in mind Positano makes for lots of walking and (steep) steps, but there is a good bus system for those that will be challenged by walking. A beautiful place, like from a Hollywood set. Capri was chaos, recommend to skip, and recommend Hercaleum over Pompeii.
Best Deal in Positano
This hotel is inviting and beautiful and the innkeepers are great. We saw two different rooms. One was the Orfeo (which seemed to be the nicest) but all are nice. All have regridges and stoves, terraces, sitting areas, etc. The rooms are HUGE - bigger than my apartment in NY (haha). I was sick and the innkeeper brought me medicine and cooked me some special soup! True, it is a bit of a walk to the beach, but excercise is good when you are eating pasta 3 times a day!
What a balcony!
The room was large, the view of the coastline was great, but most exceptional aspect of our stay was the HUGE balcony - a porch, really - for our room. Enough space for a large table and grapes hanging down from a trellis above. I also made a day hike on the nearby "Walk of the Gods" and it is probably one of the best hikes I have ever done. However, I made the mistake of doing it without a map and trying to be adventurous. I got a little lost but that was my fault for trying to go off-trail. Maps can be bought at news stands for... more
Wonderful Experience
The Villa Gabrisa is a small family run hotel which is both charming and comfortable. The suite was inviting, furnished with taste and the views from the balcony were wonderful. The family and staff made us feel very welcome and the restaurant proved so delightful that we ended up eating most of our meals at the hotel. We were within easy walking distance of the beach and main shopping area, while the bus stop (situated next door to the Villa) made the trip back much easier when the hill proved a little daunting (especially after... more
Our favorite honeymoon hotel
We stayed here for our honeymoon. We couldn't have stayed anywhere better. The family who owns the hotel are great, their restaurant is great, the room and balcony were great, and of course the view was unbeatable. We loved it and plan on returning as soon as possible!
Villa Gabrisa is a gem!
We loved our 3 night stay at Villa Gabrisa in a Deluxe room with a small balcony and a breathtaking view of the sea. The room was beautifully decorated and very spacious. Gabriele and her son and daughter were very warm and welcoming and gave us wonderful advice on things to do and see. They booked a trip to Capri for us (which was breathtaking), and gave us great advice on ferry and bus timetables. Nothing was too much trouble and they made our stay in Positano very special. We ate at their hotel restaurant for the 3 nights as... more
Very pleasant small hotel
A charming small hotel perched at the top of the village with breaktaking views from the large terrace. Not fancy but very comfortable.
Breath taking views, comforting Service
My wife and I stayed at this B&B for 5 days through New Year's 2006. We used Positano as a base for our visit to the Amalfi Coast. If you are looking for a very relaxing time and plan to spend time taking in the view and resting in a peaceful environment, then this is your place. Gabriela, who runs the hotel is originally from New Zealand and runs the B&B with her italian husband and two grown up kids. She is quite helpful and has lived in the area for over 25 years. If you stay at this place, you should try and book one of the suites.... more
Great terraces - wonderful views
My husband and I spent two nights at Villa Gabrisa hotel during our honeymoon. We were blown away by the size of our room - and even more so by our lovely terrace. The terrace was enormous, and decorated with beautiful potted plants, including small lemon and orange trees. It also had an amazing view of the ocean, the mountains and the eastern part of Positano. We had dinner in the restaurant and thought it was a terrific value. We had free breakfast both mornings - fruit, juice, coffee and pastries. The staff was incredibly helpful --... more
