Uma Sapna

The hotel ambience and modern decor exceed our expectations. Both common & private pools are great, and villa are spacious. Good service attitude.

Everythings is great but the location is remote and taxi driver didn't know the hotel, couldn't get to the beach without transport. Nearest cafe, shops and convenience store is 10-15min walk.

I can't recommend this hotel enough, especially given the value. The room we stayed in was one with a plunge pool and garden both of which were well maintained. The room itself is tastefully appointed and spacious, and has a generous bath tub which looks out to the stars. The choice of breakfast in the mornings is fairly limited, but you're quite happy to overlook this given it's served in the privacy of your lovely garden. I also found the staff to be incredibly attentive and pleasant. Have told all my friends about this little oasis in Seminyak.

Uma Sapna is a nice villa. Stayed for 4 nights during Christmas. Got upgraded to villa with swimming pool. Villa Ambon. Service is good and guests can use free internet at the villa office (if no one using it since there is onlyone laptop provided). However the connection is a bit slow. No other complaints except for these two drawbacks: Privacy - Even there is a bamboo curtain hanged on the main door, it still give a view from people outside to see what happening inside the villa yard and swimming pool. Distance - a bit further from main road (Laksamana road). At night, it is not properly lit up, so, be careful. Also, for a night life, this area is not recommended. Restaurants along Laksamana Road are located a bit further down towards Oberoi. And the shops along the road are not open at night.

The Uma Sapna was a great resort. My wife and I stayed there at the end of our honeymoon and it was the largest of the three places that we stayed. We originally booked a 1-bedroom with pool, but they upgraded us to a two-bedroom which was very nice. The pool is very nice and larger than I expected. The bedroom is very nice with all high-quality marble floors and bathroom. Very clean style. If you go to the Uma Sapna, you really want to stay in the larger rooms. The staff is friendly, but we had a hard time communicating with them in english. Also, it is kind of hard to find the resort unless you know what you are looking for. The food was pretty good with a wide selection of room service menu. We did not try the spa, but it looked nice. We wish we stayed in that villa longer because it was so nice. As far as Rooms go, It was the nicest villa we stayed at in bali. Would be great also for 2 couples because it was a very large space and we felt spoiled with all the room. Will be recommending it to all my friends.

Not recommended for couples who seek for privacy and relaxation. The place was just too open. Nothing private about it. The staff was not helpful. Slow reacting. Late check out not available, never told us until the last day, we had to get out of the room by 12 at noon, although we told them our flight was @7pm. No solutions. The driver who picked us up from airport not helpful, not even offering help to carry the luggage.Breakfast was not so good,small portion, bad presentation. The water at the toilet seat was smelly, like sewer.

However, since we complaint a lot about the privacy part, we got free upgrade to a better room. But still the villa fence has holes at the wall.

Not recommended for couples who seek relaxation and privacy! there is no privacy whatsoever because the villa has a "see-through" fences. People, gardener, staffs, and others kept walking back and forth in front of our villa. We complained to be moved to a better privacy villa, no answer until 9pm. However, they finally offered us a free upgrade to a better villa for the next day. But it was a slow reaction from them to realize how annoyed we were by this lack of privacy.

The driver who picked us up from the airport didn't even offer to help carry the luggage. Not very helpful staffs. We asked for champagne glasses, they never come. We asked for a late check out, they never call back, until we asked again. And it was not available, we just had to get out of the room by 12noon, while our flight was at 7 pm. And all we asked was until 3pm.

The breakfast that comes with the rate was not so good. Bad presentation. Glasses & Plates provided in the villa were dirty. Toilet water smells like sewer.

It was an awful experience. We came for relaxation and we ended up being stressed-out.

Positives: Clean & Modern.

Uma Sapna is a great villa enclave in central Seminyak, albeit tucked away and a bit tough to find. Once inside, guests will find a nicely landscaped compound, and delightful individual villas, each with a plunge pool. The vibe here is spare, Asian, and modern--with the sound level quiet. Breakfasts are decadent--the Mie Goreng is particularly good--and delivered to your private courtyard overlooking the pool. Bathroom is stunning--lots of marble, separate bathtub and shower, with light from the outside filtering in. . . Downsides include small patchouli scented soap, small bedrooms, and a location that can be tough to navigate; at night the back way from Raya Seminyak can have you confronting various barking dogs down an unlit somewhat broken-up road.

Compared to some other spots in Seminyak, this is a great value.

There is no restaurant here, but plenty of interesting spots are a 15 minute walk away. . .a particularly great choice is Antique, with innovative menus and inexpensive prices; Antique is on Dhyana Pura.

if you want to go to the beach, the sands are about 15 minutes away as well. . .Seminyak's beaches are fine for walking, but the sand varies from the brown of graham crackers to the black of topsoil. NIce sunsets though. For gay travelers, take a cab to Callego Beach--the cab driver will know where it is--there are chaises, a waterfront restaurant, and massage areas, all in a grove overlooking the ocean. A great massage is about $6; lunch is less than $5.

I'd definitely choose Uma Sapna again!

Staying there from 28-31 January in one bedroom villa with plunge pool. The rate is USD 103/per night and we booked through ----. For us the rate was unbeatable having such a wonderful stay in Uma Sapna.

Room:

Surprisingly wider than we thought, with cable TV, CD player, phone, and large windows with wooden panels. Very homy and cozy. Bed is large enough, with big mirror behind (see picture), mattress, threads and bed cover are nicely soft. They provide safety deposit box. The room has two cupboard. Wash table is behind the bed, separated by the big mirror. Have 2 washing basins, they have huge bath tub from white grainy stone, and a shower. All water taps working well (e.g. the water pressure, and hot/cold). Bathtub are covered by glass wall facing a small garden to bring the natural sense while you're soaking up. The vila has small kitchen outside the bedroom, with "maxi" bar (i mean a big refrigerator to store the canned drinks-chargeable!!). Buy your own drinks/food and store in there.

Staff:

Staff are friendly, very polite, and helpful. They provide free airport transfer. You will not see many staff around, because they really appreciate your privacy. But if you need them, just ring them and they will be with you right away.

Facilities:

They have spa, but we didn't try. Also have a general area pool, which is practically were ours most of the time because we never saw anyone swim there. They have parking space if you rent a car during your stay in Bali. Security 24 hours. Breakfast are limited but not bad at all. You are required to fill in the form of breakfast choices you would have in the next morning. Just slip the completed form under the front door and the staff will pick it up in the morning and bring the food at time you requested. Otherwise, just ring them and tell what do you want for breakfast!! Just as simple as that!!

Location:

In jalan Drupadi, a narrow street part from Jalan Raya Seminyak. Very quiet location you can hear the cricket sound at night. Jalan Drupadi is currently quite a bad road, beware when you drive. But it is only 2 minutes driving (5-10 minutes walking) to Jalan Raya Seminyak, where most of nice resto/bars and shops located.

Warning:

Beware of the wooden fences surrounding the villa, because if someone outside walking close enough to the fences, he can see through behind the fences. So a bit less privacy I guess, but well, for us it doesn't really matter. The staff are quite professional on this issue, they really appreciate your privacy.
